As an accountant myself, I disagree. You can't blame the failure on them being accountants but more so on them making bad decisions. A good accountant looks beyond the numbers.

If you watch top dead centre, they kinda cover it. But the long and short is, they pulled all funding for car builds and roadtrips etc. Reviews with borrowed cars will be the new norm for this channel.

@@charliejohnson4037 I mean, the "new" CarThrottle isn't bad, it's just super generic and bland. You can clearly see that it's mostly scripted. There's nothing really what makes it stand out and I think the viewer count reflects that. The last Ethan and Jack videos on CarThrottle are all around 300k each (some reached up to 600k), this video here still got 150k, but that dropped down to around 30k (where most of their videos sit at the moment) within three videos. They seemingly don't even manage to get any sponsors for the newer videos.
I'll give them a chance to show that they can come back from making all their presenters run. If i like it, i'll stick around. If i don't like it, i'll quietly, as James May would say, sod off.

It’s clear from the comments that you’ve really aggravated most of your audience. All you had to do was empower the lads to do the kind of things we wanted to see, they didn’t want mega budgets they just wanted freedom to make entertaining content, which was never going to cost you a fortune and made you way more money than it ever cost you. But you got greedy and stopped the fun. These new guys have a really hard job to do. You can’t just replace the stars (didn’t top gear teach you anything?). And where’s the video where you own it and give your side? You can’t just gloss over crap decisions that force your talent out

I’ve got the FN2, I absolutely love it (with the Mugen wing otherwise it looks naked). It gets a lot of hate out of all the type Rs but it’s still an absolute beast
Wait a minute, that FN2 has 22k miles and it's a 2010 model which means it probably has a factory LSD. You can't buy one like that for 2.5k, you could probably buy a 2007 model from Birmingham with 199k miles, 199% rust, a boot full of water and a generous helping of lacquer peel! Also, give the new presenters a chance, obviously Jack, Ethan, Edwin and Mr Kirsten are leaps and bounds ahead of them but it's not their fault, it's the new owners that just don't get it! They don't deserve any hate, at the end of the day, they're car guys just like us.
You definitely want the LSD model, it's better! This is the Honda press car which is a late car, say it's worth around 12-15k GBP because of the low mileage compared to 8-12k GBP for a normal late LSD car. It's OK to start with a cheap early car if you are building a race car though -- you are going to replace the open diff with a plated one anyway in that case. There seem to be quite a few FN2s (down the back) in the MC250 Club Enduro championship. I don't think they would be there if it was really such a terrible car --rather it's cheap, it's fairly reliable, they can be tuned to handle OK, you can get another K20Z4 for 1.5k GBP if you blow it up (or a K24 from an Accord for less, depending on your class).
A better transition to new presenters than top gear. I’ve watched Alex, Jack and Ethan growing up through my late teenage years, from being years off driving to having been driving for 3 years. Obviously I’m going to miss the old trio for nostalgic reasons but I’ll continue to watch car throttle. You are both entertaining to watch and don’t deserve all the flak in the comments.

Couldn’t quite put my finger on where I recognised Alex from. As soon as he started going sideways in a fwd car I quickly realised it was camber and combustion 😂, might not be to everyone’s taste but still a good video!

Alex, really sorry for you bud. I am sure you were delighted to get that job, probably dreamt of it for a long time, but mate, you jumped on a sinking ship. Nothing personal against you or the other future hosts that might join in. All of us joined that channel because of Alex, Ethan, Jack and Edwin. Word of advice - don't try to imitate or copy what they did nor what the major shows do. Find your own footing, otherwise you are in for an imminent failure. For now i am unsubscribing, because that channel is no longer what i signed in for. As for the owners - a lot more people in management and accounting have to be fired. Those people ruined a multi-million pound format.
I personally liked this video, and look forward to more content from these guys. AutoAlex and the topdeadcenter boys leaving has only done one thing. Given us even more content to view. Probably left, the people running car throttle have been apparently really strict with the budget, remember Edwin said they as in him, Alex, Jack, Ethan etc had no control over the budget plus all the cars they buy are property of CT, not any of the CT presenters.
In a world where Top Gear, The Grand Tour are (or will) no longer be in TV, how is having anothee car channel putting out content a bad thing? If you want to watch Alex K, watch AutoAlex, the man's a legend, but lambasting someone whos clearly keen to start their new job is beyond childish. Alex Kersten said himself not to be that person, its not cool. Alex, congratulations on your new job! Youre a natural for the camera and its great to see the FN2 get some appreciation! Also, its great to see Matt again! Best of luck on your new job and please ignore these keyboard warriors. A good majority of us will always be grateful for more petrolheady content in a climate where it feels like our passion is becoming an impossibilty to enjoy at times.

Considering its their first time on camera, I thought the presenters did really well. A little awkward in places but thatll iron out after a few videos. I doubt the CT audience are gonna be kind but i hope you guys stick at it, more car content is never a bad thing
Personally I found it too "polished" and scripted. No banter and camaraderie, and it couldn't have been any less amusing if it had been presented by my old history teacher.
@@discoequipmenthire The back and forth from presenters comes with experience on camera. Which they don't have yet. None of the in car shots were scripted and to me it felt like a lot of it wasn't. It may have felt scripted to you because the challenges were basic and rattled off like a checklist, it just felt like a stereotypical car show. For a first attempt, that's good going. Once they find their footing, they can come up with more unique and interesting videos.
This is ideal, camber and combustion boys know what they're talking about and we get yet another RUclips car channel with TDC. It's a win win for everyone. Great vid
I enjoyed this episode. Nothing wrong with a bit of variety - Car Throttle can exist without the previous crew and we get to watch their other channels too. Never going to complain about having more decent car content on RUclips. Still better than Top Gear on the telly.

It reminded me of them Sections of 5th gear where they had 3 cars of the same category (hothatch) low budget medium budget and high budget (i think it was to a max of 10k back then) anyway good 1st episodes 👍 fingers crossed you make this your own 🤞
Fair play to the new presenters, they have good chemistry. Sadly the bosses need to realise this is not the content that car throttle is know for. We love car throttle for builds and mesing about with cheap cars as thats obtainable for most people. The adventures with good mates is something we all dreamed of doing. It was good relatable and obtainable fun. This is just a copy of carwow or any of the other channels that do pointless drag races and shit like that. Viewing time on RUclips is competitive, this type of video has no value. I really cant understand why they decided to go with this route as the engagement on this style of video with the old presenters was always much lower. Borrowing cars to review is cheaper than buying and modifying but it wont keep your current subscribers. This is not unique, entertaining or relatable. The corporate side of car throttle need to do better. I worry that dennis media made such a fuck up of car throttle that it was sold cheap to the new owners to try and recover some costs before it was worthless. The new owners are going to run it as cheaply as possible and either asset strip or hope that a small percentage of subscribers stick and it was worth the investment. Either way, i feel this was an accounting decision rather than a decision made for the love of good content. Ps. I would like to stress this is not a dig at the presenters. I thouht they were actually ok for a first episode. Good chemistry, he clearly has skill behind the wheel.
To be honest it was becoming more and more clear that there where problem within the CT, no matter what happened you guys deserve your beginning. What I just watched could have well been plucked from an episode of filth gear in 2005..... It's dated crappy car journalism of old. The FN2 did itself proud there. I had one for 5 years moving on from an EP and was always baffled by its reputation.
Sorry guys nothing wrong with the presenters really but the video was soooo long and drawn out. It really didn't have any meaning to it and for you to say at the end of the video that it was "pointless" just backed that statement up ☹️

I’ve got the FN2, I absolutely love it (with the Mugen wing otherwise it looks naked). It gets a lot of hate out of all the type Rs but it’s still an absolute beast
Wait a minute, that FN2 has 22k miles and it's a 2010 model which means it probably has a factory LSD. You can't buy one like that for 2.5k, you could probably buy a 2007 model from Birmingham with 199k miles, 199% rust, a boot full of water and a generous helping of lacquer peel!
Also, give the new presenters a chance, obviously Jack, Ethan, Edwin and Mr Kirsten are leaps and bounds ahead of them but it's not their fault, it's the new owners that just don't get it! They don't deserve any hate, at the end of the day, they're car guys just like us.
And these are RHD prices. A standard LHD version (which you described as "from Birmingham") starts around 6.5k.

You definitely want the LSD model, it's better! This is the Honda press car which is a late car, say it's worth around 12-15k GBP because of the low mileage compared to 8-12k GBP for a normal late LSD car. It's OK to start with a cheap early car if you are building a race car though -- you are going to replace the open diff with a plated one anyway in that case. There seem to be quite a few FN2s (down the back) in the MC250 Club Enduro championship. I don't think they would be there if it was really such a terrible car --rather it's cheap, it's fairly reliable, they can be tuned to handle OK, you can get another K20Z4 for 1.5k GBP if you blow it up (or a K24 from an Accord for less, depending on your class).

A better transition to new presenters than top gear. I’ve watched Alex, Jack and Ethan growing up through my late teenage years, from being years off driving to having been driving for 3 years. Obviously I’m going to miss the old trio for nostalgic reasons but I’ll continue to watch car throttle. You are both entertaining to watch and don’t deserve all the flak in the comments.

Couldn’t quite put my finger on where I recognised Alex from. As soon as he started going sideways in a fwd car I quickly realised it was camber and combustion 😂, might not be to everyone’s taste but still a good video!
Knew exactly how the comments were going to go. 99% of the people leaving nasty comments have never put themselves in front of a camera, especially in front of so many people. See it as a bonus, you get Car Throttle, you get AutoAlex, you get TDC and whatever Ethan & Jack end up doing. Be better.

Alex, really sorry for you bud. I am sure you were delighted to get that job, probably dreamt of it for a long time, but mate, you jumped on a sinking ship. Nothing personal against you or the other future hosts that might join in. All of us joined that channel because of Alex, Ethan, Jack and Edwin. Word of advice - don't try to imitate or copy what they did nor what the major shows do. Find your own footing, otherwise you are in for an imminent failure. For now i am unsubscribing, because that channel is no longer what i signed in for.
As for the owners - a lot more people in management and accounting have to be fired. Those people ruined a multi-million pound format.
I personally liked this video, and look forward to more content from these guys. AutoAlex and the topdeadcenter boys leaving has only done one thing. Given us even more content to view. I don't know why people are saying this channel will be dead, I'd definitely watch more content with Alex Gassman and Matt. Great chemistry it seems!

If you want to watch Alex K, watch AutoAlex, the man's a legend, but lambasting someone whos clearly keen to start their new job is beyond childish. Alex Kersten said himself not to be that person, its not cool.

Considering its their first time on camera, I thought the presenters did really well. A little awkward in places but thatll iron out after a few videos. I doubt the CT audience are gonna be kind but i hope you guys stick at it, more car content is never a bad thing
Personally I found it too "polished" and scripted. No banter and camaraderie, and it couldn't have been any less amusing if it had been presented by my old history teacher.
@@discoequipmenthire The back and forth from presenters comes with experience on camera. Which they don't have yet. None of the in car shots were scripted and to me it felt like a lot of it wasn't. It may have felt scripted to you because the challenges were basic and rattled off like a checklist, it just felt like a stereotypical car show. For a first attempt, that's good going. Once they find their footing, they can come up with more unique and interesting videos.
This is ideal, camber and combustion boys know what they're talking about and we get yet another RUclips car channel with TDC. It's a win win for everyone. Great vid
I enjoyed this episode. Nothing wrong with a bit of variety - Car Throttle can exist without the previous crew and we get to watch their other channels too. Never going to complain about having more decent car content on RUclips. Still better than Top Gear on the telly.

New faces, new direction. Please dont fall into the trap of trying to copy and up keep what the other presenters did make you own path and people will stay. I really enjoyed this type of old vs new. It reminded me of them Sections of 5th gear where they had 3 cars of the same category (hothatch) low budget medium budget and high budget (i think it was to a max of 10k back then) anyway good 1st episodes 👍 fingers crossed you make this your own 🤞
Fair play to the new presenters, they have good chemistry. Sadly the bosses need to realise this is not the content that car throttle is know for. We love car throttle for builds and mesing about with cheap cars as thats obtainable for most people. The adventures with good mates is something we all dreamed of doing. It was good relatable and obtainable fun. This is just a copy of carwow or any of the other channels that do pointless drag races and shit like that. Viewing time on RUclips is competitive, this type of video has no value.
I really cant understand why they decided to go with this route as the engagement on this style of video with the old presenters was always much lower. Borrowing cars to review is cheaper than buying and modifying but it wont keep your current subscribers. This is not unique, entertaining or relatable. The corporate side of car throttle need to do better.
I worry that dennis media made such a fuck up of car throttle that it was sold cheap to the new owners to try and recover some costs before it was worthless. The new owners are going to run it as cheaply as possible and either asset strip or hope that a small percentage of subscribers stick and it was worth the investment. Either way, i feel this was an accounting decision rather than a decision made for the love of good content.
Ps. I would like to stress this is not a dig at the presenters. I thouht they were actually ok for a first episode. Good chemistry, he clearly has skill behind the wheel.

However, Car Throttle needs to realise that we aren't watching for "Car Throttle," we are watching to see the people we like do cool and dumb shit with cars. Or to put it another way, people didn't watch Top Gear for Top Gear, they watched it for Clarkson, Hamster and Captain Slow. We watched Car Throttle for Alex, Jack and Ethan. The fact that the hosts keep changing is suggesting that Car Throttle might be a really shit workplace that doesn't support it's staff.

Everyone freaked out when OG alex left, then Ethan and Jack killed it. Give it time to flourish, most pilot episodes of series feel a bit weird, and this will be no exception. It has potential.
Ethan and jack didn't kill anything in the time they ran the channel I thought the rebuild projects were brilliant, ordinary down to earth car guys working on ordinary down to earth cars........ What I just watched could have well been plucked from an episode of filth gear in 2005..... It's dated crappy car journalism of old. CT should have listened to the talent, and given them a budget to work with to keep them there.

I really hope this goes well. Alex Gassman can drive, and I’ve always enjoyed reading Matt’s articles. This should signal a reboot along the lines of Auto Express/Evo shenanigans of old. We just need to hope the new top dogs aren’t going to piss on their chips again.
