Both my grandma and one of my closest friends are like this, cause they both had incidents where they were bitten by one, when we got dogs and either of them were over Grandma would just keep her distance or when near them not pet them, or the friend would keep a constant eye on them but not say a single word Now with my 2 last dogs that were Golden Retrievers, Syblings from the same litter and lived for 14 years I could then and currently even though they are no longer here, without a doubt tell you they would never bite someone unless I was threatened But the dog I currently have who is of the same breed and also bought from a private breeder, I can without a doubt tell you I don’t trust this fuhcker for a single second, out of all the dogs I’ve had, he is absolutely the most sporadic and I can’t guarantee that at all, so I would just advise you to keep your distance

He might still be afraid around dogs, but you've shown him that it's less about the dogs themselves and more about the people they have in their lives. You showed him that while some people might still be irresponsible pet owners, a responsible pet owner and skilled trainer can do wonderful and amazing things alongside their animals. I was bitten by a pitbull at a public park, it seemed to be untrained, not really sure but i got away in time and only got left with a couple scratches and one nasty bruise, yk along with the rabies shots simply because of the fact that i ran and didnt get any info on the dog. I havent seen it since though.
My brother was bitten my our neighbors golden retriever. He's also bitten several kids and people in our neighborhood. The owners refuse to put up a fence. We live outside of town so the police can't really do anything about it. My dad walked us to the bus stop with a low volt tazor just in case. We know it's the not dogs fault it's the owners. But s my dad said sometimes it's best to be safe than sorry. The dog didn't attack anyone for awhile so we hope the owners started doing something about it

The guy is obviously good at what he does, but I feel like it'd be better to just put the dog on a leash and let the person introduce themselves (not because the dog could be bad, but to ease others nerves)... I did it all the time with my American bully with my ex... we'd be chilling in the front yard, and if someone was nervous I'd call him over and put the leash on his collar and invite them over like "you wanna say hi? He's cool"... they would always be okay with me taking the leash off after a minute of good boy hanging out

Dogs like being trained as well. It send endorphins to their brain when completing a task correctly. They just seem to enjoy learning and they rely on us to teach them. The more you teach them, the more they trust you.

This doesn't mean they get to do what they want uncorrected, but it does mean they might need a certain moment to be a teaching moment even if their parents told them like ten times lol. Some kids need that hands on experience to teach them. Which is unfortunate but it could keep them alive in the long run or kill them instantly. Who knows.

He could have dismissed the kid's remark about the dog biting but instead kept it friendly, neutralized the kid's fear by keeping them enticed in the conversation and finally showing off what his training and dogs are like. I used to have with my ex this big scary looking black German shepherd and he was a handsome dog but looked intimidating. That said he wasn’t trained but still the biggest sweet heart and it was nice seeing kids who were scared at first love on him because he let them and helped them get over their fear. As a 29 year old man, he had done exactly the same thing when I met him
Caution is never a bad thing, but usually when people say that, it's because they don't know what they're doing and don't care to train their dog. But this guy is professional so I'd say the odds actually are pretty kow unless provoked

I wish there were more people like you. I was bitten pretty badly as a kid by a lose dog in someone yard like that. I was just walking by and it came for me. As an adult, I try to remember that not all dogs will do that, but when walking by unleashed dogs I still get that anxiety. Some people have gotten offended by my walking well around to avoid the dogs.

Yeah absolutely! TBH it's best practice to assume every dog you encounter is aggressive. If you approach a unfamiliar dog with an overly familiar/aggressive manner, its reaction is on you to a degree I hate seeing kids going up and petting dogs they don't know, this kid is doing it right!
Looks like southern CA. Chain link fence indicates a not-great neighborhood. Loose, aggressive dogs are common. That kid has probably learned to fear dogs for a reason. It’s a problem with the owners and the neighborhood. It puts other dogs and dog-walkers at risk too.

It was definitely a correct encounter i wish more people took this kind of responsibility for their dogs that this man has and this kid has been taught well never approach strange dogs with out permission from the owner.
@@Dookoun it's not quite as simple as that in most cases, My dog would act the same way on or off a leash, But it is law in most places I will give you that much. Some people have a little bit too much fear for canine however.
And this is completely by cue! He may have left the command or switch in body language out of the video so that no one else can use it irl, to command his puppers... Just in case. But obviously theyd trust him first regardless. But they DEFINITELY had a signal to command this behavior. Whether its for the video and just acting, or because the guy could just tell how nervous the kid was, immediately (its at least somewhat believable imo. He's a Behaviouralist... That just naturally extends to human psychology in SO many ways) the doggos were perfectly trained for this exact scenario. And it's very impressive ❤

Amazing! Dogs are truly man's best friend! I have had pitbulls, and my 75% pitbull 25% Chesapeake Bay retriever (a really big one. About 160lbs.) Looks at my 4 year old and will get between her and other people he doesn't know. He saved a baby rabbit, carrying him gently to its nest to ba safe with its family. He doesn't bother the rabbit family unless cats come looking to eat one. He also saved a dove with a messed up wing. He brought it to my mom and she mended it's wing. He flew off afterwards, thanks to my dog.

My son taught our Border Collie how to play basketball. She was more his dog than the family dog. Smart as a whip.

The guy is obviously good at what he does, but I feel like it'd be better to just put the dog on a leash and let the person introduce themselves (not because the dog could be bad, but to ease others nerves)... I did it all the time with my American bully with my ex... we'd be chilling in the front yard, and if someone was nervous I'd call him over and put the leash on his collar and invite them over like "you wanna say hi? He's cool"... they would always be okay with me taking the leash off after a minute of good boy hanging out

@@madunicorn7621it's not that they weren't taught survival skills, some kids just don't listen. And some kids just think other dogs are like their dog. They're kids. This doesn't mean they get to do what they want uncorrected, but it does mean they might need a certain moment to be a teaching moment even if their parents told them like ten times lol. Some kids need that hands on experience to teach them. Which is unfortunate but it could keep them alive in the long run or kill them instantly. Who knows.
Handled that total pro. He could have dismissed the kid's remark about the dog biting but instead kept it friendly, neutralized the kid's fear by keeping them enticed in the conversation and finally showing off what his training and dogs are like. Kid entered that conversation nervous and scared and left happy and impressed. Well done.

I used to have with my ex this big scary looking black German shepherd and he was a handsome dog but looked intimidating. That said he wasn’t trained but still the biggest sweet heart and it was nice seeing kids who were scared at first love on him because he let them and helped them get over their fear. As a 29 year old man, he had done exactly the same thing when I met him

I wish there were more people like you. I was bitten pretty badly as a kid by a lose dog in someone yard like that. I was just walking by and it came for me. As an adult, I try to remember that not all dogs will do that, but when walking by unleashed dogs I still get that anxiety. Some people have gotten offended by my walking well around to avoid the dogs.

Yeah absolutely! TBH it's best practice to assume every dog you encounter is aggressive. If you approach a unfamiliar dog with an overly familiar/aggressive manner, its reaction is on you to a degree

Looks like southern CA. Chain link fence indicates a not-great neighborhood. Loose, aggressive dogs are common. That kid has probably learned to fear dogs for a reason. It’s a problem with the owners and the neighborhood. It puts other dogs and dog-walkers at risk too.
Its okay to be careful around dogs, as they are animals after all, animal instincts can kick in any time specially the rabies infected dogs.

Both dogs are very well trained. They keep 100 % of their attention on the owner and his commands.
And this is completely by cue! He may have left the command or switch in body language out of the video so that no one else can use it irl, to command his puppers... Just in case. But obviously theyd trust him first regardless.
But they DEFINITELY had a signal to command this behavior. Whether its for the video and just acting, or because the guy could just tell how nervous the kid was, immediately (its at least somewhat believable imo. He's a Behaviouralist... That just naturally extends to human psychology in SO many ways) the doggos were perfectly trained for this exact scenario. And it's very impressive ❤

Amazing! Dogs are truly man's best friend! I have had pitbulls, and my 75% pitbull 25% Chesapeake Bay retriever (a really big one. About 160lbs.) Looks at my 4 year old and will get between her and other people he doesn't know. He saved a baby rabbit, carrying him gently to its nest to ba safe with its family. He doesn't bother the rabbit family unless cats come looking to eat one. He also saved a dove with a messed up wing. He brought it to my mom and she mended it's wing. He flew off afterwards, thanks to my dog.
