I pulled the trigger on the R9 Fury Nitro, and am more than pleased with it. Only coil wine experienced was during Valley Benchmark..... I can live with that ;)
If you still have your Fury you should definitely look into unlocking it and enabling everything on the GPU to partically make it an air-cooled Fury X and then do a video on it!
+Johnathon Conn Sadly, yup. I'm hoping the whole new software suite they're launching soon to replace catalyst will remedy that. It's a PITA. All other concerns aside, I honestly much prefer Nvidia's recording functionality.
i bought the fury, cause i dont have space in my case for the water pump and i'm upgrading from a r9 280x tri x..i love the tri x design and cooler, so having a fiji chip in that tri x style was a huge selling point for me..cant wait for it to get here..
Indeed. Nano would be nice. I still can't believe that I uses max of 175W on full load. But since I'm a Linux (gamer) junkie I'll just wait a bit longer to get full support from the drivers. Aaaand hopefully the prices are at least a bit dropped then...
I've recently upgraded to the Sapphire R9 390 Tri-X 8GB and am loving it. works perfect for 1080p gaming and runs fairly cool.(55-72.C) when pushed hard.Think i've found the sweet spot for me.
Of the three I'd go the nano, just because I don't demand so much graphically and even then, I'd rather that triple fan setup than a water-cooled job, factory fitted or not, you can easily service or replace a fan. Off topic but I'm curious about this coil whine thing, can't say i've noticed it behind my closed headphones / other noises. Interesting vid none the less Blunty, cheers.
I'd probably go for the R9 Fury. I'd like a mini/micro ATX build but I'd never be able to justify the cost difference between them. In the US the price difference is about 120-150 dollars. It'd push everything I'd ever need and leave room for other accessories or even just my normal bills. The 390x would also be tempting but the incredibly high temps of that card would stop me from actually buying it. Edit: Turns out what I was looking at was a decent sale on the Fury, oops. Yeah I guess it is a bit of an odd one although it still is cheaper. I'd say if you're not going to be using a smaller case why not just save the 50-100 dollars?
I feel it's hard to justify buying any of the premium AMD cards atm, the cards in the lineup I feel are a good investment(depending on price point) is 290x/390 and 280x/380. These cards kick nvidias ass in at their price point. But if you are going for top of the range, especially if you are going for overclocking, nvidia is the way to go currently. If you have room for it, any of these new water cooled 980ti's have sick overclocking potential.
Hey Blunty, do you have a suggestion for a card compatible with a Asus P8H77-M LE Motherboard, but is no longer than 10-11 inches? I'm looking for a possible upgrade for my current card (Asus GeForce GTX 660 DirectCU II Nvidia Graphics Card (2GB GDDR5)).
+Slye_Fox Mobo doesn't matter when selecting a GPU, the GPU will work as long as the mobo has a free PCI-E port(although speed will vary depending on the PCI-E gen). What is your budget for a new card?
+The_rocketman Do you have any Nvidia card suggestions? From what I've seen on the steam forums, AMD sometimes has problems and to my knowledge Nvidia is more universally supported.
+Slye_Fox Nvidia has problems too(even more than usual nowadays), don't listen to a random steam forum as most of them probably haven't bought an AMD card in years or just repeat what they heard a long time ago, if you want help from an actual PC hardware community go to the LinusTechTips forum and ask. I recommended the best cards in that price range. P.S. what do you mean by "universally supported"?
thanks for the review very informative. The heat and sound is what's keeping me from buying this card. Shame as I really want to join the red team to humble nvidia at the moment.
I own an Nvidia graphics processing unit, but I would prefer to own an AMD GPU. I don't use a 970, but Nvidia lied about how much VRAM it contains, showed Batman: Arkham Knight running at 60FPS, and are locking driver updates to Nvidia GeForce experience.
+Mark McCauley yeah I've got the 970 and wasn't impressed with the VRAM fiasco but it did tick all my other boxes like silent, temps,OC so I didn't return it.

I appreciate these Graphics card reviews as I'm looking for a whole rig overhaul sometime next year.
As always

+Blunty what monitor do you use? don't know if you mentioned it in another video
R9 fury is what i want (and am getting) it dropped in price to 499 and you get star wars free so its a win win for me
same xD

if I had to choose between the 3, I'd go with the R9 Nano. Low power consumption, more affordable, and way more then enough for what I need it to do.

A sweet remix of those fan noises would be great haha, sounded like you were going higher and higher on a synth.
Hey Blunty, why don't you capture the FPS via Afterburner/RivaTuner OSD in these gameplays? I think that would be nice.

+The_rocketman Not sure, I'm aiming some somewhere around the £200 mark, but no more than £300.
+Slye_Fox You could get a 390 which would cost you about £260-270 or u could get a 380X which will be available tomorrow for about £200 or less.

during Gameplay you can't hear anything of this fucking awesome card
I like AMD Cards but the Nivida Suite is soooooooooooo Nice that I just refuse to switch over to the red team.
I have this card best looking card ever made
5:15 WTF? You just walked in your own trap.
+YouMark _ Yup... And paid a rapid price for my hubris. ;)
I own this card run around 70-85 full load depending on what you allow in the ccc but for fuck sakes never ever touch the backplate it BURNS!
every has to end with 390x fury X and with 780ti 980 980ti only high end

+Yakubu 06 It is still a very good GPU.
FINALLY!
Well if I were going to spend that much I would just go for the gtx 980 or 980 ti.
nah
500 watt psu with this card in my system lol
What language is this!??! This is not console.... It's a nerds favourite toy
