Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how amazing it is that - in spite of 3 strokes - Luca is still able to converse in English, just like before!! Hang in there, Luca - we are all sending you good, healing vibes! Sara, we know this is tough for you, between Luca and Luce - prayers for continued strength and energy for you as well. 🥰
Luca is young. He would not be able to converse if he was older, I can assure you
@@rainbelledrops1858 I don’t think that is accurate. Young or old is not the determining factor. It depends on what part of the brain was affected. Anyway, we need to focus on Luca’s recovery by sending positive energy and not what could have been😊

@@garybrunet6346 This is true, what you say about brain location that was affected by the stroke, kind of like the myth of catching a cold due to cold weather. Luca's age, however, can go a long way in supporting his overall stamina to heal. Best of luck, love and blessings to all of you.
If you are looking for a silver lining, think about the special time that Luce is able to spend with her Nonnas and Nonno! She is learning how much they also love her and support her when an emergency is happening and she will feel a special bond with them forever ❤

As an ICU nurse, I am so glad you are documenting this experience and sharing it with others. I think it helps shine a light on some very real experiences. The hospital life can be so tough. You both are handling it with Grace. ❤ and big prayers sent, continually.
Seeing someone you love come to visit regularly is so good for the spirit. The bathing and dressing is just the best for both Sara and Luca. You are a beautiful couple. I wish you both the best of outcomes. Your baby girl is so precious!!

Luca, you look so much better each time we see you. And to see you sitting up in the shower was such a wonderful sight. You are making huge progress already. Sara, having CPR training was essential in saving Luca's life. If ever there was a time to prove to the world how valuable that training is, it is now. To all of Sara and Luca's friends around the world, please get CPR training of some kind. There are even online clasaes now and they are very affordable. Little Luce, you are a budding film star. She was waving and the camera left her and she didn't like that one bit. That little wave is so adorable. Happy One Year Anniversary!
Thank the Lord for Luce. I noticed the same thing, and finally was able to laugh because I’m always crying. Luce must be able to see herself in the “viewer”, and it’s so adorable how she sits there and smiles at that camera. ❤
So true about the CPR training. This has served a reminder to me to reacquaint myself with it, as there have been changes in procedure since I learnt it decades ago.
Everyone should do first aid training every 2 years. You can do CPR lessons every year.

On an airplane they tell you on an regency to put on your oxygen mask first even before your child because if you don't you can't help your child. So, pleas take time to eat & rest.

Nothing like a hot shower to really make you feel human again! So glad Lucas doing so well and Sara of take care of yourself too! So true. I couldn’t shower for about 5 days after a brain aneurysm, so it was great when I was finally able to get up and take a shower.

It was so beautiful to see how much Sara loves Luca. She was in there taking care of her love! A blessing how much they love and need each other! It brought tears to my eyes, because this is what true love means! For better or worse, in sickness and in haelth! ! Praying for Luca to get stronger each day! I respect this woman's dedication to help her husband.

I had a CSF leak before. That headache is no joke. It's amazing how much pain comes from lifting your head any amount. I'm glad you have someone to help you eat laying flat. I was alone 500km from home in a seriously crappy hospital so I had no choice but to tough it out to get the basics done.
Sorry to hear of your suffering. Nothing scarier than finding yourself alone in a run down, understaffed hospital overseas. And you suffering such a serious condition! Can you say something as to how the leak is repaired? Is the repair permanent or something that requires periodic examination?
@@hd-xc2lz I was very lucky. It was a tiny leak from a botched spinal anesthesia, and it resolved on its own quickly with no lasting effects. I fortunately, can't relate to what Luca is going through beyond the horrible headache, especially when I did anything but lay completely flat.
That happened almost 40 years ago. I was told they could inject a little blood into the leak to seal it if it didn't resolve on its own. I've never had any follow-up but I've also never had any symptoms suggesting it was leaking again.
Luca's situation is far more serious and complex than mine was.
I heard about what happened to Luca while I was watching Trent & Allie today. I'm sending tons of healing vibes and positive energy your way. Comforting thoughts and prayers to you both Sara and Luca.
Sarah, I'm astounded by your strength and resilience. No doubt it is exhausting and stressful for you, but you soldier on. The result of that is that Luca can see Luce on the screen, see her smiles, and know that you are taking care of both him and the home front. It is fortunate that you have family there to support you through this. And you have a large community of people you've never met who are sending your entire family strength. You are inspiring Sara.
Do realize that at some point, possibly when Luca has recovered significantly (and he will) you may have your own exhaustion hit you. I have a friend who had to take care of her daughter for awhile, and no chance to take care of herself. When the daughter healed she got very sick with a cold that lasted a few weeks. Her body needed to rest.
I tell you this as I do hope you are able, also, to find time for your own health. Eat healthy, try to get a good night's sleep, and say YES to any help you can get. I know that you are the only one allowed to visit Luca (that's quite sad), otherwise I know that other family members would do some of the visits. So, within the confines of the situation, find time for YOU.
I look forward to your video when Luca returns home. You have a lovely renovated and warm home now, so Luca can recover comfy in the knowledge that there aren't a ton of projects requiring completion.
I'm a senior woman from Canada who enjoys your videos, and find myself looking forward to updates. But if you have to drop something to create rest time for yourself, cut back on RUclips. You can always pick it up later as things improve.

Caregiving takes a lot out of a person, especially for a loved one. I am glad you have family supporting you and Luca, but make sure you take care of yourself too! Thank you for taking the time to share his progress, I am so pleased to see how well he is doing!

Luca has such a positive attitude. It must be so scary for him but he is being so brave. Just staying in the hospital is traumatic along with all of the testing but he will make it through this stronger than ever. Prayers for a full recovery 🙏

My cousin had a number of strokes and I would pray that he could get to the point Luca is at, but sadly it was over 8 years ago, he still can’t speak, even with much therapy. Luca & family please look up "Dr Pierre Kory detox covid vaccine" (there is high levles of mercury and GRAPHENE that needs to be detox plus also parasites). Dr Pierre recommends Keto diet and also intermittant fasting plus Ivermectin. Look this up.
You two are a blessing to each other, and Luce is going to be an amazing human, being raised by two such beautiful souls. Prayers continue….
@@jansmith3158 Ivermectin has not been proven to be helpful at all for Covid(which he doesn't have) and could be very dangerous. It was originally used as anti parasite for farm animals. He doesn't have parasites, either.

My apologies as I cannot watch it all the way thru due to the hospital triggering my ptsd from my late hubby spending 10 months in the hospital prior to passing. It’s too hard.

I am so sorry for your loss. It has been over 12 years since my Husband spent so much time in hospital and treatment centers for Cancer. I too lost my beloved 💔. Hugs, love and prayers 🙏 ❤
