I've had cards from this set sitting in a cupboard since 2020 - No curling, Perfect quality, and the smell of the cards is totally unique. You can tell they really went out of the way to make this a very special set.
I was so sad Ad Nauseam never had a foil extended box topper. Would have been so much cooler than one of the cards which already received premium treatment in Kaladesh and Amonkhet.
For anyone else who was curious, a foil Vulshock Gauntlets was worth about $0.25 USD back in 2016. Even then most foil commons and uncommons were worthless sadly, with all the money being in the rares and mythics (for the most part).
one of the few mtg cards i still own is an original pack fresh dar blood moon. i loved having them in my sb from back in the day red burn deck. i think they called it sleigh or red deck wins now but yeah it was a nice card to wreck the rich peoples fancy lands decks!

The sets massive success in being a long term home run led to WotC watering down rare/mythic values and justification asking for insane prices.
Everybody always bashed on this set in the box topper slot for the "Goblin Guide Expedition Map" pairing - But what about the "Cyclonic Rift Brainstorm" pairing ?? Never saw anything about this but over the years I've seen that pairing pop up over and over.
I like the fact that he adores the printing of it but here in Europe we have the even better printing from Belgium. Nice to see Double Masters again. Prices here in Europe are € 350 for such a box. That is around 380 dollars.
in this box opening we saw: Sharuum, Time Sieve, Thopter Foundry, and Sword of The Meek. this set was literally handing out infinite combos casually. EDIT: AND MYR BATTLESPHERE you could probably build an entire Sharuum EDH deck out of this set lol

I bought 4 boxes of VIP Double Masters on ebay 3 years ago before Christmas from a seller in Europe. When it arrived at my place in the US it as 4 booster boxes of Double Masters in French. Should I be happy?

I think that the expansion of demand due to expansion of player base has something to do with it. More people (new players) have created greater overall demand for the cards despite re printing.
Rudy, do you think we will ever return to this era again? with no alternate art in packs, just basic card art, and with box toppers? or are we completely gone banas with no return?
This is the strongest Masters set, no doubt. I actually got a box a few months ago, and it was a really bad box, unfortunately. I already have a complete set, so this was just for shits. It definitely hurt, though.

First 2 box toppers were about $97 and the second 2 box toppers were about $64.
Mesmeric Orb was like $5 bout 6 months ago but Fallout just pushed it past $20ish. Lots of mill stuff recently skyrocketed
