    I've always had a strong disgust for Ford, for several reasons. However, I do honestly give credit where credit is due, Ford has done a great job with this vehicle. They reintroduced this vehicle segment and produced a good vehicle at a great price. Now, if they could get rid of the direct injection and not have to start using the particulate filter...

    The Maverick is one of the few American cars that showed some imagination. Personally I'm always a wait and see with new models or new refresh models, I hope they sell a ton of them and they are reliable. I'd like to see a refresh of the EcoBoost 2.0 (and all of them really)to combine port and direct injection like they did with the larger motors.

    Extremely nice drivetrain by Ford with the planetary gear set used for the transmission a much better system than a belt driven CVT. They could make a single cab version of the Maverick Hybrid at some stage with the ability to have an AWD driveline optioned.
    Whoever is running the styling department at Ford at the moment is certainly doing a good job with the current crop of Ford vehicle's very handsome indeed.

    0 to 60 and horsepower/torque numbers for awd hybrid please

    • @TDTVGarage

      As shown in the video torque is a Ford stated 155 pound-feet which is identical to that of the FWD model. 0-60 numbers won't be available until the truck physically exists which it does not as of this video. You can look to all of the reviews and information on the FWD model for 0-60 and perhaps a half second to account for extra weight and drag.

I was told by service it was started by a 12 V. regular starter. Anyone know for sure?? I find too many dealers and even service "specialists" don't know enough about hybrids and how they work!!!

    • @ericbryant796
      @ericbryant796 Месяц назад +5

      The Mav doesn't have a starter, its directly connected to the E-cvt so the internal electric motor starts the engine...and does so very quickly as it can spin it much faster than a typical starter. It is pretty much seamless compared to a conventional start-stop system.
      Also there is no alternator, no drive belt, tensioner or idler pullies on the engine to replace.

    how does a 155 torque rating tow 4000 pounds?

    • @TDTVGarage
      @TDTVGarage  3 месяца назад +10

      Tow ratings aren't at all about horsepower or torque. Ratings are about brakes, cooling, suspension and the ability of the drivetrain to endure the work without self destructing. Trucks in the 1970s and 1980s had much higher tow ratings with similar or less power.
