    HI! I purchased an Epson ET 15000 for $600 and I really enjoyed it. The only issue for me was that sometimes one of my colors would print another color and needed to print over and over until the color would appear right. I also didn't like the fact that I had to print 1 colorful print on regular copy paper once a day to keep those inks from clogging when machine was not in use. I loved my machine, the colors were very vibrant and I made a lot of sales with it. I used Cosmos ink and loved it! But I wanted to try something new with an HTV printer and decided to sell my Epson ET 15000. Luckly one of my daughters teacher bought it from me for $600 but with so many supplies. Now I have the Roland BN20a for a year and as a crafter I now want to try out embroidery lol.

    This information is so helpful, thank you! I purchased an Epson ET-15000, cause I could not afford a Sawgrass. I converted it brand new and I regret it. The colors started out great very vibrant and true, but now I cannot get the true colors to press right. The red and pink turn orange when heat pressed. I am now saving for a Sawgrass printer.

    Had lots of problems with my used $250 SG400. The ink runs out quickly and it's very expensive. Sawgrass also doesn't play well with foreign software, in my experience. The Sawgrass ink dump container also fills quickly and it's expensive to replace. Every time you do a cleaning it fills up a lot.
    Bought an EcoTank 3850 at Costco for $300 a couple weeks ago and converted over with Hiipoo ink. I print every day to keep it clear, regular printer paper, if it's just to keep it clean. Ink will last a LONG time. Glad I bought the Epson. The Sawgrass might be good, if money is not a problem, but $100 for ink that only lasts me 3 months isn't workable.

    I purchased an ET-2760 for $200 as well with hippo ink during the pandemic. I am just a hobbyist or make for friends/family so it was not used as often as I NOW understand it had to be. I wasted so much money on ink and then I found a cleaning solution that was recommended to try to flush the lines, but at the end of the day I am recently out upwards of $350 :(. Unfortunately, I am afraid I can't afford a SG-500 at this time and am actually nervous to try again because I don't print enough. Doesn't SG do a self-cleaning though to keep the lines from clogging? I always wondered that. Thank you for all your helpful and honest video's.

  • @Tessiefaye

    I initially converted an Epson 4700 as my first sublimation but I'm an occasional sublimation crafter and after about 4 months of no use it clogged and there was nothing that I could do to unclog it and I had spent $400+ an addition $100 for ink and incidentals. I ended up throwing in the trash can within a year. I have had my Sawgrass for about a year with no problem with clogging and I have used it off and on. It's sat for several months in between printing with no problems. I wish that I had known before I bought the Epson about the clog issue. I've had the same ink in my printer for a year and I waste a lot of ink and paper.

I also bought An A4 size heat press. I should have though ahead because now 6 months in I wish I had bought A3 size. if that is the only ink you purchase since you bought it yes as when you first load your ink most of it goes into your lines. I always suggest having a back up set on hand the next set won't fill like that your not technically low on ink its just in your lines

      I researched so long when I bought my Epson wide format printer. The Epson 8550 prints significantly higher quality photos, about 44% and 8x higher scans 4800x1200dpi vs 5760x1440. The 8550 prints 6ppm faster. The 8550 is smaller and has a larger screen. (Love the screen) 4.3” vs 2.7”. The Epson 15000 is $699.00 and the Epson 8550 is 699.00 at Walmart. I have a converted Epson 2720, a Sawgrass SG500 and an Epson Ecotank 8550. The 8550 is my absolute favorite. Buy the Hippoo ink brand, 6 color ink. You will NOT regret it! I use A-sub paper and I changed my ICC profiles to that of Hiipoo ink. You can look it up, it is easy. I honestly think you would be thrilled with the 8550. I hope my going down the rabbit hole helps you!

  • @T_Nice
    @T_Nice 8 месяцев назад +2

    The only time that an Epson printer gets clogged is if it was converted into a sublimation printer.
    A true Epson sublimation printer that's not converted does not automatically get clogged just because you haven't used it for a few months and I know because I own the epson F170 and will soon be purchasing the Epson SureColor Pro F570.
    I did extensive research on sublimation printers before I purchased my sublimation printer and yes, I almost fell down the rabbit hole of converting a printer but that was right before I found a company that sells the smaller version of the actual Epson sublimation printer which is what I wanted to start with. At the time of my purchase, there were not a lot of companies that sold the epson F170 sublimation printer, so they were sort of hard to find.
    I know business owners that own a Sawgrass that don't even use it anymore and they've switched to the actual Epson sublimation printer in wide format which is the F570 because of certain problems and the ridiculous price tag for the ink.
    SO, with that being said, how can you talk down and bad about a product from a company that you actually have never used or owned, which does not include anything converted because when you convert an Epson printer, that automatically voids the warranty and the Epson company will not help you at all?!🤔

    • @YouCanTotallyMakeThat

      Thank you so much for sharing this info this is just the sawgrass vs the converted Epson printer. I have owned 3 converted epson printers. This is in no way about the actual sublimation printer from Epson. I can't speak on behalf of the actual sublimation printer from Epson as I do not own one but yes I would recommend one but they are more expensive to get into. once again thank you for this info

      There is no way that she can honestly answer that question for you when she has already said that she has only had CONVERTED sublimation printers, which are not the same as an actual Epson sublimation printer.
      I did leave a comment about the matter because to me, it just seems like this video is designed to sell a certain product for personal gain, which I absolutely do not approve of.
      Although I know a lot of RUclipsrs do this very same thing and that is the reason why I do my own research but not too much of it from people who get PR product and get paid by these companies to push their product which would also mean that they can't speak the honest truth about the product even if it was piece of junk no matter how much it cost and why would they care rather you waste your money or not, as long as you fall for it and make the purchase through them so that they can get paid because ultimately that is their end goal anyway.

      Thank you @debbiemcnamee2645 for your kind response I have already told them I can only speak on the printers I have owned and use. The Epson F170 is one that I would recommend as it is made for sublimation so it should work in the same way the sawgrass does and should not clog like a converted one. It's one that Is on my wish list and I hope to bring to the Chanel at some point.

    I have the Sawgrass 1000 and I got the inkjet ink but you say get siser subli and the paper too and say then you can sublmate it on cotton, so should I get those inks and paper and I can sublmate on cotton without doing anything but use the subli ink and paper right.

    Do you think an Epson WF clogs? I'm a super recreational crafter and unless I can find a great deal on the Sawgrass even refurbished I can't get it. But I really want to sublimate. If you convert your do you do the ICC profile thing people talk about.
    If chromablast works on Cotton is it not better than sublimation? Does it infuse into the fibers like sublimation or is it like printable vinyl just thinner.

    • @YouCanTotallyMakeThat
      @YouCanTotallyMakeThat  8 месяцев назад +1

      The epson WF would be the same when it comes to clogged lines but if you do a print head check its small lines once a week you should be good to go. I have never used the icc profile. Chromablast ink feels like a DTF transfer you can feel it on the shirt instead of how sublimation it feels like nothing.

      If I could jump in here and share what I found when purchasing my printers. I just wanted to warn you that the Workforce printers have cartridges. It is going to be more work. You will need to buy the ink and cartridges from your sublimation ink supplier. Those cartridges need to be filled with a syringe. When Epson updates their firmware, the chip in your third-party cartridge will not be recognized and your printer will not print. Your only work around is to never update your firmware, but that can cause issues.
      If you buy an ecotank, there are no cartridges or chips. You will be able to update your firmware. Filling ink is so easy, you turn the bottle upside down on the printer tanks and fill. That’s it.
      I don’t know what price you are looking at paying, but I have the Epson ecotank 2720. I tried another ink, but Hiipoo is far better. Once you choose an ink, you want to stay with it. My 2720 is fantastic and was around $200.00. If you are looking to spend more, the Epson Eco-tank 8550 is fantastic! You will have 6 ink colors with it. Hiipoo does sell one. The conversion is as easy as putting ink in. The print quality is unbelievable. I have the Epson 2720, the Sawgrass SG 500 and the Epson Ecotank 8550 and my 8550 is my favorite. I still use the others regularly, but why pay for that ink in the Sawgrass when I can use cheap ink?
      I hope this helps and I hope you get a printer very soon. I really love sublimation and DTF printing.

    I've had 2 Epsons and I had "clogging" issues until I started to cover my printer when not in use. I do not have to print on the regular, maybe once a month, without issues.
    I'd like to get the 5 tank printer (for white ink) but do not want to mess with the waste bin 🫤.
