Honkai impact 3rd actually had these game modes that highly resemble Zenless Zone Zero Gameplay . You could even call A post Honkai Oddessy Zenless Zone Zero Alpha .
Having played that much my expectations for ZZZ are kind of in the gutter . The only iteration it really adds to the combat is like high quality cutscene QTEs that are more fun to look at than they are to actually play .
I’ll give ZZZ a chance because Nichole but beyond that my interest is low .

The way they treat Genshin and give all the features that Genshin players want to HSR makes me not want to touch any games from Hoyo anymore. It seems the real reason they don't want to give endgame combat to Genshin is so players will play their other games.
Genshin is trolling the playerbase at that point, that new endgame mode just ain't it compared to what hsr added with the simulated universe

As a Wuwa player, I'm not planning on playing ZZZ myself, but I still hope it does well. The more competiton in the market, the more they can't sit back and let the "the other guy" come up and steal their playerbase, resulting it better quality and more free stuff.
Its not exacly the same example, but just look at minecraft a few years back for example. Once Hypixel announced Hytale, Microsoft was forced to put out content update after content update because they were afraid that Hytale was going to steal their lunch. And now that Hytale's basically got no news years later, the minecraft updates basically stopped happening.
Dude, it's not about producer. Hoyo intentionally held off any improvements/rewards in Genshin to sell their other products and spread Genshin audience around them. HSR has more rewards, because Hoyo wants it to look better and more generous in comparisson to Genshin (not because it is a different team/producer; the ones who decide such things are from top echelon of the company). It is also important to note, that HSR wants players to play daily to stay relevant so they don't switch to another game (thus more rewards/new modes), and Genshin actually wants their target audience of casuals to regularly drop the game (because they will come back on big patches regardless, and better if they don't have any f2p savings).
They flopped with only 20k live viewers despite having 50 Million Pre-registered Players. They even scheduled their Livestream at the same date as WuWa patch 1.1 launch but didn't work well for them.
It REALLY hurts their streams when the timing is just terrible, it’s 4AM pst, 7 am est for just the US imo, I feel the us is a large portion of the en market and having the time just SUCK for a third of the region probably hurt their numbers a lot.

Even though Wuwa had rocky launch it seems to be retaining the players and doing phenomenally well especially the trailers getting 2mill+ views. Hoyo probably didn't think it would have that much of an impact

If you want to compare the "generosity": Wuwa was giving out 5* characters out of desperation and not generosity. Game was so bad they needed to largely sacrifice their profit just to keep at least some portion of people in the game.

@eeeeepy This is pure cope. There were some issues yes, but not anymore than with other games. If it was Hoyoverse they'd just give you 1 pull and move on for similar problems. WuWa has already raked in over 140 million dollars and is an insanely good game on all accounts. If they solve the optimization issues that are mainly on mobile it'll be golden.
Also the idea that generosity sacrifices profits is delusional. If you give a 10 pull to all your players, most of those are F2P who wouldn't have spent anyway. The big money makers are whales who'd spend hundreds pulling for dupes regardless of a few extra pulls.

Didn't even know about ZZZ's livestream. Was playing WuWa patch and downloading Dawntrail expansion for XIV. Not really looking for another gacha to add to my rotation and backlog, and ZZZ doesn't look like enough to reconsider that.

brown dust 2 gave 400 pulls for the anny (can confirm, started playing 2 weeks ago, Play 2 accounts, one no pulling which has over 600 pulls).
nikke gave 100+ pulls and a maxed limit broken 5 star for a HALF anny (alright unit for campaign and mob clearing in tower).
Genshin? gave 13 pulls and a 4 star for 3rd year anny, no half anny, the previous ones were also 10 pulls (which they were forced to give because of player outrage at the 1st anny).
star rail? gave 20 for the anny and a free 5 star in a patch before(alright back then but severely powercreeped now).
What i am trying to say is, just don't have high expectation from a stingy company like hoyoverse. the way they are treating their games, specially genshin, shows they want the most amount of profit with the least amount of effort.
just keep an eye out when the game comes out, and spend money wisely, lest this game becomes a money burner like star rail, where the unit you spend money on has a high chance on being powercreeped a few patches down the line (ex Luocha-huohuo 1.1-1.5, jing yuan/blade--Imbibitor Lunae/jinglu* one got power creeped patch after patch one after another 1.0/1.2-1.3/1.4 accordingly.

A rant about star rail-
Star rail has a severe power creep issue, and its effecting me severely, as i put all the first gems i got into seela when the game launched, got her at e2, didnt know what i was doing back then as i was kind of new to gacha games.
after that couldn't get silver wolf because of 50/50, after that mostly pulled support units(luocha,fu xuan),
as for dps units? only managed to pull blade and either lost 50/50 or didnt have enough to pull for inhe lune and jinglu. this went on for 3-4 months,
i quit after that and joined again when dr ratio was given for free and kept playing on and off.
Now i dont have strong enough dps to even clear hard content except simulated universe (which isn't even hard content, you can clear it with 1/2 units if you want to).
now i don't even want to put in effort to raise the random units i acquired to try and fix my account. i just farm artifacts and collect the daily rewards, maybe do sim uni once in a while.
I kind of just want a kafka on my account, and that's the whole reason im still playing this game. Hopefully, by the time her rerun comes i will be able to save enough for 90 pulls (lost 50/50 trying to pull firefly. FML).

What do you want him to do? Be excited for a furry character while he clearly states its not his cup of tea? He's not hating on anything he has preferences and he's stating them. He never said what the game should be he said what he expectations are and they weren't met according to him. And it's normal to compare zzz to wuwa

He has a very dismissive attitude towards them, and gave little to no meaningful explanation, except the shark maid, but only on her bust size. He at least described why he's tough on kid characters. People with dismissive attitudes tend to overlook or ignore important details of a character which may lead to Misinformation. He seems like a cool and smart CC, I was just trying to remind him to also focus on "ALL" characters core mechanics and team roles, not just the initial aesthetic design. Just a cautionary tale friend.

As an artist, I can appreciate any cool design. As a gamer I can appreciate any fun unique mechanics that design implements. I'm no furry, I try to look past prejudice guided by bad experiences or ignorance. It's always the minority of every community that screams the loudest. It's exactly that degeneracy of the minority that blinded many people, to the point where many can't tell the difference between an anthro, a furry and sometimes talking ferals. And Sadly I think he falls in that category. If you are going to review something review the whole package. hopefully his obvious overwhelming negative bias doesn't blind him and degrade the worth of his word, it is a fighting game after all.

I don't usually take opinions as final especially when they haven't tried the characters yet cause most of what he did was comment on the designs and not liking a particular design is understandable

You're right about WuWa though setting a standard for the launch. Those two free 5* selectors are like equivalent to 80 pulls based on their pity, so that's 160 free pulls more.
Character designs are okay, maybe mid but some are alright. I like Nicole, Anby, Nekomata, Billy, Grace, Rin, Elle. The loli with the bat looks better than piper. Combat looks alright, but compare it to Wuwa, especially with Jinhsi, it pales in comparison. But in the end, I'll still try it ZZZ anyway when it comes out. You help realize just how L the 100 pulls are compared to Wuwa. For a billion-dollar gacha company, that's unacceptable compared to Genshin.
Wuwa really like, put the standard way up high, in terms of graphics, character designs, combat, and rewards. The devs listen too and are communicative as well. Music and story needs improvement, but I've yet to start playing version 1.1 so I'll have to see.
Also the producer is not Cai-Yu, but Zhenyu Li.

Nothing about ZZZ appeals to me, starting with character design. I am also thinking about deleting Genshin. Only HSR is a bit generous. (I don't play Honkai 3rd).

Agreed. The art style and general aesthetics of ZZZ don't appeal to me at all. Furthermore they actively make me less interested in the game by including Furry characters. It’s one thing to pull a character to dont like, and another to pull one you are repulsed by. WuWa doged a bullet by their Lingyang redesign lol.
Speaking of WuWa, every change thsy made in 1.0 is a W. The story was significantly better than what we got in 1.1 too. The game play is a banger, the exploration is actually fun, everything is a W. I wont even bother to check out ZZZ.
In 1.0 pure F2P I got all the 5* characters in WuWa except Lingyang. I bet that in ZZZ I would be blessed if I could get a single 5* character. And I have a feeling that 5* would be one of the g@y furry one character.

from what i see compared to the competitor (hi3, aether gazer, pgr) the concept looks fun. The world theme is funky and fresh, the combat clearly typical mihoyo, it's good enought but still a casual game. But the livestream itself didn't really explain anything to the people who didn't know about zzz. It's almost like a report for anyone who do the cbt.

He was in charge of HI3 which was really stingy before he moved to the Genshin team. After that the game became much more F2P friendly and generous Obviously we know what happened to Genshin

Well, those complaints are stupid because clearly Encore and Verina exist. So we already know that there will be more characters of that design. Also, the age thing is irrelevant. I don't know why they would complain about age, but ok.
I personally don't have a problem with loli or furry characters in ZZZ because at least there will be more potential and variety in making unique character designs.

yea I find Encore cute and all, mostly her dynamic with Aalto is what make the scene endearing, Verina is...ok...she doesnt bring much impression during the main story. If she werent a good support, I wouldnt even consider of getting Verina.
Maybe her char arc will have something more interesting. Lingyang is the closest to WuWa shota char, I find him nice personality wise (except the part when he did the dance in Act6, which I would prefer to be after the war rather than before the fight starts)
I dont have a prob with devs adding loli or furry but the reddit guys is like...begging or demanding devs to do so...which is weird.
These are the games I'm currently playing, WuWa, Genshin Impact, HSR, Snowbreak, and AFK Journey. ZZZ is not on my list because of that TV mode.
I think Hoshini Miyabi character looks great, I like order based characters more then criminal-types. Though I like Lucy design as well. And I doN't think she is a furry though? She have only fox ears, I though furry is when the character is, like, you know, furry not just have some small animal parts.
Still gonna play ZZZ but Im not gonna buy monthly or battle pass. Whaling in Hoyo game is not worth it for me. I was hit hard with reality in HSR the powercreeping is soo bad I literally uninstalled. The current MoC is catered for Break Team my hypercarry DHIL E0 team could even come close to beating it even with Ave Sparkle and Tingyun as support 😭

Depends on the gameplay. If it's fun, I don't mind doing the "log in for 3 minutes a day and wait for content" thing. Honestly I think WuWa reset my expectations for ZZZ, because now if it doesn't have any content then I can just fill that time with WuWa while I wait. The gacha system in ZZZ is undeniably terrible tho if they're gonna be stingy with pulls. At least in HSR you get tons of pulls every patch
All I want to really know if this is a cai productions. if it is, I can pass. if it's not, I might bench out HI3 for now.
As a side dish, ZZZ looks fine, I'll play it.
WuWa will be my main course, Honkai Star Rail will be the dessert, and both ZZZ and AFK Journey will be the appetizer
I'll play zzz to give it a chance, but its highly unlikely I'll stick around maybe if i had more storage id play but rn im busy with hsr and wuwa and both of them are extremely fun. I'll wait till release to see if i like it.

but man kuro likes to make it hard for themselves , ive been experiencing a lot of crashes , my rig on a 3060 12th gen 64 GB ram , laptop on 3050 12 gen 32gb , S23 and PocoF6 on mobile even in low settings . i need simplier names for the next WUWA characters :D
that cartoonish type of animation is not a cup of my tea, but might as well try it since some characters are very similar to PGR characters

Hoyo ain't gonna fool no one no more(unless someone just loves getting fooled by hoyo). Me personally any rewards less than WuWa's is not gonna cut it for me anymore, some may argue that compensations are not counted, but still more free stuff is still more free stuff regardless.
Also 100% sure there will be bugs and glitches in day 1 now we will see how Hoyo would respond to that, and I'm sure they'd respond with a typical hoyo response of " I already fixed it and said sorry and you want compensation? Are you crazy?"

I don't mind characters with animal traits as long as they look mostly human. But when a character looks like it walks around in a furry suit then I'm out.
I said that last time cai haoyu was the producer and it honestly lead me to that conclusion too with how stingy it looked so my apologies for the misinformation, it seems its li zhenyu. Now if that mf is as stingy if not worse than cai...i dont know what to say.

Im cool with loli characters as long as cuteness is the only thing going for them, but for me bigg booba and big asses will get pull priority for me. That being said i am underwhelmed with ZZZ. I play HSR, NIKKE, WUWA, and HI3 so this will be a pass for me unless proven otherwise.

Wow, I have honestly never looked at ZZZ characters before, but they are startingly... bland. Like from the starting roster there is not a single one that actually stands out to me that would make me want to play the game at all o.O
its crazy how much i dont care about this game, gameplay wise it looks kind of like hi3rd 2 but from what i've seen so far i actually prefer hi3rd, not even mentioning wuwa cuz that's not even close
Kuro games is still the underdog here. They need to get quality up from story, translation, cameras, and mobile optimizations. Something Hoyoverse already very good at.
Story its already the case with act 7 returns same with translations. The rest gonna come with time cause surprise ZZZ also gonna be bug at launch

Games story and world building is kinda meh for me , game can't hook me up for more than 6 month I guess
ZZZ this, wuwa that, genshin . . . Unless they rework daily login grind & stamina into weekly system (for 5\2 working plebs) all these games are just trash that manipulates you to get addicted. They all can improve and become great but that will never ever happen, unfortunately.
