Had my FN2 7 years now, almost sold it a few times but when it comes to the crunch i take the advert down because i love the thing! Most reliable car I’ve owned.
Thanks for the comment. I have a couple of cars like that... I think I can sell them and have in the past even listed them, but when it came to actually selling... well, they are still with me! The FN2 Type-R is an excellent car and I really enjoyed mine. Keep hold of it if you can as they're only going to go up in value from now on. Thanks for watching.
I love mine but I miss my ep3 . If your looking to sell it again go test a ep3 first if you haven't already. There like the fn2 with extra yeehaaaa lol
Good, straightforward review and looks like you got a good buy, as I'm sure did whoever bought it off you. I'm in the market for one of these myself, but live in France, where second hand prices for cars make your eyes water (more than double the UK price...!) hence it is a more considered undertaking, so the more of these real world reviews, the better. Had a little chuckle to myself when you mentioned Radio 2 being a good sign... that's something I always used to look for when I bought a car in the UK, a reliable indication of the mechanical sympathy of the owner. Even better Radio 3! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the comment, it is great to know you enjoyed the video. Good luck in your search for a Type-R, you certainly will not regret it once you have found your future car. Thanks for watching, I hope you'll stay tuned.
Picked mine up about 3 weeks ago and an absolute joy to drive. Being a Honda fan, it's a car I've always wanted to try but being a younger driver it made it difficult with insurance however I've finally managed to get one. It was the cheapest in the country at the time of purchase and ofc high mileage with it ticking close to 157k. But backed with full service history and lots of receipts for work done, I didn't hesitate to purchase and I'm absolutely over the moon with my purchase, cracking cars, plenty of fun and definitely the last of it's kind, I'm pretty sure the new ones won't come close in terms of the raw driving factor that you get with this.
Thanks for the comment and great to know you have managed to buy one. I can remember the challenges and crazy costs with insuring cars as a new driver, but believe me it does get easier (and cheaper!). That mileage will be fine on a well serviced FN2; keep on enjoying your Type-R. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the comment and for sharing your positive thoughts on my video. Congratulations on your 11 Civic car history and on owning an FN2... they are brilliant. Thanks for watching, I appreciate the support.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing. The FN2 really is brilliant, so do keep hold of yours for as long as you can - there is nothing else out there like it for high revs and smiles per mile! Also, values are rising so no reason to sell it. Thanks for watching and let me know what you think of our other videos / future content.
Awesome and insightful video! I've been driving my fn2 for 6 months now and always puts a smile on my face. I firstly fell in love with the ep3 but found the interior, seats and overall situation to be a lot more engaging. The fn2 surely was underestimated but till this day, a lot of naysayers! lol
Thanks for the comment; great to hear you enjoyed the video. I imagine you'll still feel the same way you do now about your FN2 in years to come... they are fantastic fun. Thanks for watching and do stay tuned.
I had a couple of civic 16i16v in the 90s, but was a Golf GTI man through and through.. So, roll on 2021/22, my city introduced a “clean air charge” my next door neighbour owned Black 2008 FSH 82k TypeR for 8 years, with the last 2 years of which he had it parked up.. To my amazement his car passed for the CAZ .. So negotiations took place and I became the owner. After 5 months of owning this car, I never drove it,but I overhauled the car, the TYPE R forums informed me on the common problems, water ingress, rusty rear beam etc all rectified. Every rubber bush component, shock absorbers, complete fluid flush, refurbed calliper, disks, pads replaced for OE equipment as not to loose the manufacturers drive. Future proofed with apple play double din upgraded speakers and finished with a 3 stage polish .. The drive is hard but I’m getting used to it.. and starting to enjoy my work commute to work..
Thanks for the comment. Sounds like you have bought a good car and with the preventative maintenance done you’ll have it for lots of years to come. The ride is a bit on the hard side, but that really is my only criticism of the Type R. Enjoy it and watch the value grow. Thanks for watching.
You've also got the 19" Rage alloys on that. Dropping to 18s or 17s will significantly improve the ride comfort, you might want to check if they had coilovers fitted, it's often done to improve the ride, and you said it was quite comfortable (which the seats are, but the ride can be crashy on averagely poor roads with stock suspension). As for the refrigerated glove compartment, there's a dial-type vent on the top right of the glove compartment, to open and close the vent. it basically uses the AC, unfortunately it can also warm the glove compartment slightly I've found, but that might've been when my AC was offline (condensor) but I was still using the AC mode to try and get some air in the summer when I was melting, lol. I heard a bunch about the split rear view when I got mine, but I find it really helps prevent dazzle from drivers behind while still allowing you to see all you need to.
Thanks for the comment and information about the wheels, suspension and cooled glove compartment. Good point about the split rear screen and dazzle, I hadn't thought of that benefit. Thanks for watching and keep enjoying your FN2.
I've just bought a fn2 for £1800 GT model it's a mental car drives normal but when you think your ment to change gear it surges through the revs to 8000 like a turbo charger and the sound is awesome
@@paulprice929nice! Lucky man, I picked one up a week or so ago and it’s got a leak. Doesn’t seem difficult to sort, just a bit of a pain in the ass. Other than that, no issues really and like you say, awesome when VTEC kicks in 👌🏼
I've had mine since July 2021, same spec except mine is in Milano Red. I should say, you've also got the optional extra "Rage" alloys fitted to your car, the "standard" car came with 18" rather than those 19". I've heard it said they make the already firm ride slightly less refined, but they do look great on them. I really believe the FN2 is something of a genuine overlooked gem. The shadow of the EP3 is long and dark, but I don't think it will be long before the FN2 is rightly revered for the ability it does possess. I'm trying at present to save up and buy my partner one, as she's in an FN4 1.4 Type S at the moment and I know she'd love the extra power. Just make sure your valve clearances have been done (Honda say every 25K miles) and the gearbox oil has been changed (every 8 years or 75K miles). The rest of the ailments tend to be rust on the roof (the windscreen trim cut into the paint and let water in), water in the bottom boot (variety of possible ingress points from the roof hinge point to the rear light gasket) and finally under chassis rust (corrosion can be nasty if the car has lived by the sea or not been cleaned off properly in the winter).
Thanks for the comment and useful intel as to what I need to look out for. I agree, the FN2 is wrongly overlooked and will be rediscovered soon, so grab your partner an FN2 Type-R whilst they are relatively cheap because they will not stay that way. Thanks for watching.
3:50 that Octane sticker is referencing Rocket League, the Octane is one of the most popular cars in that game. Also you ask about the refrigerated glove box... all that is, is just another air outlet, on the roof of the glove box there's a circular vent that can by twisted to open and close it, it works off the AC and heating system, capable of either cooling or heating whatever it is that you have in there. I have it on both my Type S and Type R.
Thanks for the comment. I had no idea about Rocket League, so thanks for getting in touch... makes more sense now! Thanks also re. the refrigerated glove compartment, I'll have a look. Keep enjoying your Type S and Type R (both great cars), and thanks for watching.
I had an EP3 about 10 years ago and despite having Nissan S bodies and Evos since, nothing has ever managed to capture my heart the way the EP3 did. I'm considering an FN2 at the moment, thanks for this video!
Thanks for your comment. Sounds like you have an interesting car history and I know what you mean about certain cars just capturing your heart, despite having other 'better' cars. Thanks for watching and good luck for your FN2 search when you are ready.
Clarkson has a lot to answer for this is the best civic of them all Comfort lookes performance with Honda’s reliability what a motor even the R 18 rips and you get 42 miles per gallon FN2’s kick ass 😂👍
Thanks for watching the video, it is fair to say the FN2 Type R continues to divide opinion but I believe it will (probably already has) found its place with petrolheads.
Wow, thank you so much for the kind comment - really glad you enjoyed it. It helps that the Civic Type R is a good car. Thanks for watching - please do subscribe as lots more to come here on the Channel.
ive had my fn2 type R (GT) since Dec 18 and as a guy in his mid 50s now ive had cosworths ,impreza’s bmw’s and all that fast stuff but i must admit i love my FN2 of course its not as quick as a cossie or a scoob but bloody hell its fun to drive when you hit the loud pedal i love the sound when it hits i v tec mode for a n/a engine its bloody good fun ! i won’t be parting with it anytime soon!
Can I ask as a guy approaching 60 if this can CAN BE DRIVEN COMFORTABLY ! ...I have an R53 Cooper S at the moment with GAS SHOCKS fitted ,,,but its still Hard.....
Good review, very underestimated car! :) I drove 2x EP3 for 7y in total and I'm now driving an FN2. Just the perfect follow up if you want that bit more kit but still want to have some true VTEC/driving fun. To me it actually feels like it's glued to the road better than an EP3. Also ... It's a perfect daily driver, the trunk is actually bigger than my Audi A4 break and BMW 3 E46 break I used to own and also has better leg and head room in the back than those car.
i owned my fn2 for over 9 years, loved the experience. for 4 years, the car was stock, then the mod thing happend. carbon tegiwa intake, milltek non res exhaust, tegiwa 421mani, and a proper rolling road map seen me to 226bhp. yes its a lot of money for very little gains (compared 2 turbos) but it totally transforms the car, 9k red line, vtec at 3.5k, flat foot shifting ect ect. proper race car feel. i now own a merc e53, its a total beast of a machine, but on a B road, my ex civic would match it, if not better it! i sold my fn2 last year for 7k, with only 42k on the clock. (59 plate) btw all gt spec cars had a cooled glove box. 58 plate and onwards, were "facelift" which included hids and headlight washers and a usb in the centre console.
Thanks for the comment and information about the cooled glove compartment. These FN2s certainly are a hoot to drive and, as you say, have the feel of a race car. Your Mercedes is of course a better car, but for smiles to your miles the Type-R will win hands down! Thanks for watching - do stay tuned to the Channel.
Thanks for the comment. Couldn't agree more, the FN2 Type-R's looks have really grown on me over the years and continue to really stand out. Thanks for watching.
This Civic is from ‘peak’ Honda when they were selling 120k cars in the UK, now it’s barely 30k. The humble 2.2 diesel was a real wolf in sheeps clothing and the UK fleet market loved them. With this design it doesn’t looked to have aged in the ways it’s successors have.
Thanks for the comment. You are right about the 2.2 diesel, it is a very decent car. Styling and spec will make these FN2 Type Rs a modern classic. Thanks for watching.
@@cornishcarcollectors my 2.2 is remapped. I also have a UK Integra DC2-R, so I know all about what high revs is etc. Anyway, down a local dual carriageway I was following an FN2 in my 2.2, I floored my 2.2 and the driver of the FN2 was absolutely thrashing his. I was AMAZED at how much the FN2 DIDN'T pull away from my 2.2 up to 70mph.
Thanks for the comment, it is great to know you enjoyed the video. If you do buy one, believe me you will not regret it as they are great hot hatches. Thanks for watching.
I own a FN2. 08 plate. GT Version in Red. And its lovely to drive. I agree the seats are great and so is the gear box. The only thing that I don't like the suspension, it's very firm and unforgiving. You definitely won't have any trouble selling yours on, people love them. Also I enjoyed the video.
Thanks for the comment and great to know you enjoyed the video. The suspension is a little firm, but a small price to pay for what is otherwise a wicked car. Thanks for watching.
Still looks futuristic. While not traditionally handsome, I think it handle's it's irregular egg shape and sharp design cues well. It's not busy like the 2012-2020 models. The brand new civics somehow look older because it's a conservative design. I think the FN2 is a nice blend of futuristic and avant garde
Magic seats are where the base of the back seats lift up and lock in place. This wasn't available on 3 door civics though. Ive said for a long time If you can find a good EP3 buy it and stick it away. FN2 prices have stopped falling now and are turning upwards, same applies.
Thanks for the comment and info on 'magic seats'. EP3s are going to be big news in the future and this will help pull the value of the FN2 up; however, the FN2 will appreciate in value on its own merit as it's a very good car. Thanks for watching.
The glovebox is air conditioned, provided the port in the top of the box is open and aircon is on. Very nice review BTW. Had mine 11 years, heavily modified (250bhp) for the latter 8-9 years of that and almost total reliability. Just a dead coil pack and two snapped driveshafts (common issue). Keep up with maintenance and they're pretty bombproof.
Thanks for the comment - glad you liked the video. I really enjoyed the FN2 Civic and can completely understand why you have held onto one for 11 years, particularly with that sort of power. Appreciate you watching, thanks.
Thanks for the comment and for subscribing, I appreciate it. The FN2 is a fab car and does not deserve the criticism; however, I do think things are changing and people are recognising the brilliance of these cars. Keep driving and enjoying yours, they are great. Thanks for watching.
Great video thanks for uploading. I, like yourself, was not particularly taken by the design back in 2007. However i now have one sat on my drive as a car that does it all. Great daily, although at 6ft i wish the seats were lower (i believe that's due to the location of the fuel tank). Huge boot space and a fantastic occasional track car, which IMO is where these cars shine, upsetting much more modern and powerful cars never gets old. The looks grew on me too and i think in this day and age of bland SUV's it really stands out, with enough subtlety to not be in your face.
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed the video. At over 6ft myself I do know what you mean about the seat height, but those sports seats are extremely good (and pretty). The FN2 certainly does stand out and is the last of its breed, so do keep enjoying yours. Thanks for watching, please do stay tuned to the Channel.
It's the best looking Type R to date. (Looks are subjective). I love Japanese hot hatchback especially the naturally aspirated. Or maybe a video of Suzuki swift sport 1.6 ?
Thanks for the comment. The FN2 looks certainly have grown on me and I think they are a cracking looking car today. If a Suzuki Swift Sport ever comes my way then I'll definitely feature it - all bar one of the cars featured on my Channel were owned by me at the point of making the video, so I'll have to go shopping for a Swift! Thanks for watching.
I wanted an FN type R but in the end compromised down to a focus ST170 which I drove around for about a year. Ages ago I had a 12 valve 2.0 EXi Accord Aerodeck which was mental, in one instance actually keeping up with a EP3 on full chat. Thing is I’m now yearning after an FN Type R again and hope to get one early 23. So your vid is valuable research on the model. Thanks for the info. 👍
Thanks for the comment and good luck with your search for an FN2 Type-R... as you already know, they are brilliant! Having said that, I also really like the Focus ST170 - it might not be as quick as the Honda, but I like the styling and drive of the Focus. Glad you liked the video, thanks for watching.
The only serious issue with these cars is the rear torsion beam it rots from inside out and catches the rain water from the outside , so much so the rot can cause rear suspension collapse on older or heavy use vehicles , this increases depending on the severity of the wet climate where the vehicle is owned , a thorough inspection is absolutely essential .
I've seen you posting that exact comment in quite a few videos about the FN2. No, that was never an issue, not any more than any other car with the same suspension setup. Don't know where you get your info from but as a 15 year member of Civinfo, there never was such an issue, especially collapsing suspensions. Maybe on your Vw but not on this one 😊
@@cornishcarcollectors Can't remember the exact vids unfortunately , but the info is out there , I bow to your knowledge , and it wouldn't put me off looking for the right vehicle , all the best .
Thanks for the comment. I know what the "Type R itch" is like and is you don't scratch it, well it will not go away! 🤣 I hope you find a nice one and get have some fun in it. Thanks for the kind feedback on the video and for watching.
Great video enjoyed it. Hoping to upgrade from an FK2 to an FN2 soon. The 'magic seats' also refer to the base of the seats that lift up and lock into place leaving the full floor space free, as well as the option to fold flat, a feature that both my Jazz GE and Civic have.
Thanks for the comment; great to know you enjoyed the video. I did own a Jazz a few years ago and thought the 'magic seats' were a fabulous feature - lots of room in such a small car. Thanks for watching; good luck with the purchase of your FN2 when you are ready.
Great review, I always loved the type R , I would own a fn2 any day , I own a 1500 sport with blu spark upgrade giving it 238 bhp and 320 n m much quicker now cheers baz.
Thanks for the comment, albeit I am not sure I agree. I thought the EP3 and this FN2 both drove really nicely. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Thanks for the comment Eddie and for the info about the Octane sticker. 👍 I really enjoyed the FN2 Type-R, it was a brilliant car. Thanks for watching.
Enjoyed the review! I just recently found out about this gem of a car and I love this thing. Wish we got these here in the States. Have to wait 25 years to legally import something haha.
Thanks for the comment and great to know you enjoyed the video. The Civic Type R is a lot of fun, but out in the States you have lots of cool cars we’d love to have over here! Thanks again for watching.
Thanks for the comment. I think these will be big money cars in the not too distant future, thanks to the unique and short-lived benefit of VTEC. Great cars. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the comment. I suppose Honda missed a bit of a trick limiting production to 3-door, particularly as the likes of Ford (ST) and Volkswagen (Golf GTi) were making 5-door versions of their hot hatches. There is certainly enough room in the back of a Honda Civic FN2 Type-R for the family, but getting in and out with young kids is a bit of a pain. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the comment. I do agree, the wheels look good. As to wheel specification and weight, I am sorry to say I do not know. Leaving the comment here as other viewers may be able to answer your question. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.
Thanks for the comment. I you fancy one then best to buy one soon as prices are creeping up - I am certain they will be expensive cars in the future, particularly standard low milers. Thanks for watching, stay tuned!
Thanks for the comment Des. If you are looking for an FN2 Type-R then you certainly will not be disappointed, they are great cars. Sadly, mine sold not long after putting the video up on the Channel. Good luck with your search and thanks for watching.
Hi. Can you please tell me which product did you used for cleaning the front headlight. I’ve used a Turtle Wax but mine didn’t came out good as yours did.
Thanks for the comment. I use the Autoglym Headlight Restoration Kit - it is a little expensive when compared to similar products, but I have always found it to work well. Thanks for watching the video.
Beautiful looking cars unless you have the horrible plastic grey panels along the bumbers and sides like me 😄 clutch took a while to get used to compared to other cars I've had. Seats are awesome, rust can be an issue, boot leak has troubled many people but can be an easy fix. Overall great cars that are still going strong 💪
Thanks for the comment, I am glad you enjoyed it. I do not remember feeling the Civic was small inside, possibly the camera angle. I really liked the cockpit and dash layout; it felt very comfortable and purposeful. Thanks for watching.
Bit late to comment, I don't think that's actually the GT trim. I think they all had the electric folding mirrors and dual zone climate control. I had the GT trim, which should come with the factory navigation system. This one just has the standard radio/CD player. Also the "refrigerated glovebox" is marketing B/S for having the air-conditioning ducted in there. It was rubbish.
Thanks for the comment. My FN2 Type R is a GT, but even the GT had some optional extras (the spec you mention). I know what you mean about the refrigerated glove compartment! 🤣 Thanks for watching. 👍
I'm looking at an FN2 2011 with 33k , full Honda service history@ £10995 , got a list of questions ready for the dealer Inc has the valve service been done at 25k .....wish me luck ..👍
@@SBBUKGod no , it was a shed , wet paint on tyres and boot lip where they had tried to cover up cosmetic repairs , the interior looked like ten dogs and five kids had lived in it , the shut lines were all over the place , and there was more wear everywhere than there should have been , the whole experience was shady to say the very least , we couldn't get out of the place quick enough , I ended up buying a BMW Z4 coupe instead ......all the best
The EP3 and FN2 K20's are completely different.. EP3 has K20A2 and FN2 K20Z4, they are not the same. Also, on paper, the FN came out as 201bhp but on dyno's they were actually producing around the 210 mark.
Tbf i had too pick between a Fn2 an EP3 high miles or buy a MB6 or MC2 Aerodeck vti B18c4 I bought the vti Aerodeck 82,000 miles £2500 a lsd gearbox and long gears 8000 revs in 2nd at 65 😂💥
Thanks for the comment. I am a big fan of the VTi; I have some experience of the 1.6i Sport MB6 Civic and thought it was a great car. Thanks for watching.
Ohh was it an Impreza at 5:33 ? Though I got my fn2 since a few weeks and coming from a fiesta 1.8l D it is truly amazing in every aspect and especially the engine that is so satisfying Edit : I have the Heritage version and I indeed have the refregirated glovebox
Thanks for the comment and well spotted, it was indeed an Impreza! Nice progression from the Fiesta to the Civic Type-R, you'll have loads of fun. Thanks for watching.
@@cornishcarcollectors Ahah, I was looking for an Impreza originally but it was not in my budget unfortunately Though I'm more than happy with the FN2 and yeah it's nowhere near my old Fiesta The only thing I miss is the audio, because I had the Ghia one but other than that it's a really big upgrade
Thanks for the comment and for watching. Not sure what is going on with your steering, as mine is fairly light and nicely weighted. Maybe check your fluid levels before getting it looked at professionally.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, defo a GT - I believe the sat nav / Bluetooth was an option. Great to know you enjoyed the video, I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Fn2 are more popular now then they where 10 years ago brilliant hot hatch low mileage ones are becoming hard to find also ones made after april 2010 with limited slip differential some going for £11k
Thanks for the comment. Totally agree, the odd design has really grown on people over the years and they are already something of a modern classic. Prices creeping up, but as you say it'll be the low mileage and standard cars (particularly those with the LSD) which will become big money cars in the future. Thanks for watching.
yes they do have a fridge in the glove box, open it up and on the inner roof on the glove box you will find a round disk, Ill let your good self work the rest out
GT is just external trim, It does look a bit nicer with the GT pack though. They have always been good cars and Clarkson has always been 'INVOLVED' with Ford. The FN2 is not quite as nimble and fun as the EP3 but it is still a good drivers car compared to most others of it's time. It also has a better interior and is more practical for day to day use.. The EP3 is of course a little better on track. There is not that much in it though.
Thanks for the comment and sub, much appreciated. Good to know you like my videos - I'll keep making them so long as people enjoy seeing my cars. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the comment and for watching the video. Sorry to say, I sold the Civic a few months after making the video. Good luck finding one as they are great fun.
Thanks for the comment and for watching; great to know you enjoyed the video. My FN2 Type-R definitely is a GT, as I believe the sat nav etc. was an option in 2007 on the GT.
it really is an ugly thing, lol. The glovebox just has a hole at the top which lets the A/c into the glovebox. So if you want to freeze anything you would have to also freeze yourself.
So much hate ! I think the fn2 type r which I have is amazing! One of the last made, handling on a b road will take cars twice the power. Until obviously on a straight. Very reliable, lovely shape. Puts a smile on my face. I have had cars allot faster in a straight line, But what it is made 4 is outstanding and at present my car is stock . But intend 2 spend a few grand to make it a true b road monster.
Thanks for the comment Owen. The FN2 looks do divide people, but look at it long enough and you'll start liking it too... I am certain! Thanks for the information about the glove compartment and thanks for watching, do stay tuned to the Channel.
Thanks for the comment David and well done for owning one of the later FN2 Type-Rs... I assume yours has the LSD? my next door neighbour owned Black 2008 FSH 82k TypeR for 8 years, with the last 2 years of which he had it parked up..
To my amazement his car passed for the CAZ .. So negotiations took place and I became the owner.
After 5 months of owning this car,
I never drove it,but I overhauled the car, the TYPE R forums informed me on the common problems, water ingress, rusty rear beam etc all rectified.
Thanks for the comment and congratulations on your FN2 purchase - you won't regret it, they are great. 👍
Thanks for watching the video.
Did you have any issues with the boot leaking?
@@benm1889 not in mine but it's got a full honda service history so may have been addressed already

Thanks for the comment. I think Clarkson was having a bad day and it's proof he doesn't know it all! Thanks for watching.
You know the same episode that Clarkson slated the FN2, the Stig called the FN2 an “Absolute gem”
Thanks for watching the video, it is fair to say the FN2 Type R continues to divide opinion but I believe it will (probably already has) found its place with petrolheads.
This was the best car video i have ever watched. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment. The FN2 does drive really well, as you say it is a lot of fun. Thanks for watching.
Can I ask as a guy approaching 60 if this can CAN BE DRIVEN COMFORTABLY ! ...I have an R53 Cooper S at the moment with
GAS SHOCKS fitted ,,,but its still Hard.....
Good review, very underestimated car! :)
I drove 2x EP3 for 7y in total and I'm now driving an FN2.
Thanks for the comment. The FN2 is a great daily driver; decent balance of practicality and loads of fun. Thanks for watching.
i owned my fn2 for over 9 years, loved the experience. for 4 years, the car was stock, then the mod thing happend. carbon tegiwa intake, milltek non res exhaust, tegiwa 421mani, and a proper rolling road map seen me to 226bhp. yes its a lot of money for very little gains (compared 2 turbos) but it totally transforms the car, 9k red line, vtec at 3.5k, flat foot shifting ect ect. proper race car feel.
i now own a merc e53, its a total beast of a machine, but on a B road, my ex civic would match it, if not better it!
i sold my fn2 last year for 7k, with only 42k on the clock. (59 plate)
btw all gt spec cars had a cooled glove box.
The glove box was cooled by the Air-Con so if the cars A/C needs regassing no cold drinks !!!
@@tr1k716 yup true.

I think this model just gets better looking! what else looks like this on the road, nothing.
Thanks for the comment. Couldn't agree more, the FN2 Type-R's looks have really grown on me over the years and continue to really stand out. Thanks for watching.
That's a great tip. Tune the radio to BBC radio 2, before selling it.
Always! Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video.
Really good, comprehensive and informative review. Made me want to go and buy one 😊
Thanks for the comment, it is great to know you enjoyed the video. If you do buy one, believe me you will not regret it as they are great hot hatches. Thanks for watching.
Love how it looks, I have a CRZ and it reminds me of that a little, SciFi looks that just haven’t aged!
Thanks for the comment. CRZ is a nice car and, as you say, it is clear from the way both cars look that they are related.
Thanks for the comment and I totally agree; the FN2 was a brave design which has stood the test of time well. Thanks for watching.
I own a 2008 FN2 and love it! No idea why it gets so much hate! Great video! Subscribed also :)

Did you get an fn2
@@paulbrewin6453 not yet no. I was looking at one about a week ago but missed out on it. The ‘type R’ fund wasn’t buoyant enough
Thanks for the comment - I was not aware the rear torsion beam is such an issue. Thanks for watching my video.

They have always been good cars and Clarkson has always been 'INVOLVED' with Ford.
The FN2 is not quite as nimble and fun as the EP3 but it is still a good drivers car compared to most others of it's time.

it really is an ugly thing, lol.
Keep enjoying those B-roads, but remember to keep all of the stock parts so that you can return the car to OEM in the future... value will be in the standard late cars. Thanks for watching and please do stay tuned.
Had 1 of these for 2 months then sold it.My old Clio 200 was much better.
Thanks for watching and for the comment. The Clio 200s are awesome - I have driven one but never owned one; however, I have had a 172 and 182 (both of which were great).
This isn't the gt , the gt has sat nav and climate control ?
Thanks for the comment. The car is a GT; it has the dual-zone digital climate control and I believe the Sat Nav was an optional extra (even on the GT). Thanks for watching.
He said in the video the car has dual climate control
