    This is very detailed, not many tutorials out there with this level of detail. It was nice to see the slow-mo, but what a shame it was in a small frame! Also, it would have been useful to have the camera closer to you when you were dummy swinging, at the end for example you're referring to the finger snap while you did a swing but the camera was so far away it was difficult to make out the timing.

      Thanks, I can see what you mean. I will include that in new videos about this subject. Thanks for the input.

    you are 100 percent correct. here in court everyone tells to hold like V. that is not the right way.. i dont feel it comfortable..i dont understand why no body tell to hold racket by that bevel grip. that is is the best way to hit smash..otherwise the you will have to turn your body a lot. also with that grip. you dont have to change everytime for all kind of shorts..so it is best to rest your thumb on bevel grip for smash as well back hand.. it will wor for both as well as for every thing else.;;

    But i have a question. this grip actually injures your wrist..my wrist is now in continous pain but i still do the same.. idont care about it anymore.. do you also experience that?

  • @TK-jump
    @TK-jump Месяц назад +1

    When i try this i can't grip the racket with my thumb, i have to hold it a but more closed like the way you show how you shouldn't hold it. The way you hold the racket appears to me so delicate, i can't hold onto the racket and control it with the snap if i hold it so gingerly like you do. My racket grip is not worn or anything either....

    • @ShuttleLife
      @ShuttleLife  Месяц назад +1

      I practised this for so many years. You will be able to hold the racket way more delicate if you practise it for a longer period of time 😊💪
      I make sure the rackets I get is with the smallest grip possible to get the most snappye effect possible

      understood, its a matter of practice then. I'll try with a thinner grip size too see if that helps. That would have been helpful to mention in the video too btw! Glad to get more gems from you in the comments though!

    Do you use legs for the smash? Hm only arm

    • @ShuttleLife
      @ShuttleLife  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, the movement actually starts from the legs & hips. But learning to use the arm, forearm and fingers the right way gives you roughly 80% of the power. The legs is good for putting additional weight into the shot and create a more powerful shot.

    It's a racket swing not a shoulder swing! 👍

    • @ShuttleLife
      @ShuttleLife  Месяц назад

      At what time do I say shoulder swing?
      Otherwise thanks for clarifying for everyone out there that you can't throw your shoulder if they are supposed to think so 😊🙏

    • @djhmax09
      @djhmax09 Месяц назад +1

      @@ShuttleLife you don't. I was reinforcing the point in your video that being relaxed is the key. Many beginners swing with their shoulders which signifies how tense they are. But if you think of it as a racket swing it helps visualize that you must be relaxed and let the racket head go forward first

    Fun fact: You don't get time in a real match to do all this. So, find your best grip everytime you hit a shot.

    • @ShuttleLife
      @ShuttleLife  Месяц назад +8

      Another fun fact: if you practise this you have plenty of time in a match 😊 Do you expect pros just to find a random grip?

    • @munishyadav456
      @munishyadav456 Месяц назад +1

      @@ShuttleLife Its better to teach such movements from a neutral racket holding posture. You will see that none of the pro players have so much exaggerated gap/loose grip before any shot. And with the shuttle coming very fast from all directions it's better to hold the racket steady.

      @@sivasankerka8625 Even in power smash you won't see this much gap between the fingers of pro players. I'm talking about the advanced level if you know what I mean.
