Fourteen years ago, at university, I met a fellow student who looked just like that guy. That line actually describes the clue of that song completely. It's not the fact that the guy is white which lead to being rejected. It's was because his entire behavior was just fake and that h's trying to be someone he's not, and he refuses to accept that. But the way that line was formed was indeed very funny yet very harsh.

I went to a wedding reception fairly recently, and me and my cousin requested them to play this song. They didn't play it for a while since a lot of other people were requesting songs as well, but when they did we were full on explosive screaming while everyone stared at us awkwardly. Jesus. Hard to believe this was 1998. It still sounds pretty fresh, in my opinion. Music video is obviously dated, but the humour and music feels almost timeless. Watching this makes me so happy! Definitely one of the best pop-punk performances of the time.
It's sad that music from 1998 is still relevant when today's music isn't. Not sad for 90s music, sad for today's. I used to listen to The Offspring back in the day, and they're still kicking other bands' asses.

I'm sure many boomers out there would have been dismissive of Offspring at their peak, whilst exonerating big bands from their day - including those still releasing music around the turn of the millennium. Perhaps it is no different with us. We could just be stuck in our time, as seems to happen with every generation.

They are an actual punk band. They are not pop punk. on the other hand this song can be interpreted in a couple of ways. It is a criticism of both the people that treat them terribly but also the guys that are full of themselves trying to act like they're all gangsta because they don't like to be white. Kind of weird how nuanced a song can be even if it's pure fun and satire.

This may sound weird as hell, which is kind of because it is, but I'm currently in a DnD campaign where The Offspring are kind of important. To make a long story short, basically, my PC, Edward, sat down on some sort of chair with divine power, as a result, Edward now has a High Elf Bard named Cain living in his head, he wields an electric guitar, and every time Edward goes to sleep, he is faced with Cain, who is typically playing SOME SORT of song from The Offspring.

Being 54, and having lived in Long Beach, CA in the 90's, this song always made me laugh. No so much as recently, as some little Brit-boy's channel showing up on my feed... And he thinks he's all G-cool! LMFAO! I think they might have written this song for him

It's my first offspring album,I bought it for $2 only knowing this song
Now it's one of my favourite albums of all time.
