    As always, sounds good. It wouldn't hurt to try a seven string maybe tune to drop A or drop B. You are such a good player I don't think you'll have much trouble with a seven string You are good enough to play an 8 but I say go with the 7!

    First of all, I wanna hug your old Les Paul and tell her you didn’t mean that shit! Haha! Yeah, unfortunately those Gibby kids haven’t done a lot to bring those guitars into the modern age real well.
    Now the tones were ALL kickin’!! That B standard tuning is so much more impressive than I expected. Polychrome doesn’t hurt at all! Haha! Killer chops as always! I am curious about a 7 string guitar! Maybe snag one and use it as a give away if you don’t jive with it?

    I went through a low tuning phase one time, just to try something different, put 12’s on my Charvel tuned it to drop C i like a lot of modern metal but just not into learning that style,now that i’m older i’ll stick to 9’s and stay in standard tuning

    I totally think you should go 7,8, or (hear me out) 9 string. I personally have a 9 string. Though C# std as usual isn’t easily usable even with 30” scale length, if you tune it F# to high A it goes super low and super high. Giving you the best of all worlds. Yes the neck is wide, but you do get used to it after a while. I went straight from 6 to 9 and only took about a week to transition. If you go with any extended range, PLEASE go with a light speed!

      We built a SWEET 8 string on a recent Twitch stream 👌🏻

    • @grantglover1799
      @grantglover1799 Год назад

      @@McRocklin That’s awesome! I honestly didn’t know that. 8s are great too. A bit of an easier transition I’m sure and if you don’t care about a high A string then it’s great. Obviously you know how finicky a high string probably is anyway since you’re tight with Mr. Vai and that’s why he ended up opting for a low B on the OG 7. Hopefully it’s inspiring to you. Love your playing and videos!

    Get one of those headless multiscale 7's. The 7th string has a more pleasant timbre on the 27 inch scale.

Got any Jackson's on the wall? Also to bad there wasn't a foot switch to change those settings... 😄🤘🎸

    That sounds sick!! Speaking from personal experience get a 7. The 8 feels like a totally new instrument where as the 7 is much more manageable. And if you wanna go lower than B, definitely get the 27" I have 2 baritone scale vaders on order and cannot wait to receive them!

      I think multi-scale is best for extended range guitars. Sounds good, tension is right, and is super comfortable to play.

    All sounding awesome man! I love baritone guitars but struggle with the 28" scale and bigger frets. Do you not find the string tension a bit soft even with the 12's on? like, easy to bend notes out of tune?

    • @McRocklin
      @McRocklin  Год назад +1

      Yes it’s a little soft, but mostly when bending

      @McRocklin Unfortunately, none of my guitars really like anything lower than D standard, and that's a stretch. And Sabbath is my favorite band.
      I used to play a lot of that stuff in E or Eb, but it just didn't have the same punch.
