I doubt there is anything up the ladder, but there was a ladder in the mines you missed 36:21 Thanks for the video!
I watched this video before going down to fight the boss to see if I could learn a few tricks and I learned indeed. You taught me that you can just drop a torch on the ground as a light source. I thought you had to either fight in the dark or carry a light in your offhand thus negating the shield since you can't plant the lights on the ground due to the ground being claimed. Hats off to you!
Haha, thanks! Yeah, the lack of ability to place items, and no torch holders in a lot of the areas down here, made light a bit of a challenge to overcome. Glad you learned a tip from the video! :)
So cool to watch Someone piece this puzzle together blind. I took that repeating fractal room in the bell workshop to be some kind of temporal glitch, no idea if it’s supposed to be that way or not but there’s a similar spot in the nobles quarters, where the pipes sticking out become more and more twisted.
Yeah, a lot of folks are saying it was designed that way intentionally. I think it needs more in-game context to make that connection, because it didn't jump out at me. It was definitely glitchy, but given how glitchy games can be, I had no idea it was SUPPOSED to be that way... XD
I absolutely adore the library. I want to be able to craft (or at least steal) all of the fancy bookshelves and scroll racks and banners and lecterns and pillars and everything else. :D I like all the collectible useless things as well. There's a couple of particularly odd little collectibles in a couple of hidden rooms around the structure (or not so much hidden as very hard to find and awkward to get to). You can put candles on the candelabras above the library resonator, which looks pretty cool. (I'm also always paranoid that the diffuser will run out of fuel and the lights will go out - I don;t think badnasties spawn in the library, but I don't like being in the dark down there!)
Did I detect a teensy weensy bit of greed when you found the Anthracite? I haven't been able to find decent deposits for three different games now and am quite jealous. Once again I puckered up on a few of your jumps too, good stuff. I am only half way through the video and the suspense is killing me.
Haha yeah some of those jumps are a little suspect.... But I got a bit more confident later on! Anthracite is nice, but it's hardly necessary. One of the problems with it is that if you use it anywhere except the fire pit, it doesn't benefit from its extended burn time. Well, pit kilns benefit, but it's kind of a waste of anthracite.
Amazing run, the Library was stunning and beautiful, but the lack of carrying space is infuriating lol. . I want it all ! 25:53 Oh, that worldgen error happened to me as well, in the exact same spot/room! ...it is a bug, right? The room's outer layer is basically perfectly duplicated downwards a couple of times...
According to a bunch of other commenters, this is not a bug at all and is part of the lore--how time and space got warped and "weird things" started happening.
@@Kurazarrh I've actually re-entered the archives just today and I noticed a very similar, although obviously more intentional thing happening in the noble quarters, but this time a single room is copied multiple times and with each iteration there's more of these rust-like uninteractable and unnamed appendages coming out of the walls... so I guess that might be true!
In the end it is kind of fitting to leave the books behind (for now.) You can gain knowledge, but you can't take the knowledge. In a library knowledge is meant to be shared. Or you know the library has just cursed you with a perpetual full inventory so you are forced to leave the books behind. Lol

I wrote a long comment and still didn't say everything I wanted... So, how about a summer cottage somewhere in the south? To equip there an orchard with all sorts of plums and peaches, to build a winery, a cellar for blue cheese, a moonshine still. I think it would be more interesting to live in the southern latitudes, at least just for a change. Of course, these are plans for a long time, but still how do you like this idea?
In the first season of the Guide series, I did move south eventually, where we built a big castle in the Silver Mountains. It was pretty fun, but I got a little burned out because it was VERY heavy on building and not so much discovering and discussing new features. I think if I do another permanent home in the south, it might be in a new series or Guide season!
Shields make a HUGE difference in combat, since they shave off a ton of damage before it gets to your armor calculation. Someone else also said they thought the eidolon was also supposed to spawn in locust friends, which didn't happen to me.
I've never seen the Archive's Archive. Wonderful place!! They really outdid themselves!! Reminds me of the other "Library" in that other block game and, unless you need bookcases, how disappointing it is in comparison. #20Kuestions What did you enjoy the most in the Resonance Archive? What decor/chisel ideas did you get from the Resonance Archive?
Difficult traversal makes sense to a degree, but since Vintage Story gives limited movement options (no crawling, for instance), it just feels kind of janky. I think it would have made sense if, particularly in the mines, we were able to dig out some of the piles of rubble to clear the way a little bit. For other things, like that pulley at the top of the ladder leading to the reservoir, in real life it would be possible to bump it out of the way, but in VS that's not possible, so I think it should either be removed, or perhaps recessed into the ceiling by a block (or even just half a block).
I believe with the rooms where things "Repeat" is completely intentional, and it gives me the idea that things are "Glitching", like copy/pasting part of a photo but in real life, theirs multiples areas like that in the Archives, like with the storage room the Bell was in, if you look up (And fly up since you can't build) the shelves stretch REALLY far up, abnormally far, and things start to unwind with pipes going every which way. In the commons as well, theirs a room where its copied and flipped upsidown, so theirs a room where theirs a bedroom on the ceiling as well. Theirs an area in the Noble Quarters that seems to repeat as well, and degrades each time its "Copied". Its fascinating, and I wonder what it might mean for lore or, even, potential future game mechanics
Yeah, I missed the message on that one! I think there should be a piece of lore that's easy to find that contains people griping about the weird geometry in those areas, just to make it a bit clearer!
Not stealing like Indiana Jones, the man has higher goals, steal like Bilbo Baggins under the code of the British Museum. Take from other cultures and enrich your own dwelling
"Indiana Jones-ing it and just stealing all these artifacts" Hey Indy doesn't steal the artifacts, he's an archaeologist trying to retrieve them for museums or stop villains from using them to end the world! There's only one artifact he's kept out of the movies, and it wasn't stolen by him. You're thinking Lara Croft or Nathan Drake, they're adventurer treasure hunter types that loot for personal gain.
@ It killed my ten times and it was freaking me out, so I went to /gm 2 and reduced it's HP, than went back to /gm 1 and killed it🤣🤣 And that room where you need get the pump, it's full off drifters now...they killed me ten tomes more🤣 And all of this you have to go through to get an Elk😤
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah other folks have pointed the repeating rooms out as "not a bug." I think the lore needs to make it a little clearer WHAT these people are seeing. Something like, "Time and space no longer have any meaning in our burrows. Hallways stretch forever. Rooms that were once connected are... elsewhere. Or sometimes overlaid upon themselves like a fugue of reality itself. One can go to sleep--if one can sleep at all--and wake up to yesterday."
#20Kuestions You seem to not like water-related exploration, is it because it's "cumbersome" or it's creepy? Have you played any horror games, and if you have are the water levels your least favourite or there's other ones you dislike the most (creep factor reasons or otherwise)? Sorry I don't know if these counts as different questions or not since they are related to me.
Hey there! Thanks for your question submission, but I already have one from you queued up for a #20Kuestions segment. Hang on to your question for next time, though, if you're still inspired to ask it! :)
Do you really have to beat the Resonance Archive to get an elk? Edit: I just looked it up on the change notes. You can buy the elk BEFORE going to the RA. After you give the tin bronze pickaxe to the Treasure Hunter trader in exchange for the RA location, you can then buy an elk from them.
@@Kurazarrh in 1.19.8 which I played no way get any elk, but you can get it in 1.20 pre version, just buy it, but in 1.20 rc1 you have to go to archive first☹️
They really need to do something about the combat mechanics in this game, because that boss fight was just pathetic. The animation was cool, but every attack was mehhhhh... Just stand there and hit it until you have to heal and then repeat. Other than that I really expected more enemies from a "dungeon" that was left behind even by it's guards. Perhaps something new could be nice in the future that could replace drifters in there. Like a rust-crazed zombie seraph that was left behind? Maybe? Idk. I do have to say though, they did a fantastic job on this place visually. I especially loved the mines and the library :D
Yeah, that fight was pretty tame. Apparently it's supposed to spawn in bronze locusts, but I didn't get any. I think the philosophy behind the (lack of) difficulty, though, is that Tyron wanted to make it accessible to people at all levels of skill. I think the real "hard" part of the dungeon was the mines area behind the translocator. But difficulty aside, I loved it. In fact, I might not have enjoyed it as much if it was harder \ had more monsters because I might not have had time to stop and really look at the place. A higher difficulty might actually work against it here.
After seeing this dungeon I hope more people in the community learn to just trust Tyron and let him develop this game at the pace that suits his creative flow. Because this is glorious! 🤩🎉 My gears are spinning trying piece together all the visual hints! I wonder still what role the seraphs play.

Hi How did you zoom in? 14:44
That's with the "Zoom Button Reborn" mod. :)
@ thank you!❤️
Froderic, Froderic Fronkensteen.... my goodness. 😂
:D
Hmm, yes... I like this idea more. Very preciousssssssssssssss.......
Oh my god, this boss is so hard now in 1.20, its hits on the ground make you jump and deal damage😢
Oh really? That should be interesting. It was kind of a pushover in 1.18 and 1.19. Hit a few times, back off and heal, hit a few times, etc.
Again a repeating room. Certainly not a bug 🙂
I'm gonna fall back on, "This needs to be made clearer in the in-game lore!" ;)
these are not generation bugs, its reality breaking down
you should have looked up when you were in the bell's room
EDIT: did you saw what was at the center of the main room ?
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah other folks have pointed the repeating rooms out as "not a bug." I think the lore needs to make it a little clearer WHAT these people are seeing. Something like, "Time and space no longer have any meaning in our burrows. Hallways stretch forever. Rooms that were once connected are... elsewhere. Or sometimes overlaid upon themselves like a fugue of reality itself. One can go to sleep--if one can sleep at all--and wake up to yesterday."
@@KurazarrhTyron should hire you. That was perfect 🤩
There must be something in that blue temporal goo… 🤔 Hopefully we’ll find a hint in those books 📚
#20Kuestions
You seem to not like water-related exploration, is it because it's "cumbersome" or it's creepy? Have you played any horror games, and if you have are the water levels your least favourite or there's other ones you dislike the most (creep factor reasons or otherwise)? Sorry I don't know if these counts as different questions or not since they are related to me.
Hey there! Thanks for your question submission, but I already have one from you queued up for a #20Kuestions segment. Hang on to your question for next time, though, if you're still inspired to ask it! :)
And now in 1.20.rc1 we need do all this stuff to get an Elk🤨
