Angle of attack indictor does not display degrees, it displays "units". In that era this was common instead of displaying degrees. (BTW, at that time the T-38A displayed AOA in percentage of critical angle of attack, which is actually more intuitive than either degrees or units. AOA of 1.0 was stall, and approach speed of 0.6 AOA, max range 0.18, max endurance 0.3 AOA were all marked on the dial.)
CABIN TEMP panel: You said with manual mode selected you can choose cabin temperature with the knob. What you must have meant to say is that knob is functional only when AUTO mode selected. Manual hot and cold positions are momentary spring loaded positions that move the temperature control valve in the direction of the position held. It is meant for use when the automatic temp control system malfunctions.
The pitch knob on the radar scope does not adjust the antenna elevation. It is there only to adjust the horizon reference on the screen to actual level. It is just a pitch reference for the pilot.
I am generally amazed at the number of things that ED wasted time and code to model when it does not matter or serves literally no function in the simulator. Ex: the Seat Height Adjuster is modeled and functional. The vents are modeled and adjustable. The IFF switches work and light up. The Pedal Adjust lever works. The Comm Ant switch. The Sight Camera Overrun Selector. The Sight Camera FPS Switch. Any / all of those things - Why?
Its a simulator. People use this to emulate real life and follow checklists. Its nice to flip a switch for the sake if following the checklist, even if it has no effect in game.
It's the little things that matter. I am disappointed when these little things aren't modeled! Also remember a lot of people make cockpits based on these aircraft and if some switches aren't modeled its kind of annoying.
There is no VHF comm radio in this aircraft. Are you saying that there is a DCS World only cheat that gives you a VHF radio when you set the 100MHz knob to "T"?
I just love how these cockpit familiarisations are so useless. I mean seriously...why cant you edit the video just a tiny bit like, add some colored squares around each panel and put text beside each switch/knob etc that is mentioned just make it not boring...i could literally listen to these videos like a radio because visuals are just so horibly made ("looking around the cockpit simulator")...and there doesnt seem to be any improvement :( Other than that I think other tutorials are very helpful so thank you for these!

Just discovered these superb tutorial videos. They are concise, clear, and easy to understand. Thank you for keeping them on RUclips!
Fast Erect in the cockpit seems like a useful feature to have.
😆
Thank you for these tutorial videos, Cap. They help a lot!

Super Cap to the moon
I'm seriously impressed by how much you guys remember.

Thanks cap!!! Welcome tutorial, your last video on the F5 cockpit was 50 minute LOL. Waaaay to long for me!
Yup replacing crappy old vids with relatively slick ones.

Interesting.
Thanks as always man
Great vid thanks !
I wish there was a F5-TH in DCS.

I was thinking about that too. My suggestion is that planned that these things will one day be implemented?
With a little precision : it's a Study simulator, if those switches weren't modeled, it wouldn't deserve that title

Impressive video. Just a question: Do you guys take new members?
Yup most people join through GRAV members ship. See in our Discord.
Can't wait for the apache. Can someone give me an estimate on how long till it comes out
A very long time.

Yup.

@@grimreapers Great! Try to make these more interactive and fun to watch :)
