The problem with Huawei is that it has the most key 5G patents and the best 5G network equipment -- the USA government doesn't like that because 5G is a critical technology that it doesn't want China to lead. So the USA keeps spreading lies about the company to use as justifications to sanction the company. The USA is also trying to prevent China from progressing in AI and so has banned the sales of microchips and machinery to China.

Though there are so many street food and smaller diner that one could easily be attracted to, I highly recommend to eat at some of the nicer restaurants to enjoy the food, the service, and the decor. The dining experience will be different and it won’t break your bank.
Well done on the video! Did you do the drone shots too? I'd have been scared to fly my drone there! I visited 11 years ago and things look pretty much the same. The skyline across the river is changed a little bit but everything looks just the same. Nanjing Road East is, indeed, exciting at all times. I hope you were able to take the ferry across to the other side since it's well worthwhile and quite a contrast.

If you like soup, you can go to Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. There are a lot of good soup, which is packed in crock pots.And it's affordable to make you want to stay.😊😊😊
Welcome to.China! And next time before you get on the plane to China, get a esim set up on your phone so you will have internet once you land and Google works. And you should use Apple maps instead of Google Maps in China. Hope that helps:)
Nanjing road only reflects 1% of the scale of the city in terms of modern landscape , you will find lots of super fancy modern shopping areas scattered in the radius of 40kms
I miss traveling in China, especially Shanghai. Whenever I visit China, I make sure to stay there, whether upon arrival or before departing back to Manila for business trips, to visit the factories of our partner suppliers.
Never buy sim in the airport. Those are like 10 times more expensive compare to the regular price out in the city.... Just have a esim active ready for like 24hrs upon arrival to get you into the city and get a sim card there. Chinese usually just pay 50 Yuan which is around 7 USD per month for a pretty good amount of call/text/data combo.

I lived in Shanghai for a few years and just wanted to say I would not recommend trying to get a sim card outside of the airport - it's dang near impossible as you'll need to get a plan which requires a Shanghai address, connecting it to your passport, and a whole bunch of other stuff that would have you spending an entire day with the phone company So even though the airport pricing is criminal there isn't really another option for tourists 🙃

should have just gotten some cash from atm to use for metro and head to any major mobile carrier streetside shop. probably would have been $10-15 tops. shanghai can be extremely expensive or relatively cheap - just avoid tourist traps
It is funny you spent so much on sim card. When I went to China I just got a Nomad esim card, very cheap, fast firewall-free internet, no vpn needed, etc.
