The 50 minutes flew by because it was so engaging. Looking forward to your next video!
I miss living in Shanghai! It's one of the world's best cities. Jing'an Temple and YuYuan Garden are both beautiful! YuYuan during Chinese New Year is an experience I will never forget! Great vlog, Dany. Beautiful hotel!
Thanks for sharing your experience in Shanghai with a different angle. Really love to see it. I worked and lived in Shanghai for a while and moved to Chengdu three years ago. Welcome to China, and look forward to watching more of your vlogs in Chinese cities in the future.
I have lived and worked in Shanghai as an expat and still travel to Shanghai often. The shopping street you traveled is E Nanjing Rd which travels from the Bund to Peoples Square. PuDong is very different and more modern than Puxi and I like Puxi much better as it feels more like historical China. YuYuan Garden, Xintiandi, Tianzifang, And French concession areas are all worth a visit. So much to see and do in SH that you really need months to see it all and truly experience the vibe and culture of the Shanghainese people and local foods. Enjoy!

If you want a typical Chinese style architecture in this region of China (i.e. water canal/lagoon/lake cities), Shanghai may be a bit too new, it’s a symbol for the late 19th to early 20th century and then modern skyscrapers. Although I know recommendation is a waste, because your video was shot in June, but for next time, cities near Shanghai like Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing are probably the type of cities you are looking for. There is an old saying, “there is heaven in the sky, there’s Suzhou and Hangzhou on earth.” which means the ancient people are comparing heaven to these two cities.

Highly recommend Hangzhou, which is famous for traditional landscape architecture and modern tech. Only takes 25mins if you take a train from Shanghai. You will be surprised how comfortable it will be to live there
Was surprised to see english at the coffee shop wall menu. Is this more for tourists with english spoken and on some buildings?? Dany, i love the nighttime skyscrapers light up. Thanks for walking 🚶♂️ extra for me..😂
No. Don't be misled. Not everything in Shanghai is in English. In the heart of Shanghai maybe, you'll see some translations. But stray away a bit and it's very easy to get lost. A lot of signs are not translated even in the metro line, it's very confusing cos google maps doesn't work there. There is a local version but it's all in chinese as well. Also, people don't always know how to speak English. Generally, it's very confusing to travel around Shanghai or China. Unless of course you're willing to taxi your way around or book a private travel agency.
Metro stations in Shanghai definitely have English. Actually tourists can use translation app to communicate. Google map does not work in China, but I saw quite a few tourists use an app that shows the route and that one is easy to use, but I didn’t know which one they used.
Actually, Shanghai is really suitable for a young foreigner to live and start a business. You can meet different countries people, and different view but in a peace way.
In fact, power banks are everywhere. You don’t need to buy them, you just need to rent them. The cost is about $1 for 1.5 hours. 39:52, On the counter on the left, there is a white box. 40:13 the yellow box.And you can return it anywhere.
Welcome to my city. What a nice city walk. You picked all the right places. It’s very interesting to see the city from the eyes of another person. Btw, the night time cruise would be a great choice.
Shenzhen is much more modern and green than Shanghai. I think because, Shenzhen has 100% electric bus & taxis and Shenzhen has a more modern & new vibe due to its hi-tech cluster companies were based on such as DJI, Huawei & Tencent. Although Shanghai also has hi-tech clusters, Shenzhen has more greeneries and parks.
