    Thanks Tanmay for reiterating well known but often ignored basics. Fortunately in most HTS, most important speakers are front and centre, and they are mostly close to AVR, so having a good cable won't rip anyone off. And most Subwoofers are powered and fed by RCA cable, where OFC or thickness matter but not to that extent.
    Thanks again.
    Keep posting,, stay healthy, stay blessed.

    When listening, I prefer not to put up with the faint background signal noise (noise floor)
    One should try pressing pause or mute, and if one is unable to differentiate whether the systems off or on, that's telling you your cables are crap.
    When friends or guests come round rather showing them how loud the system goes I prefer to press pause/mute and show them how quiet it goes.
    Silence is Golden.

    Thanks for your video, very informative and helpful for 1st timers like me. I've been having issue with both front and back speakers firing during testing when only back speakers are supposed to fire. The problem started after I had to uninstall my wiring during home renovation. I'm going to try purchase new cables and redo the wiring to check if it works. Any thoughts what could have gone wrong

    • @TanmayMehta
      @TanmayMehta  Год назад +1

      Check if the cables have got open cuts in middle where they are getting connected to each other! Try checking the continuity tester, and also the connections at the amp back panel.

    This is a fantastic video. I am an audiophile and I am looking for good quality cables. Your video will help to find one. The speaker cable amazon link you have given is saying it is out of stock. Do you have any alternative source? The chart you have given for selecting different cables for amplifier system mentioning the watts of the amplifier, are these RMS value?

    • @TanmayMehta
      @TanmayMehta  2 года назад

      Yes. These are RMS value. And you can get in touch with my team on bit.ly/mehtanmay for cables. Unfortunately the amazon ones are not available due to low copper availability

    I was advised 17 AWG Cables by Touchwood Automation for my Polk 5.1.2 system. You are suggesting 12-14. Is it correct?

    • @TanmayMehta
      @TanmayMehta  2 года назад +1

      Hey Devdatta, Thanks for your query. Just checked with the team. You are looking for Polk Fusion T series. Which can work comfortably on 1.5 sq mm speaker cable. And currently 17AWG from Kasper is available with the same Thickness and Gauge. That’s why recommended. For the Polk Elite Signature or Reserve series, 14 AWG with 2.5 sq mm would have been recommended. So not to worry 👍🏻
