Hi Barry. No rain today ! Sounds like the USA. Out of stock , long lines at the grocery store. Out of order for laundry machines, atms. Vending machines. Hospitals are understaffed and long waits for appointments.
We went to S&R last week, had plenty of food there. I haven't had to go see a Docter lately, but haven't heard of any problems of seeing one. Maita does our laundry in our washer then hangs the clothes out to dry.. Life is good here.
Power outages, rude people, Filipinos have no morals, scams, liars, thieves, con artist, terrible Infrastructure, terrible medical care, very poor Internet, karaoke, dogs, roosters, cats all screaming like hell, neighbor plays radio too loud, I'll stay in the USA.
@ Ireland is changing like most countries .. not sure if it’s for the best or not .. difficult for the younger generation especially when it comes to housing … I think our generation had it better ..
Medical and its costs are a major mystery to most folks as when we leave the United States, we also leave our Medicare behind. How much cash should we have on hand for emergencies or medical care. Is philhealth worth it and is a private insurance provider worth having. As we get older, we need to know this information so we can be prepared for the inevitable to come. I firmly believe in the ounce of prevention being better than the pound of cure . Filipinos are deathly afraid of the hospital because many don't come out yet because of their fear they don't go in until they are too far gone.
I get my check-ups at the VA health clinic in Manila. I can also get vaccines there too. It doesn't cost me anything. I also go to the hospital in Tagaytay when I need to see a Specialist Dr. That costs about $20 us. Philhealth is ok, but I didn't choose to get it. There are other health insurance you can purchase, but I haven't looked into how much they cost. As for emergencies, have enough to go back to your home country if you may need to go back. Or, have enough to pay cash it you need to be hospitalized. There are some really good hospitals in the Big Cities. You will need topay cash before admitting you or before you will be released by the hospital. That is what we will do if we had to.be hospitalized. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have. One other thing, I was able to lose 35 lbs quickly when we moved here. I also feel better since we moved here.
Im 42 years old and yesterday i broke my foot stepping off a sidewalk wrong. I am laying in bed in agonizing pain. Cant even walk. Before this injury i was healthy as a horse. Dont take your time and health for granted people. If you want to move and be an expat do it before you get some type of health problem. They can come at any time out of NOWHERE.
Thank you for your good comments. I had health problems like Vertigo, High Blood pressure, etc before we moved here. Most of my medicines I can find here in the Philippines. I found a dietary suppliment made here that has taken care of my high blood pressure, and I do watch out for where I am stepping. I have had fewer falls since I have moved here. The climate here has been great for me. Doing vlogs has kept my mind active. The newness of the enviroment has kept my brain active in learning about the new stuff I have around me. I am 82 now, and enjoying my life here. Good luck to you on your injuties.

That’s because you’re living in the wrong location. I never experience this where I live.
