@FBHI sum 41 didn't release a single record in the 90's. they just released a sick record, maybe not strictly punk but just as heavy as anything they've ever released. green day's new record is amazing, they're music has meaning now, the lyrics aren't "when masturbation's lost it's fun". blink had 4 amazing singles and 10 other incredible songs on their last album and are in the studio right now. they're not dead, they're different. live with it.
@sdistortion83 his last show was in Vegas on July 18th. He quit the band to focus on his family. I forgot who replaced him for the rest of the tour though.
Mxpx tour as MXPX allstars now... Yuri quit a few months ago as was already stated and Tom no longer tours 100% as he has had to take a permanent job to support his family! Its sad but at least Mike is still trying to keep the music alive!
@FBHI What about NOFX, Bad Religion, No Use For a Name, Bouncing Souls, Face to Face( coming out with a new album soon), Guttermouth, Lagwagon, Less Than Jake, Propagandhi, etc. All bands were around in the 90's and are still here. I know that NOFX, Bad Religion, and Guttermouth were formed in the 80's, but they were a definite punk force in the 90's as well.
@FBHI Since when is Sum41 a "90s" band ? Their debut album was released in 2000. And what about New Found Glory, then? Their last album kicks ass, sounds a lot like their older stuff (produced by Mr Hoppus, by the way)... Then, as @bglad4life mentioned, there are tons of other bands that were born in the 90s and still rock.
@XXMikeyMayhemXX My point is that Punk is a state of mind, which includes complete artistic and spiritual freedom. What you are saying is, that you abandonepop culture like the pop culture abandones punk. It's like two poles neutrulizing each other. Punk is not about NOT being popular. Punk is about being yourself and showing the world that you have an opinion. Green Day is the definition of Punk if you ask me.
@punx8086 I agree with blink 182 and green day not being punk bands but mxpx had good music for all the albums up to slowly going the way of the buffalo. Then It disintegrated until left coast punk, which is a better.
@XXMikeyMayhemXX No, I honestly don't get it. First of all, Justin Bieber and commercial shit like that doesn't have an opinion. Bieber doesn't think for himself. He is a product of society, as where Green Day rose from the underground to gain respect from a world-wide audience. It's a natural development, and it has absolutely nothing to do with SELLING OUT or anything like that. Once again I have to say, that Punk is a state of mind and not a rule book. a true Punk will understand what i mean
@XXMikeyMayhemXX Yes, I am very serious. It's a fact that Green Day is Punk Rock. And your definition of Punk is so stereotypical. Actually it's kind of ironic because Punk is about not being a part of someone else's conformity and not following the peers. If you look at your own statement, that means that Punk is exactly the same as being a part of pop culture. You judge people who don't think like you. Isn't the idea of punk to be YOURSELF and not like the others. What you say is bullshit.
obviously the person with the comments about those bands dont know a thing or two about punk. I'll give him credit for mxpx, old blink is good, sum 41 i never rly liked and old green day pre-American Idiot is good. But NOFX is still around as well as rancid, screeching wease, alkaline trio.. but i guess if u like watered down mtv pop punk bands fine
blink 182 is coming back tom just hada work the kinks lol.. real punk= blink 182 + mxpx ... dude if they had a concert together thatd be fuckin sick!!!
@FBHI lol, maybe you should erase Green Day from that list. Green Day is the god of Punk Rock!! If it wasn't for Green Day there would be no MXPX. But don't get me wrong, MXPX rules!!
@JzXify meaning they ditched their controlling christian label, so they could make the music they wanted?....they're the only punk band alive! they said "fuck you" to the hand that feeds manna and moved to the hand that feeds money. their music hasnt changed in 20 years. any band that opens for reel big fish is ok with me
@mistermcawesome they're all above ground but their music died years ago....now they all play "raffi" music. shameful. blink and sum were ALWAYS embarrassments to the punk community. they were like muppets playing kazoos.
its good to see MXPX still doin good :D
hey guys dont forget Guttermouth, they still doin good since the 90s also

@sdistortion83 his last show was in Vegas on July 18th. He quit the band to focus on his family. I forgot who replaced him for the rest of the tour though.
