Taylor customer service told me's a Cal-Mex guitar. The entire neck, including tuner install, logo in headstock, fretwork etc is 100% completed in their factory in Mexico. The body is 100% built in the United States in El Cajon, CA where final assembly is also done... I love how Taylor blurs these lines. When I was told this, Taylor pointed out various parts including fretboards are milled in the Mexico plant for all the USA built line anyway, but the difference is the neck on the Studio is actually finished in Mexico....
I don’t see what the gig bag fuss is other than a case has better humidity control. The structured gig bag with the GS Mini is very stiff sided & protects a guitar well. I like the torrefied top with all gloss finish. I think it’s a win at that price. Looks like the price difference between the structured gig bag at GA size & the Aero case is $70 on Taylor’s website. A shame they wouldn’t let you pick the case & pay the difference. Then, stepping up to the hard case is only $170 additional.
I have the 'Taylor 214ce Plus'. It's a beautiful guitar; however, The Nut is too narrow for me; I'm not even sure what it is. I too prefer a 1 3/4 Nut. Anyone wanna buy my 214ce Plus? Perfect condition! Action is adjusted to Perfection!
I would love to see an 814ce Studio 😀 but, i'm pretty sure that's called a 714ce 🤣 Great demo guys, good vibes for the 314ce Studio... 1 3/4 nut for me though, only down side, imo
Cool guitar but I don't know what to think...the gigbag is okay for me. A guitar without binding for this price, I don't know but I like the gloss finish. Bigest point for me is the narrow nut, I would prefer the 1 3/4.
I'd like to see a sound comparison of this new 314ce Studio to the 214ce-PLUS, which I have and love. I'd love to get an 814ce, but got to save up the pennies..
Guitar sounds fantastic. But honestly all the V-Class 14 series models sound about the same to my ears... Taylor rep told me that the neck is built in Mexico, body, finish and final assembly in the United States. That's why the neck is 1 11/16" The American Dream series going away...
So $1,999 is enough of a difference to have the click bait headline that it’s under $2,000?… Although technically true, it’s just a commonly used marketing gimmick to not say what the price really is to avoid a perceived “sticker shock”. I have 6 Taylor guitars myself, including 2 builders additions, so I’m not a “Taylor hater”. Just FYI 😊
Taylor 314CE studio 2000 USD. Cort A6 mahogany 750USD, Cort A6 bocote (same family as ziricotes) 950USD, Cort A8 Pau Ferro (morado) 1050 USD. China is making life difficult for traditional factories. China is making better and better guitars.

Fender has be doing similar for many years
That sounds awesome! Nice demo!

I like the guitar and it’s sound and I really like not a fan of a smaller nut. I would like it with 1 3/4 nut
I was very interested in this model, so thanks for reviewing it. I will be in the market come this fall and will come see you.
Pretty significant haircut for Coop! 😂👍🏼

Thanks Chris MkCooperberg. I'll have one of these next black Friday 😄
Nice sound, i need to try it !
From a branding perspective and keeping series within a price range, I would have thought they might make this an AD14ce?
They discontinued the AD range.

For me it looks much better than regular 314, I prefer classical look and it`s less money! 👍but damn narrow nut...?😒
Here in the UK the studio is more expensive than the normal 314 so i have no idea what that is all about
I like the torrified top but the 1 11/16” nut width is a non starter for me. 1 3/4” is a minimum width for me.
I like everything but the nut width.

It's misleading to call it an American Taylor if the neck is completely made in Mexico. And at $2000 it should at least come with an Aero case.
AeroCase is $199. Hard case is $299
Translation: Taylor is losing sales and the economy stinks right now.
FGX5 vs this? 😏
