The funny House of death battle has some interesting lore about him like his bad is Sarge from red vs blue canonically.

Bowser vs Eggman is really great, but there are also some other great DeathBattles, like Iron Man vs Lex Luthor, Balrog vs T.J. Combo, Vergil vs Sephiroth, Deadpool vs Deathstroke, Thanos vs Darkseid, & Galactus vs Unicron. They don't always look like this, some are done with 2D sprites and the like, but even some of those fights are really good. Also, the way these fights work is that they act as though both combatants have zero qualms about killing their opponent, even when the character in question wouldn't be willing to just kill someone if they had a choice (a good example of this being Green Lantern vs Ben 10). And particularly later in DeathBattle's lifespan, they started using completely custom music for their fights.

For one their more easy to comprehend fights, TJ Combo vs. Balrog is a solid option.

Just so you know, this is one of the by far better death battles in the series, and its been a series that has been around since December 2010, so literally 14 years of content. So if you do watch more of them, you can tell the quality difference between the early episodes and the more recent ones.

The real bummer is that they didn't give Eggman the other phantom rubies or his strongest robots, and they didn't scale his best bots appropriately at all, as well as giving Bowser non-canon powers (Such as Mario Party abilities)

I've mentioned it in other reactions, but the characterization of bowser is lovely Holds his minions with magic to protect them from infinite Gets the classic "Dad boosr" when jr gets hurt Steps in front of his army to tank a giant Lazer

Warning, this is possibly their best episode so temper expectations if you plan to see others.

Best part about the song (titled Game Over): the vocals were done by Victor Borba, the guy who did the vocals for DMC5's Bury The Light

All death battles do have great animations but this one is for sure the best (scooby vs courage is equal)

Death Battle has recently gone indie since Rooster Teeth went out of business, and this wouldn’t have been possible but the animator really wanted to do this. This was ambitious, especially for the situation they were in.

This is one of the worst episodes of death battle to strait with as nothing else even compares except maybe bill cipher vs discord. If you are looking for a better one to start with I’d say go for whichever episode has the characters and matchup your most invested in, or hulk vs doomsday as that one is pretty good in all aspects

Definitely recommend to check out more of them. Omniman vs home lander, goku vs Superman (the 3rd one), among us vs fall guys, Kirby vs majin buu, Scooby doo vs Courage, the mask vs Deadpool, pinky pie ve Deadpool, Galactus vs Unicron, Saitama vs Popeye are more recent ones that come to mind that are fantastic.

Not all death battle are of this quality. BUT! You get a sense on how far they have come. Recommend death battles to look up: Darkseid vs Thanos Galactus vs Unicron Goku vs Superman (All three) Popeye vs Saitama Goku black vs Reverse Flash Ganondorf vs Dracula Alucard vs Dio Brando Deadpool vs Deathstroke Lobo vs Ghost Rider Discord vs Bill Cipher Too many to add but those are my recommendations.

They have done a death battle between guilty gear & blazblue in the past, though not as epuc as this. Its sol badguy vs ragna the bloodedge

Beyond the Chaos Emeralds and Solaris, there’s a lot of funny stuff with Sonic. They’re not entirely wrong about planet earth having a will because of a furry little fairy named Chip, also known as the god Light Gaia the creator, and his counterpart Dark Gaia the destroyer (side note his dark energy briefly turned Sonic into a were-creature, a werehog). The Sonic Storybook games feature Sonic transported into the Arabian Nights and into Camelot because of magical occurrences. The Sonic Chronicles JRPG has to do with space-faring dimension-hopping aliens. Speaking of aliens, Shadow the Hedgehog is actually part alien, being a test-tube baby created by Gerald Robotnik to try and make a cure for Maria Robotnik’s illness using the DNA of a nigh-immortal satanic alien named Balck Doom. And of course there’s always more to talk about, what with three different comic book series (Fleetway, Archie, and IDW Publishing) with different lore (and legal issues) but boy is my keyboard tired

One of the best Death Battles so far! If you want to dive into Sonic's overall lore, then my main recommendations would be Ace Card Gaming, TheMentok and GamesCage (Voiced by Mandy, HSquid Reviews and Sonic Theory are also great picks). Other great picks for reactions would be the the adaptations of the IDW comics by Adrenaline Dubs, Project Shadow fanfilm by JoaoFilipeSantiago(And its recent minisequel Sonic Vs Shadow), Nazo Unleashed by Chakra X, the full Sonic Shorts series by SonicParadox, and all of the works from BalenaProductions. The official Sonic channel also has a lore series called Tailstube and multiple high quality tie-in animations to the games released in the past few years! And the movies and games like Sonic Generations, Unleashed and Frontiers are excellent entry points for newcomers like you!

The Sonic lore is absolutely insane. I'd recommend looking into the games specifically first, the comics are.... they're a whole different universe, very literally, and they don't always line up properly. Also, the Sonic games are kindof like the Mario games in that there's absolutely connections, there are games that are DEFINITELY sequels, *but* there's also completely standalone games and attempted reboots along the way. Such as Sonic Adventure which is sortof the baseline for current Sonic media, which is functionally a parallel setting to the original games. Sortof. Kindof. Sonic Generations made it weird, but in a fun way.

Death Battle animations vary in style depending on who they bring in to animate it, and they also started getting custom music made for them as well.

Funny how you mention gurren lagann cause the creators of death battle actually had a kickstarter stream where fans help fund the show for more episodes and with each goal they met more and more future episodes were revealed and one of them was the main character of gurren. Simon vs Kyle rayner, one of dc's green lanterns but with quite a few things that make him different from others like with his white lantern form.

How do the hedgehogs fit into their universe? I mean, it's not too complicated. The animal characters are just their own species, seperate from humans, but living alongside them.

I loved this but they did Infinite dirty but I'm glad they made Metal Sonic look as cool as he is in canon. The Shadow Dark Beginnings animations are also fucking amazing if you're interested in checking them out. Also fun fact Sonic gave Robotnik the nickname Eggman to make fun of him but Eggman just decided to claim the insult for himself.

I really love this episode of death battle, but in my opinion Eggman should have won, like yeah Bowser survived a Black Hole but it was because of the Lumas and Eggman’s ship only meant for transportation casually survives the artificial black hole with minimal damage, actually they didn’t even use the majority of the robots of Eggman, like who cares of the Eggdragoon I want the Egg Gabler and the rest of robots. Other thing, Eggman casually have a machine capable of rewinding time a few minutes…why he didn’t use that when Neo died? They didn’t even used the most powerful Eggdragoon or the most powerful Death Egg Robot, they actually used their weakest versions for the battle. 8/10 death battle just because the animation is peak

I always love seeing new people watch Death Battle. Bowser vs Eggman is a perfect episode to serve as a gateway! If you want another very good episode, I recommend Goku vs Superman 2023, Solid Snake vs Sam Fisher, or Scooby Doo vs Courage the Cowardly Dog!

You know it's funny how Eggman's army doesn't have "free will" yet somehow they frequently betray him. Also if you plan on doing more deathbattles, just remember their for fun and it's ok to agree/disagree with the results. Some people take these too seriously.

Yeah no, sonic lore goes crazy and insane stupid. One example, is that the eggman used in this battle was not the "Old" Eggman from the Archie comics, which debatable, would have a Easy dub over bowser, the powercreep in the sonic franchise is WILD

I highly recommend watching Goku Black vs Reverse Flash and DIO vs Alucard. Those are easily some of my favorite episodes. I also would say that Balrog vs TJ Combo is an excellent one.

If you are curious about Eggman's "branding" about Eggs, the origin of that is literally because Sonic once insulted his physical appearance by calling him Eggman (plus the robots he made that modeled after himself), so he decided to stick with it. Basically, he decided that he would turn that petty insult into a name to be feared and make Sonic regret ever talking shit to him.

Fun fact about Dr Eggman's name. His full name is a combination of the English and Japanese names. In Japan, his real name was listed as N/A with Eggman being an alias. In English, there was no mention of the Eggman alias and his name was listed as Ivo Robotnik. So when Sonic games became real popular and started transitioning towards 3d around the time of the Adventure games, his two names were united as Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik with the explanation being that Eggman was originally an insult Sonic threw at him that he decided to just own because if he can make the name Eggman be feared, then he can make anything he does demand respect.
