Nice video! D1Y1 vet here, my only real MMO experience prior was over a decade of MapleStory on and off which was a very social game back in my day. I remember hanging out with friends in towns not doing anything. We'd haggle in the free market, we'd chat with passerbys, go afk while we voice chat, play minigames, etc. I miss that social part of games. We'd just hang out and talk until we decide to go party quest. I'm a firm believer in being the change you want to see in your communities so I use chat in Destiny 2 heavy, even though no one responds. The rare glhf response once in a blue moon. The first last and only time I've seen chat filled with guardians was when The Almighty crashed near the tower. Lots of great ideas here but i have to highlight your ideas for clan housing and the crafting rework can all be bundled into a massive Patrol space update. I feel patrols have so much potential for iteration and expansion to make them feel living and breathing.
@@wander-2 turning the patrol spaces into something more than just the bottom of the barrel open world combat space would be a great way to introduce a bunch of things
I feel overall it’d be difficult to make that kind of swap for the destiny IP. Being predicated on the looter shooter genre with some slight MMO characteristics, it’d be a hard swap. Not necessarily against it, but I just don’t think I’d do that in the current D2 state. Now if we went to d3 and this was the decision it’d be different, I’d be open to it for this. Just difficult to make a change like this while the game is still presumably ongoing. Either way I’d probably still play when I’m around.
@greenlukesky4615 yeah a full pivot is super difficult. It'd have to be gradual through a couple of different small mechanics over time. A D3 would be ideal as a way to shift things over faster, but that also takes a very long amount of time. The new tonic system seems like a step in the direction I'd like to see though
@@bloodelf941 Yeah I’m not very experienced with MMO’s at all, destiny is by far the closest I’ve been to one, and it’s one of if not the only looter shooter I’ve ever played. Not opposed, we will see.
honestly coming from someone who has never been into traditional mmo's, destiny 1 was my first "mmo" if you can call it that, and i enjoyed it because it wasnt super confusing to get into like most mmo's. it was more of a looter shoot than an mmo and thats what i liked about it. but at this point, im willing to give it a try, i want to see bungie do something CRAZY
@novamorph What's crazy is that Destiny has the exact same problem with new players bouncing off the game that full MMOs have already, with almost none of the complexity that would come with that. The big downside is already in place, might as well go fucko mode and make some crazy shit happen you know?
It kinda has now with a tank kinda role. Lately ive been playing a healer roll (lock with speakers sight on real solar with benevolence and healing rift and tommys matchbook) and ot has quickly become my favorite build for hard content.
@jacobbruch7854 Eh, kinda? Everybody's still a dps just with small slants, leaning certain ways. You can have extra sustain for your teammates or something, but you're still a damage dealer. And tanking isn't something that people really do as a role? Except maybe like the Golgoroth fight. But that's more of a taunt than an eating of damage if that makes sense?

yes they should! Look at ESO and Wow tons of stuff to play around with!
Duuuuude.. I’m long time ESO but playing D2.
Been watching and thinking “I know this loot system”
But yeah, it’s a good thing
