- In Mike’s final video he shows you how he weathered his B-17G and he completes the assembly of this great kit. In addition, Mike explains what tools and products he uses for his weathering techniques.
Great build. Just got this model so looking forward to it. $8.50 my goodness I had to replay the video to make sure I was hearing that right!

I had it in my unbuilt stack for over 30 years!
Beautiful build Mike. I believe the kit is still the best overall in 1/48 and have built four over the years. For those that may not what to do the modifying to improve this model to modern standards, there is a new 1/35 Border Models B-17G being designed by ASKA Studio. No release date yet.
thanks
The model looks Fantastic. Very nice job, on the finish and weathering. Oh, and just so you know @20:17 that is not a "Radome" That is the ADF loop antenna. On the real aircraft, the loop is inside an aerodynamic teardrop (or football) shaped shroud. A Radome is a protective cover for a Radar dish. B-17s did not have radars.
Great series 😊
Mike, great video series on the monogram B-17g kit, cannot wait to use some of your techniques and tips on my upcoming build of this kit! Thanks for sharing!!
it was a fun build
Just found you channel - THANK YOU !! Simple, effective (not "model art") techniques. PERFECT for us retired guys revisiting our younger hobbies (I cut my teeth on Monogram's 1/48 series with the Shep Paine inserts). Question - might you have any product info / details on the "light grey" pencil pastel you mentioned for fading OD. I need to try this method; I don't like how my grey-lightened OD modulation turns out.....THANKS
Hi James
Art supply stores have them.
they can also be found on eBay and amazon

I love that, not “ model art “
Awesome build and series. I'm looking forward to starting mine one of these days. I was wondering if you ever use the Squadron vacuum formed canopies. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm curious about their fit and appearance.
They are too flexible and hard to cut.
What kind of sponge do you use for the chipping effect
