    He was such a huge impact on rock n roll. Was a major influence to my favorite group The Beatles. Yet, he died broke and ended up in a poor mans cemetery. His music will live forever.

    He had a good smooth voice. He hurt his leg in the car crash that killed Eddie Cochran who was a legendary rocker himself. Cochran wrote and sang Summertime Blues.
    Gene Vincent was in the car with him and his girlfriend and injured his leg.
    He met the Beatles early on when touring England.
    Lennon liked BeBop A Lula.

      Gene Vincent injured his leg earlier on his motorcycle while he was in the Navy.
      His leg was apparently healed by the time this performance was made.
      He was in the same accident in April 1960 that killed Eddie Cochran. His leg was also permanently injured and never was the same afterwards. He passed away on October 12, 1971 of a ruptured ulcer, internal hemorrhage and heart failure.

      the great Joe Moretti, ex Vince Taylors "Brand New Caddilac" and the session for Kidd's "Shakin all Over" etc etc. I love how we can hear him singing along to himself on the solos, a shame the tv company only used just the one mic to record the whole group. This was a one-off show, performed live after just one quick rehearsal. Sure the drummer and bassist had just a few weeks earlier been backing Vincent and Cochran on their 1960 UK tour, but Joe had not, he was drafted in just for this one trip.

    • @djangorheinhardt
      @djangorheinhardt 2 года назад

      Joe was one of the few guitar players who could replicate other guitarists' solos and still add a little something to them .He emigrated to South Africa in the 1960's ,I think ,and died ,still in South Africa in 2006 ,( again I think ,but check those dates!)
