Went to Divine Life Society Asharam or fondly known as Sivananda Ashram in 1994 as a 11 y.o kid. After 21 years I went there again with my parents in 2015. The ashram has undergone expansion ever since. The serenity one gets here, is like no other place on Earth i must say. It's truly a simple place to visit yet the tranquility vibrates through your heart. And being able to watch you video in 2018 brought back beautiful memories. Thanks Gabriel! God bless.

Not following to a specific religion does not mean a lack of faith. I am a extremely spiritual person and do not follow a specific religion, yet I am filled with faith.

    • @logangomez1209
      @logangomez1209 4 года назад +2

Some spiritual people have faith. I am one of them. Spirituality is a part of the soul and is part of every person. Doesn't matter what faith they have or lack. Partnered with yoga, a higher undescribable consciousness can be reached.

The Sivananda Ashram is such a beautiful, peaceful and divine place. If you want to expirience practical spirituality and yoga you have to go to this Ashram. I really love the pleace and the divine teachings of it's founders - Sri Swami Sivananda ji.

Some of the buildings in that complex remind me of how the projects used to look in Philadelphia, USA, during the 90's.
    What a contrast....
Its beautiful to see low crime rate. India really is Blessed. Are these ashrams open to the public??

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos

Yes, the ashrams are generally open to the public, so you can just walk in there. But you would need reservations to stay for the night and be involved in all the daily activities.

i think this guy is a part hippie, doesnt subscribe to die hard hippie life style but i think he embraces certain aspects.
i just want to add that the infrastructure of the 'ashram' shown is what is needed in the rest of the city, it is strange why indians just make temples and praying places of good quality, while the gutters are flowing, garbage is laying on the normal streets, rundown buildings with no maintenance. the indian subcontinent in general only decorate mosques/ashrams, temples and make them clean while dont replicate these qualities in the daily life as well.
it was refreshing to see good pavements, nice well maintained clean buildings, no garbage and no gutter flowing for a change.

WTF is there in Gujarath? I mean Dhokla/Fafda.. that's it. It's a dry state (no alcohol).. no meat.. just because it was Gandhi's state. People (most of them) always thinking about money and ways to get others money..Food with loads of chillie & jaggery combined making it taste horrible.. most importantly it is feku's state - who fooled the nation by making false promises ( btw I was feku supporter before)..
Gab- don't even touch this state with barge pole.. there are hell lot of better places in India ( and abroad) to visit.. don't waste your time going there. There the people (most of them) will just be after your money. That's it..

It depends where you're from. If you're from the United States you can get a 10-year visa, but you can only stay for six months at a time and then must leave and can re-enter. If you're from many other countries such as Canada, countries of Europe, etc. then the maximum visa you can get is six months.

correct me if i'm crazy tho, i don't see the Rishikesh location in that list, at all! 🤔

@@marianav9655 I see what you mean, I don't see it either. Maybe it's just listing the other ashrams and not the main one? I haven't been there in years so I have no idea if it's still in operation, but it seems like it would be. Good luck!

I'm not sure exactly how many times but maybe 7-8 different visits. Just because I like it there. :)

Very nice video... but just a little correction.... Hindu is not a religion but a way of life..... its the sanatan dharma which is into 'seeking' than 'believing'.... oldest continual form of human civilisation !
