Speaking of CGI, it is worth noting that when this movie came out in 2004, it was the first movie to render cloth and hair with any reasonable accuracy. Pixar had to develop for ground breaking computer software for this movie, just for rendering a natural look of cloth and how it moves. Today it is nothing special to render cloth realistically. Everyone can do it. But back in 2004, this was a major advancement.

In each Pixar movie, they push the envelope of what they can do with CGI. And they do something really hard that's never been done before. In Monsters, Inc., the really hard thing was animating Sully's fur. Each hair on his body had to move and flow realistically, which took a lot of computing power. In The Incredibles, it was Violet's long hair - it was a major project to make it move realistically.

@@PhilBagels Both Pixar and Disney do this. Tangled was the most expensive animated film ever and one of the most expensive films period ever. $260 million budget. Frozen they had to come up with a way to simulate snow realistically. Disney invented the material shader that is the industry standard, the principled BSDF shader. Pixar and Disney continually set themselves really high bars. Big Hero 6... the city of San Fransokyo was procedurally generated and they could literally go into any part of it for the film.

Not to mention the societal dislike of superheroes that started with all those lawsuits, and is implied to continue. In addition to all the things that have already been said about why she's scared, she has the added element of concern for her family's social well- being. While the incredibles aren't obsessed with social standing, it still matters to them, and the fear of being treated as outsiders is a factor as well because when you're different from most people, you never know how they'll react.

I think he's right that it has to be a mix of both. Too much moving about is bad for the family, but this is a super family, and it's pretty ridiculous to ban su]er heroes... but in any case, both of these are true. They are supers and they are outlawed.
It looks like neither Bob nor Helen had any kind of plan for this kind of thing, so they just settled. For Helen, as the more mature of the 2, it was less difficult to adjust because she's being selfless but for Bob, and it would seem for the kids, there is a lot that's missing to make them feel whole, and discarding the superb nature of their family is still unhealthy. Perhaps, it it more selfish, or maybe it's just self-care. (In Bob's case, selfish, as he's isolating from the family often). Violet should feel comfortable being a super, and Dash should be able to exercise his ability as well.
The family was going to break down entirely if this stuff kept on going. If anything, Bob should have opened up more, but after relocating at least once before, he may feel like he can't ever bring that topic up because it's going to be shut down automatically as a prevention for the worst case scenario. That's not a solution, it's a time-bomb.
Bob and Helen should have been able to talk about that one quite often, because their being super is a family issue, and regardless of the law, that cannot simply be ignored all the time.

The funny thing is, Bob or Mr. Incredible is the one who wanted to settle down, and Helen or Elastigirl is the one who didn't want to stop superheroing anytime soon with her career.
They both made sacrifices and neither of them regrets the biggest ones, but Elastigirl's is usually looked over because of this story's focus on Bob.
She became more... flexible as time changed, despite the law prohibiting her from doing the things she really loved and maybe this change came sooner than expected to Bob, so he still had the urge to continue superheroing despite him getting what he said that he wanted. They both obviously love their family very much.
Just something interesting I thought that I would mention.

Not only did Bob and Helen end up contradicting their stated goals in the intro (Bob - wanted to settle down, Helen - wanted to keep superheroing) but so did Frozone. Remember in the into how he gave he impression he was a ladies man and played the field. But later in the film we see he is totally tied down to his wife "Honey" so that he has to beg her for his super suit. Certainly not the "ladies man" he appeared in the intro.

The story focuses on Bob because he's the one trapped in an unsatisfying job with only complaints from clients when he denies their claims or repercussions to his employment when the clients are satisfied.
Helen keeps herself busy and is accomplishing something by raising her children and keeping house. Bob never feels that sort of accomplishment, even when he gets home he is expected to referee arguments and settle disputes without complaining.

The plane scene is incredible because it actually implies Helen was at some point prior military. She uses correct Naval aviation terminology, and followed all the protocols for the situation she was in.
She first started by giving her call sign India Gold Niner Niner or IG99 and requesting an approach vector. She made the tower aware of her presence and asked where she should go to set up for landing.
When she got no response she asked again and nothing.
When she hears the radar lock alarm and sees the missles she says "IG99 Transmiting in the blind guard, disengage I repeat disengage!"
Transmiting in the blind means shes talking to the tower without establishing two way communications. She's telling the tower that she can't hear them, so if they've been giving her orders to turn around or that she was entering restricted airspace, she hasn't been receiving it. Normally this would mean they would stop firing and send an escort plane to escort the Helen away from the airspace or to a safe landing zone.
After the second volley of missles she says "IG99 IS BUDDY SPIKED DISENGAGE!" which means "I am a friendly aircraft and I am receiving radar lock from friendly forces, DO NOT FIRE"
Everything else she says is also accurate minus a slight mess up with her Mayday call (which I can excuse because she's got freaking missles flying at her)

This scene has been redone, most likely for fixing language barriers. The original scene had a red line across with the word “Terminated” whenever someone was killed. Also, when bob looked up Frozone and Elastagirl, he got “Known” for Frozone and “Unknown” for Elastagirl.
When you rewatch the movie, you realize that Syndrome was hunting down Frozone and discovered Bob’s location by coincidence.

@@razkable I don't know... He never was seen openly flirting with Mirage. All we saw was the usual sophisticated small talk in higher circles, which I'm sure Bob is familiar with, being a former top superhero. He is a good guy, so it would make sense that he would not have it in him to kill someone in cold blood with his own hands (only later did he try to do so). The point of the story is that he lied to relive his past glory. That's his reward after a bland normal life, and going on superheroic adventures is played as a drug for him as soon as during the fire, where he was excited at the perspective of people being in danger. And Helen's motivation for the second half of the movie IS that she suspects (wrongly) that her husband is cheating on her. If the writers had chosen a man for Mirage's character, Helen would have never assumed cheating when she picked up the phone, and started digging around.
Also, it's not really fair to put the blame on Bob for being the reason behind Syndrome's creation. Not his fault a fan would turn evil and build an empire based on military weaponry. He's dealt with Buddy's bullcrap for much longer than the Bomb Voyage incident and is likely not the only annoying fan Bob gets, since Bob has meetings with his fans like every celebrity.

@@vianneyb.8776 - I enjoyed the points you made to @razkable, made about a year ago (I only stumbled onto ReelOz’s reaction video to ‘The Incredibles’ earlier today…
When he writes, “(the creators) made Mirage a woman for a reason… he (Mr. Incredible) would not risk his life without the reward of cheating sex with this hot woman…” I mostly disagree, but there’s a grain of truth to it:
What, exactly, is cheating, and what is not? In normal ussage, ‘cheating’ means having an extra-marital affair. (That’s a question that Helen directly asks Bob in one of the earlier drafts of this film’s script ((It’s not in the final version)).) But, extra-marital sex is only one of the ways that one can cheat. In the world of ‘The Incredibles,’ Bob does cheat on Helen by jumping at the opportunity presented by the confluence of Mirage’s offer to him (subdue the battle droid) and his being fired from Insuracare. He leads a double life, keeping a secret from Helen, his beloved, that she would in no way approve of if she found out.
So, it’s not the presence or absence of sex with someone else that is the essence of cheating; it’s the deception.
…I disagree with @razkable on the point that Bob is sleeping with Mirage offscreen - he’s not. There is one scene in which Bob ••does flirt•• with Mirage: “He’s attracted to power… so am I.” “Everything’s delicious.” …The dialogue in the scene makes it obvious. It’s flirty dialogue.
      My read is, that
      1) Bob loves Helen, and would never cheat on her sexually.
      2) Mirage, to Bob, represents not only an escape from his ‘normal’ life, but also someone who seems to understand him and the poison that is slowly eating him alive: “The Supers aren’t gone, Mr. Incredible - ••YOU’RE•• still here.”
      3) Mirage and Syndrome hit Bob at his lowest ebb/weakest point - when he was not only fired, but also abandoned by Dicker/the government, and alone, and full of doubt and with a darkened attitude towards the world. (Bob partially justified it because Mirage said she worked for a government agency (implying that the work was legal) and also because the first Mirage job was a one-time event, and not an ongoing series of behaviors that we’d associate with steady employment.)
So, yes, Bob did yield to a weakness and cheat on Helen in the nonsexual way… but the story has this action lead to a deeper, better re-engagement with his family, and also lead to events that thwart Syndrome and save the city.
We can also see the point if we take it out of the realm of sex or superpowers: Is a husband cheating on his wife, if he meets once a week, secretly for lunch, with a woman (not his wife) in a public place, in which he talks to the woman about the personal / marital problems in his life? The fact that the meeting is secret, and that it violates his wife’s privacy, makes it a non-sexual form of cheating. Depending on what he reveals to the woman, it could be evaluated as either more or less severe than the usual kind of cheating.

Dash the boy who is very hyper (super speed). And Jack-Jack the baby who is the jack of all trades (currently all over the place). All their powers relate to them in some way or another.
Also, since Jack-Jack is a baby and is still learning a lot of things it's assumed that the reason he has multiple powers currently is bc he's still learning who he is while the other kids have a better understanding of themselves hence why they have more stable abilities.

In many places of the world, there is a Good Samaritan Law, where when you in good conscience helped someone in a fatal incident within your capacity and to an extent that any professional in the field would deem rational, then you are free of liability of whatever happened to the victim during your attempt to save their life.
For example, when an EMT is giving CPR to someone to save their life, and it ends with the victim alive but having broken ribs, the victim cannot sue the EMT for any medical injury that happened while saving their life, since it is common in the field for ribs to be broken during CPR.

I really think this film was intended for adults because what’s interesting is my mum was saying when she watched the film with me as a child she picked up on things that I just laughed at. But now that I watch this as a young adult myself there’s a lot of serious issues in the film and that’s one of the things that makes this film so great.

Realsitically, superheros (and law enforcement) should not be using lethal force to address property crimes. That's how it reminds me of the real world. They were using excessive force and they were unaccountable for it until they were sued.
A train full of people were severely injured, possible deaths, over money. The bank that was robbed was insured. He could've chosen not to engage Bombvoyage in the first place, and no one would've been hurt.
A guy who wanted to unalive himself at the start of the movie is now permanently disabled. Imagine his will to live now that he's in pain everyday. If Mr. Incredible was willing to intervene, he should also be willing to pay for the permanent injuries he directly caused.

12:33 I'm guessing you're thinking of a legal system that isn't American, because one detail I remember from my highschool years about court cases is that there are three different rulings: guilty, innocent, and not guilty. I distinctly remember my teacher asking the class what they thought the difference between innocent and not guilty was, and I was the first person to get it right: Innocent is when you believe the person didn't do the crime, not guilty mean you don't think there's enough evidence to choose either of the other rulings. "Not guilty" is basically saying "Eeeeeh, they might have done it, but I don't wanna accidentally condemn an innocent person if I'm wrong". This isn't me trying to give an opinion on whatever the court case was involving Johny Dept. I actually had no idea there had been any court drama around him, but I felt the need to clear up this misconception you have if you are talking about the American court system, because you said the ruling was "not guilty" and then said he was found "innocent", but those are technically two different things.
I can't believe they skipped the NO CAPES bit!!!

    Pixar movies are the best.
By the way, Edna Mode (the Designerin) was originally supposed to be voiced by a professional actress (I don't know who anymore) but because the lines weren't recorded yet, Brad Bird, the directory of the Incredibles, did a rough version of the lines so that other voice-actors could speak around them. Well, it turned out so good, that eventually he just voiced Edna Mode in the movie so what you are hearing from Edna is actually the director of The Incredibles delivering these lines.
For more interesting facts I always suggest Cinemawins: ruclips.net/video/vT47jdPXDFA/видео.html
Also, Syndrom made his money with weapon-development which he then sold to every mayor government in the world
There is also a theory, that the supers themselves where actually originally employed by the government which actually makes 100% sense. Full video about the theory is here: ruclips.net/video/Z3Hv7fxnCJg/видео.html
