My oldest has their birthday in the summer vacation, which means throwing parties witch class mates has always been a headache. For their 3rd birthday we went to Efteling to celebrate. He had an absolute blast. It took us 4 hours just to walk though the fairy tale forest. The Gnome path where parents are "not allowed" to enter was such a big boy moment, where he could safely and confidently break off from us to explore freely. They have so much for the tiniest of your family to enjoy themselves. The people of Laaf, the play grounds scattered about, Carnival Festival and Dream Flight are great for the toddlers. His birthday was such a success that when he woke up the next morning (after falling asleep on the way home and not waking up as we put him to bed) he saw the bag I had taken with me to the park, grabbed it and expectantly stood by the front door in his PJs, saying "lets go!") It is absolutely worth it to take your very young child to Efteling.
Regarding the food- we always take our own in the UK thanks to ridiculous prices. We fed a family of four chicken and pizza by Max and Moritz for the equivalent of £16. And the portions were very generous
@@coaster_dad And how more you come, how better you gonna understand the Efteling, how more the love shall grow for the park... It is a slow down nature park with playgrounds for young and old.
I love the video's you made in Efteling. And i mustsay, that for someone from the UK, you pronounced the rides really good. Droomvlucht and vliegende hollander are hard words to say correct when you are not dutch speaking. I have one or two tips: you talked about bringing in your own food. That is solething a lot of people from Holland and Belgium do (i am a Belgian). What we do, is that we go on the gondoletta, and eat our sandwiches in the boat. A lot of people do this, you get a nice relaxing ride and eat at the same time. And that is okay for the staff! And as you said, it is a big park, and to really enjoy it you need more days. We always stay at bosrijk. In my opinion the best option! Also when traveling as a family, you have a kitchen and prepare your own meals. It cuts the costs... 😂. We are going in april 2025 for 4 days in one of the best houses you can get there ( luxe boshuys by the lake ).
I got an other tip!! When you go to Polle's Keuken to eat a pancake, order a Naturel pancake and use only stroop and/or powdered sugar, that's how the Dutch eat there pancakes!!! All the the other opties is luxe and do more wrong (however a cheese pancake is also delicious if prepared properly) than good for your pancake. And, when you have questions, ask an other strange Dutch visitor and say:"May I ask you something?", for sure he wil help you!!!
The locals like to pack their own lunch and go on the Gondoletta to have a nice lunch-cruise around the park. Don't be a ecoterrorist like I used to be as a kid and feed the ducks and swans half your sandwich. Yes, they will eat it and follow your boat around, but bread isn't good for ducks. If you really want that gaggle of ducks following your boat, take some grapes and feed 'em those
Speaking of feeding the animals, in the Fairy tale forest there's a store at Herautenplein (the one with the magic clock) that sells dove feed. If you have small children it is an absolute must. The pigoens are pretty tame and if you are patient they will eat it from your hand. The pigeons are the only living fairy tale in the park and it's so much fun. they used to spray paint them in colors when I was young. these days they don't do that anymore, but that doesn't take away from the enchantment at all.
It can get busy during the weekends or holidays. This looks like a normale day not a busy one you can get those sometimes in the summer. Also the enterainment is usually a lot less on quite days so if you like that sort of thing don't come when it says quite day on the website. O and last pont if you go to efteling leave youre adreneline habit in the hotel room. The coasters aren't that thrilling this is not that kind of park. Sorry just one thing if you have the regulair hours so till 6 or 7. The major thrill rides ussualy get a bit quiter after 5 and don't do max and morris at the start of the day the ques normaly go down after 2 hours on normale days. And Chriss your advise is spot on
Wrote a well considered comment adding some other tips as someone who went recently - and it's deleted or moderated for some reason. Guess I won't bother in future.

My aunt and uncle moved over from the UK and live in an area called hilversum just outside Amsterdam and visited here last year and was blown away.
It is such a lovely park and I think most people are blown away the first time they experience it! 😀

Top tip: go to other theme parks if you want to ride thrilling coasters 👀
Ha ha. Not really what Efteling is for 😉
@@coaster_dad Someone needed to tell them that when they put in a Vekoma looper and a dive coaster 🙃

That's frustrating, there's nothing on my side in the held for review section 😔
