I WONT LIE, THIS MOVIE WAS DIFFICULT TO WATCH! i left nauseous and with a headache. THAT BEING SAID, i loved the creature design and the visual effects department did a phenomenal job! well cast. well acted. and i really enjoyed the way the story played out once the creature was introduced. it FELT real! major kudos to all involved with bringing this film to life.
I just watched this movie the other day for probably the fourth time, and every time I watch it I am amazed. This is almost like watching a magician give away their tricks, but just to know how they do this blows my mind. I'm still trying to figure out how to draw stick figures, and these people are putting anatomically correct muscle structures on fictitious 300 ft monsters! And I really appreciate being able to see the monster and it's full glory. It's disappointing when the movie doesn't show the monster enough, for me, especially when creators have gone through such great lengths to create an awesome specimen.
21:33 that guy at left talking to JJ Abrams looks like he's wearing the same shirt as *Howard Stambler* in *10 Cloverfield Lane* lol Coincidence i think not......!!!!!!!!!!!! XDDDDDDDDD
2:52 is in my top ten least convincing effects in a big budget movie. Liberty's head travelled half a mile in a second and then stops in a few feet. The shaky camera hides the really bad physics along with a strategically placed car that apparently has enough mass to slow it down. It seems to have a scale problem too, when it hits the building it seams lifesize, but considerably smaller on the ground. A child could tell you it looks wrong. They movie does has some very realistic CGI - it all add up to less than a minute - just enough to make the money-shots to drag you to the cinema only to leave dissapointed. The thing that annoys me the most, is not that CGI 'experts' don't understand physics, it's that they assume we don't. And yes, I could do better. Give me a file with the path that the head follows and I will add real physics to it, and still get it to end up on it's mark. And yes I was the kid that said David Banner should get stretchy pants - and how come Superman's cape is bulletproof.

Now THIS is how you use CGI and VFX with practical sets.
Still one of my all time favorite films. I can't wait for the next one!
There is going to be a sequel to this film. Great! I'm a fan of the original one. Remember I followed the viral campaign for this film.
There's been two already

@@olleselin is there a date? or year
It's amazing to see how well this still holds up visually in 2024. The VFX was done so well. This is still one of my favorite movies.

Watching behind the scenes videos are always interesting
Ready for the sequel
Cloverfield (2008) & Chronicle (2012) are the two best Found Footage Films hands down.
Crazy movie. Saw it with my mom in the theatre.
This movie is so underrated.
I love this film
"IT'S A LION!" "IT'S HUGE!!!"
I feel like we should have the model of the monster so people can use it for other neat stuff!
