You are a part of Japan’s best videographer. Please don’t forget your value. I hope you are doing well and, I’m glad I was able to learn so much from you as a part of RUclips.
I honestly have been watching this channel for over ten years and now I'm now a dude in his late 20s lol. But it's so wonderful being able to view japan through the eyes of someone that would also be a bit different looking than everyone. It's like we're all living vicariously through you. So thank you!
I love exploring such remote places in Japan! I tend to stray far away from touristy spots😂 You get to learn so much more about Japan, and the experience is much more authentic! Who's with me??
This is just quality stuff right here, I love when you make this type of video!! Thanks for making Canada proud to have such a lovely person represent us in Japan!
@@Ciaela just what I was thinking while watching this video. This is my first time on your channel, but I love it already! Can't wait to see more! thank you for sharing.
I always find myself smiling watching your videos because you have a way of presenting the charm in every place you visit. Hope things are going well for you there.
I went here 4 years ago and stayed for 2 days . This is my favorite part of Japan !! I also stayed at the same hotel. The people there are super friendly and if your lucky you can see live concerts.
I also have some videos of the island on my Vlog. Everyone should check them out. This is one of the few gems in Japan that aren't swarming with tourists.
On the return trip it would be nice to take a deeper dive into the program for the students. The Oki Islands have a lot going for it, maybe more so than other remote areas trying to lure young people to work and live. Nice work with the drone. Colors were really popping throughout the video. 👍
Thank you for sharing this video! 😊I love when the locals open up and share parts of their life. The land is so nice, the horses 🐴 😍I want to visit so bad. Hopefully one day. IT touched me when Kanta talked about his homeland..makes me miss my home too but also appreciate the place where I live now.
thanks for shot wonderful video.I felt excited to watched it cuz Im gonna move there Ama-cho next month as a chef so hopefully you gonna go back there asap then youll enjoy again.
Whoa all the food looks soooo delish and what a beautiful place in general. The vibe of the Nakamura Inn is so cool! Also the ribbon tradition is so touching 😭 I'd love to visit Japan again, but for now this video will do hahaha :D
Good morning Micaela! (Well it’s morning for me anyways) I’m usually a lurker, but this video made me want to complement your work: the sunset mountains, the multicolored blues in the water, the kind ambience of the inn, etc. Your cinematography has such a warm, human aspect to it. I’ve been watching you since I was in middle school, like I remember your music school vlogs and everything. You’ve really been doing this for a long time and always bring a lovely “slice of life” atmosphere to everything you put out. I just wanted to say thank you. You’ve been a big part of my life since I was 14 or 15 so every time you post it’s like an old friend has come to visit. Even if it’s only for a short while. Thanks again for everything you do ❤
OMG!! they are singing the canadian anthem . i have been to japan 3 times and this is the first time i have seen something like this . haha . i have to visit here now when i go to japan again . btw i am from Northern Ontario Canada
I was lucky to visit Ama-cho in January 2020, for the Kojin-san ceremony. Ayako at the tourist office was so sweet and helpful! She connected me with her neighbors in Ooi, a village of 15 people where she and her husband have settled. They welcomed me with such warmth and opened their homes and hearts to include me in the ceremony. The Oki islands still celebrate a lot of Shinto traditions that have died out on the main islands of Japan. I also biked all over the island. Micaela, I want to go back too ♥!

i'm actually in tears because of the spirit of the islanders
They're so cool. I wanna go baccccck!
And I've gone misty eyed over the idea of making ribbons to be able hold hands for longer. Emotional!
Me too. Heartwarming!
