@Josh Traffanstedt Thank you! Jerry Jone's ego to this day is still screwing up the Cowboys. What about how long he made Jimmy Johnson wait to be inducted into the Cowboys ring of honor?
People talk about Al Davis and how the Raiders slipped late in his time as the Raiders owner. Younger people forget that from the late 60's on the Raiders had about a 30 year run where the maintained a level of excellence along with a few outlier years where they were in the AFC championship game and in the 2002 Superbowl.
Jerry Jones could have easily positioned the Cowboys to go on a 25 to 30 year run of greatness but he was too busy flexing his ego and trying to monetize everything in sight.

Been watching football for 50 years, that was the best team I've seen! Probably could have won 5 in 8 yrs time... the Bills ran over everyone in the AFC, and looked like a 9-7 wild card team in the Super Bowl vs. Cowboys..

1 of the greatest FB coaches of all time. Won at every level. Highschool, college and the nfl. Still has the quickest worst to 1st ever. Worst to 1st in 4 years. A dynasty. His major in psychology was a major factor. Not just the x's one o's. Shame jerry ran him off. No telling how his resume would have ended up being .

I’m not saying that Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones would’ve had a run like the one the patriots did with Kraft and Belichick but dang it Jerry! you guys could’ve had five or six Super Bowls if you had just taken your ego and shoved it up your poop shooter and chilled out. All you had to do was sit back and watch Jimmy bring in the championships

What could have been.

I don’t remember the details of why, but I remember one of the players said on the plane coming back that Jimmie threw a “super bowl caliber” tirade. I can’t tell you how many times I thought of that watching Garrett clapping when they were playing terrible. Talent isn’t everything. Players need motivation.

One of the greatest Dallas coaches of all time!!! Jerry was an absolute idiot forgetting rid of Jimmy. Jimmy taught all of his players the desire to win and not except anything less. He also taught all of those players life lessons. He didn't coddle or hold anyone's hands. You either play or move on, Jimmy wants afraid to find someone better, with "less talent" and definitely for less money!!!

There will always be a lot of "What If's" but if Jimmy would have stayed there's no telling. I have said many times before. Bring Jimmy or Bill Parcels to be Gen Manager of the Cowboys. Jerry should bring somebody that has been there and accomplished themselves with Cowboy legends and NFL as well. There are several Cowboy legends who come to mind who would make great Gen Manager's

Part of me is jealous of our parent's generation to be able to witness the greatness of the rise of the Cowboys, they really could have been a dynasty before the Patriots did.
Then part of me feels bad for those same people that watched the organization tank the last 30 years. I've been a Cowboy for 30 years and remember watching how good they were growing up, and I don't know what's worse.

    Pls listen to these.
Two angels in the history of the cowboys.
Pls I urge you , to get away from all operations. Hire all top class professionals and give them targets. Still this team is so talented.
ITS YOU , who killed all those talents.
Cowboys could have easily won 2/3 more without you. Wake up. Or once you wouldn’t be able to wake up , this team will win again.
    God bless cowboys.

It seemed to me like a repetition of history; think about it with Tom Landry a young, hungry HC. And Staubach & TD & Doomsday. Jimmy’s teams reminded me quite a bit of Tom’s teams. The ‘70s Cowboys won 2 and lost 3. It was the two to the Steelers that were hard to take.

No ? It was a great team effort with so many great players. When Jimmy left like about all cowboys fans I was frustrated. Switzer was a good coach. To win a sb 1st year in nfl no matter the talent is asking alot. It to be a 3 peat asking impossible. But with Jimmy who had been there with the players assistant coaches it's much more possible. What upset me with Jimmy leaving was no team has ever 3 peated. We had a chance at enormous history. What that would've meant is unimaginable. Jones should've hung up his pride and Jimmy have what ever he needed. Sadly it didn't work that way. The turn around of the cowboys everyone always says in 4 years. It's 3 years. 1-15 at the end of Dec. 1989. To SB Champs Feb 3rd 1993. 3 years n 6 weeks. 3 seasons. 90 91 n 92. It's 3 years from the absolute worst to the absolute best. To conclude- should never forget those assistant coaches. Norv turner. Dave WHANSTEd. Butch Davis. Joe Alphonso. Sp? They've never got the credit they deserve.
