Elastigirl (the mum) was picked for marketing reasons. The guy trying to bring back the supers wanted her because he could make her powers look better than some big muscle dude like Mr Incredible (the dad).
Also,she caused less damages.She doesn't just break every thing she touches.Which results in the government having to spend less money to repair her collateral damages.

@@DocMicrowave actually, Brad bird has said, in 2018, that there was SO MUCH material made for the second one that they could make a third one. The possibility is there and that " we shouldn't wait too long. ".
There are rumors of a 2022 release but I just see fansites on that.
Keep in mind that Brad Bird doesn't really work for Pixar entirely, he was brought in as an outsider everytime he made a film for them. He DOES have a big career outside of Pixar, that's why it took so long to make a sequel.
Even now, he's busy working on a film for Skydance Animation (which is even run by the former Pixar head that brought him in to make these films).

There's a Pixar short film about what happened with Jack Jack in the first movie when he was at home with the babysitter. You should watch it, it's funny. He basically suddenly gets all his powers in one night with a babysitter who has no knowledge of superpowers and is not at all equipped with how to handle this.
Props to that babysitter, she really did handle everything the baby dished out, like she promised she could.
I really liked that babysitter, she didn't quit. Only until Syndrome tricked her into thinking he's the replacement.

They weren’t trying to ruin Bob and Helens relationship it’s just Bob was jealous that he wasn’t the one chosen for the job. That wasn’t the plot just his pride. I love this movie and reaction though ♥️

Did you notice that Screenslayer, when first introduced is wearing practically white-- but further into the movie she gets darker and darker clothing as it reveals she's the actual big baddie.

Clarification: The relocation program had been in affect since super heroes had to go into hiding since the lawsuits started. Kind of a witness protection program. This is what Helen was talking about in the first movie.
It is implied that Bob has either messed up at work or in public that their family has been relocated multiple times. Which is why she was excited about the last box in the house being unpacked in the first movie and why she was especially upset with Bob listening to the police scanners with Frozone. She just got them all moved into this new house and he was jeopardizing things again.
Also the old government agent guy said that Bob needed to STOP causing problems because they have to pay people off and wipe memories every time Bob does similar thing to what he did to his boss at the insurance company. Their conversation in the elevator in the hospital in the first movie.
The program has lost all funding in the second movie.
It is possible that Jack-Jack would grow up to become the strongest and most powerful superhero to ever lived, might as well call him King or something.

After almost 14 years the movie picks right after the first one. I remember theaters being packed for this movie.
Also dash’s voice actor is different from the first movie and it’s impressive.
I remember going there at my local movie theater. It was pretty packed. It was an awesome experience.
I love how in the first movie, violet only used her force fields for protection, but in this movie she uses them as weapons.

As Edna said, it isn't uncommon for Super babies to have multiple powers when their young but they eventually just grow into one that's most dominant, but Jack Jack is the child of Mister Incredible and Elastigirl whome are amongst the most powerful Supers, if I'm going by Syndrome's line up of all the Supers he killed in order to get the Omnidroid strong enough to face him is proof enough, Those genes make Jack Jack a unique case to have many more then normal powers, I counted well into 20 how many powers he had, and something tells me he's going to be keeping most of not all of them

Anybody notice how the police weren't asking the right questions during the interrogation? The one question they didn't ask was *"were there casualties?"* . They probably saved every person in the city. Excluding the people they saved in the square, they also dismantled the drill from going anywhere else, stoping it from ensuring more damage to civilians. It would have kept going destroying everyone if it weren't for them.

In case you missed it in the first movie, The Superhero Relocation Program was set up after the all the Superhero scandals in the glory days. It’s been around for 15 years not just a few months.
I don't understand why you have to question Elastigirl being at the forefront. The dad produces more chaos, she is more organized and levelheaded. You don't have to continuously question a woman being at the front. Also, I love your family, your dynamic, your ideals, some places like even America have learned of the father-mother roles switching, its just certain people that either were forced into the old ideals so much so they can't see the other side or people that can and refuse to act for the other side.

No you guys are getting the timelines messed up. The movie picks up where the first left off so no time passes since Syndrome.
The reason why the Geezer Beam and the other heros didn't answer the direct lines was because it's the point in time Hero's were outlawed. So the lines were disconnected.
Popularity-wise, Elastigirl is the most liked by the public in their world. Mr. Incredible has caused too much property damage to get a majority to like him.
It was a marketing ploy for Deavor to pick her over him.

They did not turn Vanossgaming into a character in this movie. It’s just a coincidence that both people are associated with owls. But it is cool knowing that you used to watch him. I’ve been watching him since 2011, I’m 17 now.
What's really messed up is that she blames the hero's for not picking up the phone when called. Even if being a hero was illegal by then, but the real problem is how many of them had Syndrome already killed? So they couldn't have answered? How many had the Government been relocating and there numbers where changed? Was it even there fault
She didn't blame the heroes per see, she blamed the trust her father put on them. He was so certain that heroes would save them that he put his trust in them before his family's safety. Her goal was to not let anyone trust supers like that ever again.
I’m not sure on the timing, but if it was after the supers were decommissioned, I feel it was really early after. Syndrome started killing heroes some years before the first movie(he wouldn’t have been doing it right after heroes were made illegal, he was still just a kid).
I consider Jack Jack an Omega-Level Super. He was loosely based off of Franklin Richards from The Fantastic Four whose an Omega-Level Mutant with literal God-tier abilities. They're both superheroes who can basically do anything.
I believe he just represents that for the gig. Eventually he’ll lose his powers as much as I would prefer him to keep them and become that Franklin rich type character. I’m skeptical because Edna said in the first movie that it’s normal for supers to have more than one power when they’re young. Jack Jack was a weird case because he had many.

I like the second movie but it's biggest criticism is that it's basically just a redo of the first one.

Helen was selected to be at the forefront because she did her job without collateral damage to property and people in order to show all of the gr8 reasons super heroes were needed.

My only real slight in this movie is the lack of air hypoxia thing. I’ve see;a man under the effects be told that if he doesn’t apply the oxygen mask that he was going to die, and he sat there smiling and said “I…I don’t wanna die…” so no. I don’t believe elastagirl would’ve had the right mind to apply the mask at all, even if she was successful in shooting the flare. More likely she would’ve just laughed about it and then died.
But, suspend disbelief for the movie.. the real lesson here is that hypoxia is scary, and you should equip your own mask before assisting others, as instructed in pre flight instructions
Didn't the window breaking give her more oxygen to breathe, which made her get better faster? I'd also assume she'd be more resistent than a normal human in many ways other than just being flexible.
She had training on how to fly a plane and I think it's safe to say she has training on dealing low oxygen.
