ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. The cinematography. The storytelling. The risks. The suspense. The beauty. The food. The laughter. The mad skills you have in every department to pull this off. You two deliver on all fronts. I hope this video goes nuts on the view count. It deserves 100K!
Thank youuuu!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻
When in doubt…throttle out 😂 Love it!
Results are 50/50…you either wind up with stuff broken or total success.🤣🤣
Excellent music editing too. Great job. 👍 Rock on 🙂.
Thanks so much and thanks for watching! 😊😊
Wooohooo! way to show that trail who's the boss :) great job with the video.
Haha! I told you I’d do it!🤣 I want to go back, but definitely not taking the van. Thanks for watching, amigo!
👍
That was insane! You made it!! I didn’t think you would!! A big ass can & only 2wd? 😂😂😂😂 you oughta be proud of yourself!!
LOL, thanks Jenny! It was a good adventure😁😁
That had me STRESSED
Hehehehe, so my cinematography is working in other words…?
Mission accomplished! 🤣
Fantastic video. The views are awesome. I enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing. 👍546
Thanks so much for watching!
Instant classic!
We sure hope so!🤣
Chevy world runners ❤
Bahahaha, I’ll let Matt & Stacey know.🤣
Seriously epic wheeling Alex! That torque converter has its work cut out for it on the PAH.
I found your channel a couple episodes ago and I am glad I did. It seems you 2 are one of the few RUclipsRS who actually live the Van Life. I enjoy your videos. Sweet van .
LOL, we certainly try! 🤣 Glad you found us, thanks for following along!🙌🏻🙌🏻
Yahoo!
WOW! I watched Chrome and Foresty Forest try this, and it was certainly scary. However, to watch the two of you, scared me even more, although it also was truly exciting!! The scenery is something that is truly amazing, and I thank you for taking the time to share all of this. Simply amazing, and I can't wait to see what is next. Be safe and enjoy every minute!!
Glad you enjoyed it, Jackie! Thanks so much for watching. We’ve still got another exciting episode ahead following our exit. Stay tuned for that.😉
Glad you enjoyed it, Jackie! Thanks so much for watching. We’ve still got another exciting episode ahead following our exit. Stay tuned for that.😉
I doubt a 4WD would have done it any better. Well done.
Probably just slower.😂 thanks for watching Graham!
The last minute was… well let’s just say breathless. 😮😮😮
Also yes to rock sliders 👌🏼😆
That’s possibly my favourite part of the video. 😁 Probably still won’t go with the sliders just because $$$$ and we just managed to get the van down a couple hundred pounds.
Pretty epic. Love your build. Definitely agree with the motto of a 2WD with good tires airing down, and some recovery gear will get you 95% of places you want to go. You are proving it.
Yep, trying our level best to show instead of just tell.🤣 Thanks for watching, Calvin!🙌🏻
What a beautiful video that leave me without words. Thank you for taking us along with you. Merci ✌️
Thanks for watching!
2wd !!! Nice! Beautiful location.
You betcha!! A truly magical location for sure!😁 Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
Absolutely amazing! Everything about this video! Best one yet.
We thought the same!😁 Thanks so much for watching!
Serious butt pucker stuff there. Wonderful on all fronts.
Hahaha, yeahhh, I’d say so! Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
So good folks! You are a huge inspiration for me for video quality and story telling. Keep the adventures rolling!
Glad to hear it! Thanks Dave, we’ve got lots of adventure to come!🙌🏻🙌🏻
This one left me anxious so many times for y'all but in the fun way where I knew it would work out okay but still had me cringing. I think it’s your best video yet - keep up the good work!
Same here!😁 thanks so much for watching!
Wow, those drone views are “Amazing”.
It’s just the mountains doing all the work, I just put them in a tiny box for people to view.😁😁
Dude amazing video you're guys van looks great too 😊
Thanks Christian!!🙌🏻
Wow...
Again you never cease to turn a cozy Sunday on the couch into a hair raising, white knuckling the remote, biting my nails, action packed adventure. How has Chevrolet not reached out to you and not personally thanked you for the Express capability footage.
You Sir, Mam are true expeditionaries.
Good work, stay safe, stay on the road.
😁😁😁😁 Thanks for this, it made us smile. We’ll keep on working on a Chevrolet sponsorship.🤣
That's hilarious! I know what you mean.
"Fabulous" will be an understatement! WOW!
Thank you! And thanks for watching!🙌🏻
@@SlowRoamers 💯
I remember when @thestorytillnow came through this trail in their $100k jeeps lifted on 1ton axles and 40inch tires and hardcore music… lol… then here’s you guys dancing through in the 2wd camper van! Priceless
😁😁😁 and we went in the harder direction. Thanks for watching!🙌🏻
@@SlowRoamers I enjoyed watching & subscribed! Great content.
@@romeropostali520 most excellent! Thank you!
When I did this trail in 2021 there were multiple landslides and washouts considered impassible. I was the first one to navigate through them, by myself, in my Jeep. The trail is a lot easier now, but back then, this van wouldn’t have made it an hour into the trail. Yes, we have heavily built vehicles. They are not built for just one trail or situation, they are to get through anything. When we did this trail again last year, we also did several side trails that, if attempted by this 2wd can, probably would result in the death of the driver. Props to these two for making it through the trail though. Drive whatever you want, just go on adventures, and be nice to people. No need to be haters.
@@TheStoryTillNow no hate here, buddies comment just made me chuckle. From what I’ve gathered the trail changes a lot from year to year and the difficulty of the trail changes also dependent on time of year. I thoroughly enjoyed your episode when you did the pass on the way to AK, it was a great watch. Happy trails.✌🏼
That’s a sturdy swing out!
The sturdiest!
Great video!
Thank you!!
I cannot believe you two took your van through the Telkwa Pass! I am pretty familiar with this trail and have done it a few times with an ATV but would NEVER attempt it in a vehicle. But after seeing this ... maybe it's not so bad! LOL. LOVE your adventures and cannot wait to see the conclusion to this video ... because I know what lies ahead.
Hahaha, that is the very sentiment that we get from EVERYONE we talk to and tell about taking the pass. We’ve had a lot of, “WHAT?!” Next episode is on Saturday morning, it’s a good one!😉
absolutely amazing and love the positively to keep going.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Thanks Tony!😁
A Grand Adventure!! Absolutely Epic, just the right amount of all the Right equipment.🤙🤙🔧🛠️🔧Locker, Weight, Suspension, Tires and Winch. Ingredients 4 success. I personally appreciate the 4speed NP435 because of the Granny 1st, But a built Auto and some smallblock H.P. , 2WD gits it done. Kool Vid and the Spectacular Mountains and trees WOW🤙🤙🏁🏁.
Just the good ol’reliable 4L80e in this one!😁 I love wish I had np241 though…thanks for watching!🙌🏻
Hey, it was nice to meet you guys at Top Lake. Funny you mentioned Chrome... I met him there the day he couldn't get through. Thanks again for moving the boulders. Can't wait to see if you made it.
Y’know, I thought that was you!!! I recognized the Tacoma. You’re quite welcome. I wasn’t sure if people would appreciate the clean up or not, some like more of a challenge…so it was a hit or miss. Thanks for watching!
Give it the beans!
FRIJOLES!!!!!!
You guys are so cool…
Naw, you’re cool.
Awesome video! I've been through the Telkwa Pass many times on ATVs but seeing the bird's eye view from a drone was great. I just wonder how the next hill past the lake went.
It’s a great route. Stay tuned, next section is on Saturday at 9am.😉
EPIC !
😁🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏼
Absolutely amazing! What an adventure. Who knew all you needed was Patience and a Winch.
Haha, don’t forget the dumb luck!!
Best video so far ! You guys are killing it ! Drone - Tire - Winch -sponsorship in your future !

The best we’ve ever had!
Man, that was a pleasure to watch. Brought me to tears in a couple points. I've been traveling around in my van for 3 years this July. Just made the journey up to Alaska last month. It's so cool seeing your footage. I know what you mean when you said you can feel that you're North. What a treasure. Great job guys.
Aww man, so glad to hear our stuff is evoking emotion, that’s amazing. Thanks so much for watching! Aren’t we lucky to wander such incredible country?!

I remember the episode w/Simon hitting up this spot. Haven't seen the one w/Chrome yet. Epic spot! Great video!
Those two episodes were basically the only intel I had going into the trail! LOL. It really is an incredible spot, well worth the work to get there. Thanks for watching!
Just came across your channel. Great video work and storytelling. Looking forward to the adventures ahead!
Awesome, glad you found us! Thanks for following along, we've got loads of adventure ahead.
I like you guys… really wish I could watch more of your videos. Have to skip through most of it though because it’s just too dang stressful. Can’t fathom how you both remain positive throughout… Best of luck you guys.
Ooof! Sorry about that! We don’t do this kind of thing all the time, just when the opportunity presents itself. Thanks for watching…as much as you can.😁😊🙌🏻

Freakin' epic guys! Making us want to equip the ol' chevy for more rugged terrain 😅. Reeeeally getting excited for the journey north. Safe travels out there, but more importantly, keep having fun. Also, the drive looks sweet but Meg's cooking... C'mon 🤤
lol! Once you catch the bug, it’s hard to keep your wallet full, so be careful!🤣 That good cookin keeps us fueled for all the rock rolling we do.
Impressive driving terrific landscape raw beauty of nature fantastic efforts by both of you thanks for the wonderful vlogue ❤😊.

I could comment on how much i enjoyed the scenery, the cinematography and drone footage or maybe the editing and choice of music etc, but i wont.
Ill just say 1 word. Epic. That is all. Simply epic.

Great job on the video! That camp spot and road is epic! The Canadian Rockies never disappoint!
Now to find that road in the ole Northern BC BRMB! Cheers from Vic BC! Can’t wait to see more!
Thanks Adrian! We’re pretty lucky out here to have so many places to explore!
Guys you need a gmrs radios to communicate while doing offroad fun!
Luckily we have two…but don’t use them unless we’re in a convoy.
Nice work, epic mountains!
Thanks for watching!🙌🏼
I found some wifi and so had to watch my favorite Canadian overlanders! Again, epic! You guys made me nervous on this one. Stupidity and some traction got you a whole lot of action! As always, well done! Not just the trip , but the artfully composed video too. Keep roamin’ (carefully)!
Weeooo! So glad you enjoyed it! It was fun…and challenging to shoot, but the chance to tell that story was great and I savour the chance to share it with others. Thanks as always for watching!
I don't know if I've ever messaged you, however chains on a two wheeler are amazing, I drifted a old farm truck up a frozen solid road up into the hills.
There have been a number of people who have suggested this. I may try them one day. I’m not sure if they’d really help in this instance since we have all the traction we needed, anything we lost would be on account of loose rock.
I saw you guys in Canada just recently
Well, that makes sense seeing as we're Canadian! Where were we?😆😆
@@SlowRoamers one of the gas stations and I think I saw you at Safeway

I REALLY liked your idea of dropping in a tranfer case just to gear down ...makes a lot of sense. I guess 19.5s aired "down" to 85 psi just arent gonna cut it. Lol. I singled out a Quigley cutaway to 19.5 railroad rims. Cant go below 85 or so. Lol. Incredible job. That was amazing... gotta say, i am liking two spare tires.😮 that's REMOTE.
That’s the only thing we’re missing now for sure. Two extra tires is a lot of extra weight, weight is the silent and slow killer of vehicles. Keep that in mind.😁
@@SlowRoamers i just embrace the heavy. ..and plan for it. I run 19.5 tires for that reason and don't/haven't done your "rock crawling" ...its impressive for sure.
This was awesome. Unfortunately there have been a few 2wd vehicles that have done this.
I figured, but were they cargo vans…?😉
@@SlowRoamers Yes. Ones without a RUclips channel and/or whatever many followers on social media. 😉
@@rschreck876 dang, I would have liked to see that.
Epic. This one is EPIC! Your cinematography and narration is perfect Alex but jeez! You had me stressed on the drive in😓

Amazing video as usual! However Chrome at Vancity Vanlife went through there in his 2wd van about a year ago 😉 😂 just bugging keep up the amazing content
He went up the same way but then turned around at the first steep section.😊
Ya.... Chrome didnt make it that far. That Steep secton was way too much for his rig. And he never airs down that far.

Great video you 2 !
And only Meg can make tofu look that good 😊!
I thought I told you! When we were talking last time. Oh well, this is the trail i was saying the ambo would have a pretty hard time with, mainly because it narrows down in so many spots.

That’s a great title for ALL YOUR VIDS. “Overlanding in 2WD vehicle”. The algorithm will no doubt go nuts in your favor! Cause many more people have 2WD and think Overlanding is out of their reach. Ofc it is if it isn’t lifted with beefy tires, but they will find out AFTER they click on your vids. Ha! $$$$
lol, oh we’ve been trying. We’re pretty sure most people are actually more interested in 4WD’s…oh well, we’ll continue to send it.
@@SlowRoamers ah, they are just conditioned. 2WD,rs still exist! But yes 4x4 is fashionable. Bon Voyage!
@@bdmenne indeed it is! Happy travels to you as well!
@@SlowRoamers i found you guys looking for 2wd videos specifically.
@@patrickfight1 NOICE!! See?! 🙌🏼. Slow and steady wins the Algo-race.
I’m FAR from Overlanding myself. As I drive in a Dodge Caravan 2006 STOCK. But when I went to Arizona Desert, I decided to go up some buggie off-road trails in those badlands ridges in my FWD.
I was impressed.
I drive up in NM mountain snowed-icy passes and passed up semis in one lane Arctic blasted Southern states.
Sure it was all harrowing, but I started to see that 2WD have got some capabilities.
Fantastic photography!! I am looking into getting a chevy van with a Quigley conversion but am stuck on V8 or the V6. The V8 only gets 13 mpg highway. What does your 4.3 V6 get on highway?
We have a 4.8L v8 and we get around 12-15mpg depending on what kind of driving we do. The van weighs 8700lbs, so it’s a lot to move around. If you keep your van light with the v8, I think you’d be surprised how much better the mileage is.
If you need to worry about the mileage you'd better pick a different vehicle. Vans/trucks/jeeps= bad mileage.
@@reidcrosby6241 I was glad I had a truck that got above average mpg in the late 1970's. Gas rationing was in effect restricting amount of fill ups, alternate days allowed to get gas and always long lines. An extra 3 mpg gave me an extra 60 miles on a tank -- which meant less time in a gas line or waiting for your alternate day to come up. With the anti carbonites gaining power in the US, wars in middle east, wars in Europe and instability in the China sea -- I would not be surprised to see rationing again. And that extra 3 mpg will be very welcome.
@@locomotivebreth1910 my point was IF you want full size van /vehicle and are going to load it down, you CANT escape the "inefficiency" ... many times an overworked smaller engine will get worse mileage and increased wear/tear. I had a 10k pound 2014 v10 ambo, 5r110 automatic, got 15-15.5 mpg in mountains at 65mph. Thats impressive in my mind. I am running a 12-13k 2003 4x4 Quigley and just got 13 mpg (without any chip upgrade) on hilly state roads in WV. With a chip, better air flow, highway speed of 65 prob get 15-16.
Chrome is a wuss!
lol, I can understand his hesitance to do that climb, it almost had us turned around.
The only thing you really need to be careful about is if your rear wheels hop off the ground under momentum. Because when they come back down and grip the ground you could break an axle shaft. Chromoly axles would be a good upgrade.
Great job getting through there 👍👍
Spoilt only by the music.
Can’t please everyone.🤷🏼♂️

Great filming. I loved it up there - I drove over Telkwa pass last year (going the other way). Had to winch a big tree out of the way to get up.
It’s a pretty darn special spot for sure. Seems like there’s work to be done on the trail every year.
