    14:24 Teclis, brother to Tyrion, is a high elf wizard of Aenarions bloodline, aenarion was the first phoenix king during the first coming of chaos and was one of the reasons for why the elves managed to survive. However in desperation aenarion took the sword of Khaine from its shrine when he heard his wife and children had been killed (all gods including the chaos gods were screamin at him that picking up the sword was a bad idea but the did it anyways). Due to this aenarions bloodline was cursed with the curse of Khaine, his descendants are powerful and mighty but there is always something negative too, in Tyrions case this was berserker rages and in teclis case it was an incredibly frail and sickly body, although his magic was immensely powerful. Teclis was convinced that to let the high elves survive they should work together with other species, he aided magnus the pious during the great war against chaos with the twelfth everchosen avazar Khul and was responsible for the founding of the colleges of magic in altdorf.

    "That moment" about Snorri is in the Dragonslayer book. I was listening to the audiobook at work and just kind of stopped, stood in place, and paused that audiobook. Pancrease is not kidding when he says Snorri's backstory is incredibly depressing. As for Malakai, the armored Hiddenburg he builds isn't a background thing and is actually a major plot point in several of the books.
    I recommend reading them, even if you don't have any knowledge of Warhammer. They are very good introductory stories into the setting because Gotrek and Felix are in no way major players by both accident and choice. As such, while their actions make them heroes, Gotrek's death oath means he has no desire for laurels or praise, so he keeps on moving.

It is incredibly powerful and can be used to protect against supernatural beings or deal incredible destructive damage to foes. Light wizards are massively anti-chaos.
    Every species has different ways of using the eight winds, however in the empire where once traditions of hedge wizards existed, now the only legal way to practice magic is if you are a student of the colleges of magic, founded by teclis, he taught these wizards that humans could only handle 1 wind at a time and divided them in eight colleges, each dedicated to the study and use of one of the eight winds. each college has its own culture, traits and so on.

    As a general rule, characters in 40K are more powerful than those in Fantasy. Its an issue with power scaling, it's mentioned in Pancreas's other video about Fantasy vs 40K, but basically the same threats in 40K capable of destroying a planet can struggle to take over a single city in Fantasy. Orks in Fantasy are held at bay with sharp sticks and single shot gunpowder weapons, while Orks in 40K can shrug off lasers and survive a shot from a RPG machine gun.
    So characters like Gotrek, Nagash, and Lord Kroak who are all individually strong enough to defeat a Primarch, are pretty damn frightening. If they ever get transported to 40K and boosted in scale to compete in that power level, they would be god-like. Gotrek could likely solo a Black Crusade or a Tyranid Hive Fleet. Nagash would rival a Chaos God. And Lord Kroak would be the single most powerful being in the setting, likely surpassing the Emperor.

      Unfortunately, even if someone in GW had this bright idea and act on it, big chaos and cash loving bosses would order to retkon it into Archaon victory. I mean, in initial End Times, before last climatic battle, Grimgor Ironhide a.k.a Da Best fought with Archaon, kick his ass and walk away looking for someone else to fight. Big bosses decided that it is unbecoming of their favorite child to lose like that, so lore was rewritten into Archaon victory even with loss of one of his artifacts. So I fear even Gotrek would end up with same treatment.

    The thirsting of Zabbia for Felix in “Serpent Queen” is absolutely hilarious, especially given her “situation”. And on the topic of horny Tomb Queens, and this might just be me, but regardless, I swear that Khalida had similar thoughts as her, but unlike her herald, Khalida had an actual filter whenever she spoke or thought.
    Also he forgot to add two other characters to the main secondary characters…
    The first is Kat aka Katerina aka Felix’s future wife who wanted to go adventuring with Felix and Gotrek but Felix said no for obvious reasons. She actually saved Felix when they first met from a Khorne follower.
    The other being Otto Jaeger, the brother of Felix who got letters from Felix to “hold on to” until Felix returned to publish as a book, but in stead published them as a incredibly successful books series called “My Travels with Gotrek” mostly due to the sheer unbelievability of what they went through that (I think) it was believed that Felix was just making stuff up and no one thought it was actually true in the slightest.
    Additionally there is Melenath Deathblade a Drhukii who wanted Gotreks rune axe. She is basically female Malus Darkblade who became a permanent companion to Gotrek in AOS and was actually kinda fun to read in books.

    The Stormcast Eternals are actually all of the _dead_ heroes from Warhammer Fantasy. Basically, Sigmar made a deal with Nagash where Sigmar could cherry-pick the souls of a few heroes to serve as his champions in the fight against Chaos. Nagash, being allied to Sigmar at the time and seeing no immediate downside to this arrangement, reluctantly agreed to do his good deed for the millennium and help Sigmar. However, Nagash is a goddamn weasel and figured out that even if he can't take the Stormcasts back from Sigmar directly, he's still the God of Death and thus he's able to claim enough of a Stormcast's soul each time one dies that eventually they will lose themselves completely and return to his service.
    As for Gotrek's quest to find Felix? He has yet to do so, but Felix's ultimate fate during the End Times is a mystery and it's entirely possible that Felix is still alive somewhere.

      That's not at all what happened or what Stormcasts are. Some Stormcasts are people that died in The World That Was (aka. the WHF world) but that's a minority. The majority of all Stormcasts are people that where born and died in the Mortal Realms. He also didn't ask Nagash for those souls and even if he did he wouldn't have gotten them since Nagash is extremely petty when it comes to souls. The dude considers HEALING to be a crime worthy of eternal suffering and pain just because it keeps people alive and thus their souls away from him. The idea of him giving anyone souls is absurdly OOC. We also know that the Reforging is naturally damaging the souls of those who have to go through it. That said, Nagash is one of the things that can actually stop a Stormcast from going back to Azyr if he's around them.

    • @Brutalyte616
      @Brutalyte616 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@pile-o-nonsense3688 Well that's the thing. Nagash is the God of Death now, so Sigmar had to go through Nagash in order to create the Stormcast, and in the early days of the Mortal Realms the souls of the dead from Warhammer Fantasy were basically all Sigmar had to work with because his living followers in the Mortal Realms either weren't dying because they were too badass or they weren't notable enough to become Stormcast in the first place. Nagash WAS allied with Sigmar in those early days, and he was obviously aware of what Sigmar was doing and didn't fight him over it at the time because Chaos was coming back and Sigmar needed an army, and Nagash simply allowing something like that to happen given how anal he is about declaring all of the souls of the dead as his property is as good as him openly accepting the proposal.

    • @pile-o-nonsense3688
      @pile-o-nonsense3688 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@Brutalyte616 Again, he didn't. The Mortal Realms both have a higher population and are more dangerous then the WHF world ever was so Sigmar was never, ever short on people to turn into Stormcasts.
      Nagash was also never involved with the creation of the Stormcasts as Grungni and Sigmar on their own came up with that idea and made it work. While he is a god of Shyish, that doesn't mean that anything that has something to do with souls has to involve him f.e. Grungni flat out locked Nagash out of the Duardin afterlife even after the later beat Gazul, he never got his hands on the souls of most orruks either because Gorkamorka cheats by being the greenskin afterlife itself thanks to being an Elemental Deity and thus a living idea which hijacks Shyish's natural ability to create afterlifes based on people's faith and the new aelf pantheon never even bothered to ask him for help when it came to taking souls out of Slaanesh.

    You might be wondering why an engineering genius is in the Slayers. That's because one of the highest sins to the Dwarves for Fantasy is violating tradition. And to invent in a most heinous violation. To create an entirely new class of war machine, even one with obvious potential like an armored airship, and see it accepted in less than a century was only possible with him entering the Slayers. In a way, Dwarf craftsmen are akin to the Mechanicus. This is how things are done, because this is how they have been done, and this is how things will continue to be done. An inventor is inherently a dangerous radical and an outcast at best. A living stain on family honor past and future at worst.... unless they become a Slayer.

That detail about them becoming emotionless is because they literally lose pieces of their souls every single time they die after becoming Stormcasts, and this happens due to a mix of the Stormforging process having issues and Nagash being such a petty asshole that he just yoinks pieces of their souls.

      Well, there's a bit more to that:
      The probelm with reforging is that it damages the soul which is then repaired by the people in charge of the process or at least as good as they can. This leaves less of the original soul and it keeps on getting worse. This can lead to a ton of different things and both the loss of memories and emotions can happen. On the other hand, a Stormcast could also be reforged and suddenly remember things they forgot or feel emotions stronger then they eve did before. They could turn into a mindless lightning automaton but they could just as likely turn into a complete loon who's covered in trinkets taken from dead people because they think that these people will otherwise be forgotten by anybody else.
      How a Stormcast is influenced by the reforging is also heavily depending on who they where in their mortal life: If they where often angry and have a strong connection to their anger it will often lead to that emotion becomes kind of "resistand" to the reforging. This can lead to them being eventually nothing but angry all the time because it's the only emotion that is eventually left as the rest got lost.
      Generally though, the best way to describe it is like sharpening a pencil: The more you do it, the less you have but the tip becomes more pointy too until it breaks off.

    If you're wondering what the powerscaling is between fantasy and 40k, most blades that have any magical property whatsoever can break a chainsword in half and most named characters could whoop their 40k counterparts. For example archaon could beat the living shit out of Abbadon if he so wished and i wouldn't be surprised if Gotrek could solo demon primarch Angron in under 3 minutes
