I absolutely love hearing Brandon on an acoustic guitar. This is Brandon’s element and he brings the sole of these beauties out. They will walk and talk when Brandon gives them love and and brings out their Mojo. This is a Great GOTD with Jen and Brandon.
Gallagher guitars are fantastic. I have two--a G-70 and a GA-72--and they both sing! The resonance, sustain, and overtones are jaw dropping. Actually a little surprised Joe is letting his go. Of course, always love when Brandon steps in while ML is elsewhere, and today's GotD was excellent as usual. Thanks to you all, and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Saw and played a Gallagher many years ago at Stan Jay’s shop in Staten Island. I am a Martin guy but the Gallagher blew me away. Someone needs to own this piece of history. A remarkable guitar.
JW's son Don ran the business and made guitars until he gave over the role to his son, Stephen. The Gallaghers made guitars in Wartrace, Tn. (a town of about 600) from the late 1960's until production was moved to nearby Murfreesboro in recent years. They are still being made in Murfreesboro. These Doc Watson models show their best qualities when played with a driven flatpick. They have phenomenal resonance, projection, balance, and articulation. They are very hard to overpower. They are also uncommonly beautiful instruments.
JW Gallagher had a son named Don, not Merle. Doc Watson's son was named Merle. I own a 1976 Gallagher G70 and Don did some repair work on it for me at the Gallagher shop in Wartrace. I still have it to this day and it sounds better than ever.
I had the pleasure and good luck to hear Doc Watson in concert a few times. Good playing Brandon. I enjoyed it and learned a thing or two. Merry Christmas everyone!
Doc Watson started out on a Les Paul but when he was signed to a record deal it was the height of the Folk Movement and they made him switch to acoustic.
JW’s son who worked with him is Don , Merle was Doc’s son who died in a farming accident. I spent a bit of time with the Gallagher family I’m related to them . Just a cute story - A famous guitar player ( who shall remain anonymous) liked JW’s work and wanted one , but he wanted JW to give it to him , absolutely not JW said I get paid for my work . He wouldn’t even give me a discount. He and Don were proud of their work .
Thanks for all u do The Norm family have great vac. Interesting guitar never heard of it extremely Cool. I’m always amazes the sound from Jens phone really amazing 🤩
I own the Gallagher Doc Watson signature custom, very lucky! Even more lucky having billy strings play the shit out of it. Lovely guitar you got there and funny story about slash 😂 The son name is Don,FYI.
Beautiful playing I found out about this guitar maker on my first visit to see my dad who lives in McMinville TN and on the way there you go passed Murfreesboro TN and where Gallagher guitars are made and some day I will own one I feel it only fits due to my surname “Gallagher”
The Doc Watson guitar played by the Professor Brandon Soriano. It is a pity we did not get any Christmas vocals from you Jen, it would of been nice to hear.
Great GOTD.. A beautiful guitar; it sounds fantastic . Nice job Brandon really. Happy Holidays to you,Jen and all at Norm's. Where is your lab coat? Getting one for Christmas maybe ?
David Mathis is now owner of the company, he’s a great guy! You may go in as a client, but you’ll leave as a friend. I have a G70 and it’s an amazing work horse!
OMG FLFB is awesome on this guitar. You should have carried the Christmas Theme farther...Silent Night. (FLFB-Freakishly Long Fingered Brian) Awesome video, loved it!
I’m so glad the Gallagher family sold the company to him. He has such a passion for what he is doing. The company couldn’t be in better hands in my opinion. Have had the chance to see/play the new Tele style electric guitar they are making?
@@charlesbolton8471 I have yes. Played it though their little amp there they call “Smokey” those galla-casters are cool. I like how they kept the original headstock design

Gallaghers are one of the most underrated guitars ... I've found them to be fantastic players and one of my favorite flat picking brands...
Thanks Brandon for playing this incredible guitar. You are very talented

Brandon has some beautiful, interesting compositions.
Incredible playing 👏🏻 You were the right one for that job
Excellent playing.Wishing you all and Norm a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.Blessings to you all.
Doc's son was merlin.
J.W's son is Donald (don) who is a friend of mine and continued the biz for many years after J.W.
They are working on my Gallagher in Murfreesboro right now. Wonderful people.
Thanks for all u do The Norm family have great vac. Interesting guitar never heard of it extremely Cool. I’m always amazes the sound from Jens phone really amazing 🤩
Gallagher's been making great dreads since the late 60's. Bluegrass guys love them.
Great playing a great sounding guitar
The resonance of that guitar is absolutely is amazing, In another ten years it will be even better music 🎶
whats the first song he plays? sounds beautiful.
I heard this guitar in concert when Joe was on that tour. It was at the Sandler Center here in Virginia Beach. Monster tone from that guitar.
👍👍Great technique.
Very nice sound (and playing !) very articulated.
Brandon is a very impressive guy, very well read. Does his homework and makes a great presentation. Well done Brandon!
I own the Gallagher Doc Watson signature custom, very lucky! Even more lucky having billy strings play the shit out of it. Lovely guitar you got there and funny story about slash 😂

Hardly surprising Brandon is a gifted guitarist; his fingers are absolutely huge.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all of Santa's elves at NRG. Thanks for a great 2022.
A little Shady Grove please

(FLFB-Freakishly Long Fingered Brian)
Awesome video, loved it!
Should've put some 80/20s on it. It's bright enough without phosphor bronze, I think.
What is "viby"?
👌
I believe Merle was Doc Watson's son.
Man you should record an album with that guitar before it goes. You where made for each other, especially with the finger picking.
Did Billy Strings buy this?? If not he should.
I love you jen.
If I could hit the Like button more than once I would hit it like the Space Invader’s fire button. Happy Holidays to all!
Back in the late 70s I owned a japanese made Angelica copy of a Gallagher. The headstock had a gothic A instead of G. I played the s**t out of it.
The pearl dots suggest a bolt on bridge. That's just a bad idea. A very nice guitar otherwise.
That ain't no part of nuthin.
never sellin my '79 DW its given everything i would want
poor lemmo went home to 5 degrees. happy holidays all
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Yet again, more proof why Brandon should do every video. His playing is simply better.
Strings?
Nah, Brandon does fine without orchestral accompaniment.
I've played that guitar a few times
Had 11s on it at the time
I know David, the guy who runs the company now, and that's not the correct story..
I’m so glad the Gallagher family sold the company to him. He has such a passion for what he is doing. The company couldn’t be in better hands in my opinion.

Opps. Muckin rummy.
Brandon has a seriously big one I can tell
