Everything else, adventure world, pennys persuit, plant levels, the coins and gems are all kept with whatever they had recently played, most plants arent unlocked while my main profile has everything, except most of the premiums So that could be a reason they removed it, I mean playing your main profile and getting rewards but the other profile doesnt get it but keeps the streak, so maybe they didnt think it through about how arena was going to work with multiple profiles, thats just me I mean it would be cool for multiple accounts, you can do a run with no level up stuff, just old vanilla pvz2.
The gold bloom was so op, my dad use it aswell with the Imitator back when it was not needed real money to buy. Literally get a free 700 suns headstart for 2 slots

I remember power pinch and somehow I actually kinda liked it lol Later they replaced it and I was kinda sad ngl but power snow and toss are much better I also remember being so hyped for the game’s release because the trailer looked so cool and time travel is just a cool concept
I kinda thought for a while before i whatched this vid that the old world maps were exclusive to the chinese version due to the trailers for the game showing one big boss and the map design
still remember how premium plants used to be the only plants with a different background besides the normal lt. blue one, then they added world variant backgrounds
I remember the old map, i spent a lot of time to get those world keys but then the maps just got updated to the one you know, I also remember if they were gonna add more stuff to a map, they would show a imp or two sitting on a iron beam or something.
I remember all of that. I used to play pvz on my dads tablet when the game just released. This game is still on his tablet, and still on an old version. Not the OLDEST version, but one of the older ones. I'm gonna go charge it and get some nostalgia
@@mr.productions327 I dont actually remember, but I can say that there were no Jurassic marsh or modern day, no arena/Penny's pursuit, keys would unlock ANY world you want, not just the next one. There also were some levels in ancient Egypt where you had to find pairs of pictures, and many other things were different
I remember when Ancient Egypt - Days 7, 16, and 23 were Mummy Memory, and when the harder Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas, Wild West, Far Future, and Modern Day levels were part of the main completion
i still have the old versions and dang theres so many things the game change and remove like for example ancient egypt the mummy memory levels, or when the game actually gave you a tutorial on how to use the power-ups unlike now where they just tell you to use them. i also remember when after beating like level 8 or other gargantuar levels you would earn a world key to pick any world you would want. now your forced to go in order which i hate.
another OG detail, though doesn’t go as far back as the others: the plant changes. Torchwood used to be exactly like in pvz1, where it didn’t deal any fire damage and couldn’t melt ice, jack-o-lantern used to be a hold-to-fire plant before they realized how ridiculous that was, and chomper i think was changed as well, though i don’t remember exactly
Torchwood actually got nerfed in PvZ2 since launch. The original dealt area damage in the tile around him, which is why he was always so good. In PvZ2, they removed it, meaning it was just double damage to one zombie at a time.
Even tho I haven't played this game for years,I remembered all of these, last month,I have downloaded this game back to play but after I deleted it cuz I personally don't like it when you can upgrade your plants
Gem drops in adventure was another old thing. Basically the same as coin drops, sometimes a random gem drop happened while in adventure. Now a days it’s exclusive to pennys pursuit in the zombies fights but only when you get to the bonus prize phase
I remember where one of the levels in Egypt was a matching game. But it seems like they removed it, but I'm happy for that because I sucked at that level.
I remember the old designs for the Zomboss levels at the end of the worlds, they looked really cool but now they just look plain with a few decorations when I realized looking back into the worlds and thats it but you can still find their old designs in the background in Pennys Persuit, Im ñretty sure that are.
I barely remember #1 despite I‘m an old player, and #1 music feels like more rough than the one now. Now that you mentions #2, I remember it, I just use Power Toss, even Power Electricity feels weak but I think it do Max Health X% damage instead of regular damage, just like Power Snow, I think you need to use two apple pencil to use this #2. #3, I think I remember such thing, but forgotten most, I think I gave up playing because it’s too difficult xd. #4 lmao, I think I know why I quitted now. #5 Yes, I did remember so excited waiting for the next world. #6 I never noticed the details when I was young, so I kinda missed it, but It was so beautiful compare to now. #7 Wait, really? Xd #8 I definitely remember this, I just bought every plants it sold in the store when they release even after no more new worlds, I am 100% sure there was no level back then, then I quitted for a while. #9 I saw that on RUclips Videos, then I use it, it was eyes-opening when I was a teen #10 yes, I definitely did the epic quest for Gold Bloom, kinda sad I missed some too. Pls continue this series, I need those memory back!
I started when all the worlds are there, and if you beat ancient egpyt day 6 you will get enough keys to unlock every world. (there was no penny persuit or arena)
Man, I honestly forgot about a lot of these features and it was really nice to see them again, even if the memory is just a blur. The ones I do remember clearly though are the old title screen, the old world map, Gargantuars being added, and the Gold Bloom epic quest. I didn’t even know the Gold Bloom became a premium plant and the Spring Bean Blover combo. The one I really missed the most though was the old world map. I really enjoyed the branching levels and the star challenges, and the old map just really made the whole world feel more immersive. Thanks for making this video and showing the old stuff!
I played pvz 2 for 8 years and only 2 things from this list i remember were no plant upgrades and epic quests for gold bloom aloe and electric curant Also in older versions there was a bug that didn't displayed google play games button so i couldn't save my game and now i don't have gold bloom (this bug was fixed a few months ago)
1. I remember it because the let's play that introduced me to the game showed this in the first episode. 2. Never saw it in action, but I remember reading about it on the wiki. Thought it only worked on a single zombie. :/ 3. Wow, having to finish a level *three times* seems a bit excessive. They could've just given you a star for each fullified objective. 4. _WHY WAS THAT A THING_ 5. The old world selection map looks... decent. I think I prefer the new one though. ^^ 6. Never played on the old map, but it looked really cool. :D The branching paths idea is pretty cool. 7. That's... also dumb. I can kinda understand the lack of Zomboss battles, but no Gargs? :( 8. Yeah, I definitely remember that. If you don't make unreasonably hard levels, there's no need for leveled-up plants, so they're really not needed. 9. *YES* 10. I wish I didn't lose my old save file, because I definitely played this Epic Quest. Now Gold Bloom is premium-only Q_Q
I remember when the gargantuar level in ancient Egypt gave you all the keys to the other worlds, but now you have to beat every world before getting to the next, it sucks
One thing that the speed up button was added is because they also connect it to PVZ's minigame called Zombie Nimble Zombie Quick, a pool mini-game where the game speeds up basically everything. It's actually a good thing from my analysis.
i still remember the old map tbh i like the old one but they just make simplistic style doesnt get most of the world charm like far future or neon mixtape tour maybe they can add branching levels plus extra levels they removed it also now you need to do the campaign in order like why
Man the old version was so hard to play looking back at how it worked. If you wanted some plants you would have to endure the challenges that they threw. (Endangered plants was REALLY rough back then.) there also was a point where you had to get a certain amount of keys before you could cross the world barrier at some point. Also anyone remember when sap-fling came out?
yeah lol, when i made a new account and replayed everything i was like lol why do they give me key at the end of the world when i can just select it anyways , and yes i played in 2013/2014 when key actually had a purpose
I remember pvz2 just release, the map is like a puzzle type of map, and theres some doors lock and you need to beat a level with a key to unlock a certain area with a plant packet inside.
I remember doing the 3 epic quests (Gold Bloom, Electric Currant, Aloe), back then i thought those we're the hardest levels (i probobly had skill issue)
In my opinion, old pvz 2 was so much better than what we have now except for the micro transactions obviously. I miss the old maps and now they're just a straight line to the finish.
I wish they would've kept the old map design. I loved those labyrinth(ish) style paths that went all over. Also the plant level up system was worst move made for PvZ2 ever...
i remember at first the gargantuar giving only 1 key that you could use on ANY world but then they changed to a key chaine wich let you unlock every world at once but now its after you deffeat zombozz that you get the key to the next set world instead of just a world you chose (sorry for my bad spelling)
@@zackcool878 Yes, it was more fun. Now it's just a straight line which is kinda boring. The good plants was behind gates and to unlock it you needed keys. It was more fun and you played lot more Ancient Egypt than now. You just complete 25 levels and probably never get back there again. And the old map design was much better.
I love how the loading screen used to say "It's About Time", nodding at "It's about time we got a sequel" while also being about time travelling. I also miss the old layout of the Worlds. It had more uniqueness to them and made it an actual world, plus the gates locking plants was something I loved because if you wanted them, you had to do something to get them, and they were usually pretty good plants that were locked, rather than the defaults. I remember when we anticipated the blanked out worlds and speculated what it'd be, Far Future being some "Alien world" we'd get overpowered plants in. I miss it all, man. Good times. I still wish they'd update the maps to be like the old ones, though
I remember playing when big wave beach hadn't released and I was so curious and watched videos of a random guy editing and saying the next world was "ice age" i really got hypnotized with his fire watermelon concept.
I remember when BWB was extremely difficult than what it is today. Like I can clearly remember Day 13. It is produce 5000 sun and never have more than 15 plants. Tide reaches all the way at the back, and that the water line starts halfway. The 5 starting Lily Pads are near the front in a cross formation. And the early zombie spawns were Snorklers and regular Zombies. Now, they nerfed the heck of BWB in which Day 13's formation was changed that the lily pads start at the back instead.
Dude, I remember almost ALL of this. I was a kid back then, but I took the game quite seriously in how I played. The things I don't remember are zombotrons and gargantuars not being in the old versions, maybe because it was already added or I completely forgot. I unfortunately missed out on the Rescue the gold bloom update, but I do remember it. This is just nostalgia man
Remember the yeti hunt? When you would play like a "special event " and the yeti would come in some time of the level you gotta basically kill him before he walks out of the feild.
Here's one of my favourite fun facts: Previously, Chili Beans could kill Pianist Zombies, as when they squashed the Chili Bean it counted as eating them (the Barrel Roller wasn't affected as the barrel is an inanimate object). However they couldn't kill Bulls as they are robots, however one update eventually flipped them around. Also in the same update, a single Chili Bean could no longer kill multiple zombies at once
The springbean + clover combo was so so good I thought I would be the only person discovered it. I found it in the pirate sea map and then abuse it through entire other islands. And I still remember that i played since there was only 3 islands too ( like nearly 10 years ago) and then someday I downloaded the game again and it got Dark Age island and I was freaked out! Those are some of the best gaming experience ever in my life
I remember all of these! We got it on my mom's phone when it was released since we used to play the old game together. Oh man this was a blast from the past. We were so hyped for the update to come so we could see what new worlds would be released. It took years though, and by then we'd stopped playing. I picked it back up a couple of years ago and was amazed to see all the new things they added. That was before the Penny's Pursuit and Arena Updates when it was more simple and f2p.
You missed: 1. Mummy memory(bring so much memories back) 2. Create new profiles (my PvZ account is too old, I have 7 profiles) 3. Ultimate Battle, Demonstration Mini-Game in the OST 4. When the worlds are ordered by update, not by difficulty. 5. Snow Peas have no ability 6. Levels were never a thing 7. Grinding stars and unlocking new worlds was actually hard 8. The background actually looks like a piece of the world and not just floating in space 9. Arena was called Battlez
The earliest things I remember were the premium quests for gold bloom, electric boogaloo, and aloe, as well as waiting for the second half of neon mixtape tour
I remembered everything in the first version of this game! Such nostalgia and i remembered being SOOO excited to play the game when it was released worldwide
That stars thing is in Chinese version but you only have to play the level twice, first you play it in the normal mode to get 1 star and then you unlock the harder mode (zombies are higher level) that if you win you get the other 2 stars and a chest
Still remember in ValentineZ 2017, when extra levels were added into some maps, day 26-35 in Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas, Far Future, Wild West, Jurassic Marsh and Modern Day....
There were actually three “Rescue _____!” Epic quests. The three plants you could’ve gotten (I got them, which I’m quite glad for) were Gold Bloom, Electric Current, and Healing Aloe.
I missed it all, very nostalgic indeed. Thanks for making this video for veteran liker me and others too. I remember playing it on my Ipad with my mother. Now I play on my own, it is crazy and unfamiliar to the new plants introduced. I enjoyed the Far Future world but they had to make us play through Frostbite and Lost City. I remember when the Dark Age World was just introduced(they released it) and level 24 of Dark Ages, you will get the ghost pepper plant for free but now you don't get it for free.
I was an OG PvZ 2 player I had stopped playing the game when I got to Wild West and when I came back I forgot all about how I had acquired gold bloom this brought me back memories

Everything else, adventure world, pennys persuit, plant levels, the coins and gems are all kept with whatever they had recently played, most plants arent unlocked while my main profile has everything, except most of the premiums
So that could be a reason they removed it, I mean playing your main profile and getting rewards but the other profile doesnt get it but keeps the streak, so maybe they didnt think it through about how arena was going to work with multiple profiles, thats just me
I mean it would be cool for multiple accounts, you can do a run with no level up stuff, just old vanilla pvz2.
I loved the aloe epic quest, as it gave the only last stand level that free plants, such as iceburg lettuce, stallia, and puffshroom could be used
The gold bloom was so op, my dad use it aswell with the Imitator back when it was not needed real money to buy. Literally get a free 700 suns headstart for 2 slots
Fun fact: The mummy memory mingame of ancient Egypt is removed and is replaced with normal levels (Also demonstration minigame, ultimate battle, and brainiac maniac music is also removed)
Why
@@FicaHewet bc of EA :/
Yeah i remember that
@@Coolguy-cb3ko oh i tought bc AE dissliked it
The reason the memory minigame was removed was because it was deemed "too hard" for some players so that's why they removed it.
Pinch is actually a good power up, it could almost 1 hit any zombie infact, and the fact that its cost only 800 coins-
Pitching isn't really that hard, and it also has area damage meaning you could pitch multiple zombies.
It could be hard for the people that react slowly or with long fingernails though.
@@quynhyb It's not recommended for people who are slow, neither for people who can't pinch or for people with long finger nails. But it's not like you use you're finger nails to actually pinch.
Or you can spend 200 more for literally ol reliable and knock back gargs
*pinch
Seriously why is this comment section so full of broken English?
@@SnoFitzroy What’s broken English to you?
Fun Fact: If you play on Endless Zone's, sometimes it may be glitched, like you will be soft locked until you update the game
This happens on 2015 - 2016
*Zones
It's really not that hard to comprehend plurals
I remember when there was THAT ONE transparent invincible zombie I can't finish off on Big Bad Butte, even with plant food or power-ups
I remember power pinch and somehow I actually kinda liked it lol
Later they replaced it and I was kinda sad ngl but power snow and toss are much better
I also remember being so hyped for the game’s release because the trailer looked so cool and time travel is just a cool concept
I miss the old map designs and the gate levels. The world premiums could've been unlocked through gates
I agree. It's so cool how there were branching paths on the old maps and I think they look way better.
same
Same. Now the maps are just floating pieces of roads and stuff and the Worlds are just in the background. It feels a bit boring.
i loved the old maps so much nostalgia
What version is it?
@@mr.productions327 I dont actually remember, but I can say that there were no Jurassic marsh or modern day, no arena/Penny's pursuit, keys would unlock ANY world you want, not just the next one. There also were some levels in ancient Egypt where you had to find pairs of pictures, and many other things were different
So it’s got to be either 4.0 or 4.1 well that is if neon mixtape tour has all of its 32 levels or else it will be 3.9
@@mr.productions327 oh, ok, I'll tell you when I get home
I remember when Ancient Egypt - Days 7, 16, and 23 were Mummy Memory, and when the harder Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas, Wild West, Far Future, and Modern Day levels were part of the main completion
i still have the old versions and dang theres so many things the game change and remove like for example ancient egypt the mummy memory levels, or when the game actually gave you a tutorial on how to use the power-ups unlike now where they just tell you to use them. i also remember when after beating like level 8 or other gargantuar levels you would earn a world key to pick any world you would want. now your forced to go in order which i hate.
why you hate !?
A while ago the game just gave you access to every world after beating level 8. Also I would still just do the levels in order
I remember almost all of them! It was a better simpler time back then.
another OG detail, though doesn’t go as far back as the others: the plant changes.
What happened to jack o lantern tho when i played him today he activates by himself without me tapping him???
@@shawndablo7863 they changed jack-o-lantern so that it fires when a zombie gets in range, but it has a limited gas tank before it needs to recharge
@@SilverFoxeGames oh ok thanks but i kinda liked the old one tho because thats what makes him unique but a pain in the ass to handle lol
@@scarymeunster9095 Torchwood now has much more toughness and if a zombie start eating Torchwood does damage to it so Torchwood was buffed.
I almost forgot that existed. I missed that level-
No, it's still there. All of the old minigames are still present in the first three worlds, you'd have to be a smoothbrain to not be aware of this
@@SnoFitzroy I went through every minigame level in Egypt and have not found it. so it seems that your giving wrong information.
@@SnoFitzroy lol calling someone a smooth brain but your the one thats wrong
@@SnoFitzroyyou’re the one with the smooth-brain, because there are 0 Mummy Memory levels. They were COMPLETELY removed a long time ago!
i remember when some levels used remixes of brainiac maniac and ultimate battle for music. It was removed sometime in 2016-2018 for some reason
Xd
#8 I definitely remember this, I just bought every plants it sold in the store when they release even after no more new worlds, I am 100% sure there was no level back then, then I quitted for a while.
#9 I saw that on RUclips Videos, then I use it, it was eyes-opening when I was a teen
#10 yes, I definitely did the epic quest for Gold Bloom, kinda sad I missed some too.
Pls continue this series, I need those memory back!
I like that you designed the Golden Tiles as the number 10
thanks
I remember that when stars were removed from the game, pvz2 converted them into coins when you updated the game.
First one: That explains why I feel weird seeing so many plants, I never noticed that they changed the screen lol
Thank you man for taking me into a nostalgia trip, PvZ2 and 1 were my childhood games.
It's kinda a selfish move for them to just remove the Gold Bloom quest. Sure it's op, but damn it EA, can't you at least turned it into gemium plants?
Gemium wouldn’t be much better since you have to GRIND now to get it
@@mr.productions327 I rather grind than get poor
@@hoozartz6740 well I guess that is true
@@mr.productions327 For 100 gem it is really worth it.
I played pvz 2 for 8 years and only 2 things from this list i remember were no plant upgrades and epic quests for gold bloom aloe and electric curant
Also in older versions there was a bug that didn't displayed google play games button so i couldn't save my game and now i don't have gold bloom (this bug was fixed a few months ago)
1. I remember it because the let's play that introduced me to the game showed this in the first episode.
2. Never saw it in action, but I remember reading about it on the wiki. Thought it only worked on a single zombie. :/
3. Wow, having to finish a level *three times* seems a bit excessive. They could've just given you a star for each fullified objective.
4. _WHY WAS THAT A THING_
5. The old world selection map looks... decent. I think I prefer the new one though. ^^
6. Never played on the old map, but it looked really cool. :D The branching paths idea is pretty cool.
7. That's... also dumb. I can kinda understand the lack of Zomboss battles, but no Gargs? :(
8. Yeah, I definitely remember that. If you don't make unreasonably hard levels, there's no need for leveled-up plants, so they're really not needed.
9. *YES*
0:36 i won't forget this background
I still remember all of these 😢 the nostalgia is making me cry for my childhood
Something you missed was the keys to unlock worlds. Another thing was that modern day had more levels and had one boss like the other worlds
Also anyone remember when sap-fling came out?
the keys being removed would've made more sense if they did it in the plant level up update
yeah lol, when i made a new account and replayed everything i was like lol why do they give me key at the end of the world when i can just select it anyways , and yes i played in 2013/2014 when key actually had a purpose
@@drfries172 could've been a bug or something idk
The fact that i joined on 2017 and quit and joined back on 2022 made me feel nostalgic
I REMEMBER WHEN PVZ2 GAVE YOU ALL THE TIME KEYS
I REMEMBER COMPLETING THE GOLD BLOOM QUEST. I got so confused when I saw it being up for purchase to newer players
2:16 those old prices were a nightmare
3:54 not 2:16
I remember pvz2 just release, the map is like a puzzle type of map, and theres some doors lock and you need to beat a level with a key to unlock a certain area with a plant packet inside.
I remember doing the 3 epic quests (Gold Bloom, Electric Currant, Aloe), back then i thought those we're the hardest levels (i probobly had skill issue)
I miss the spring bean + blover combo... used it to clear endless waves of every map
I only remember the most number 4 and 10 and do you guys remember the world key? Yeah the key to open all maps in pvz2, that was really fun
I remember me and my cousins playing the old version together
Those memories 🥲
In my opinion, old pvz 2 was so much better than what we have now except for the micro transactions obviously.
I miss the old maps and now they're just a straight line to the finish.
EA made the worst decision since plants' level system, at present are just silly combos and levels...
your editing has gotten better!!!
It's kinda sad because they removed the ultimate and demonstration mini game
Rip 2013-2017
rest in pepperonis
never forgetti
I remember a time where if you beat a certain level we would get a key that could unlock ANY WORLD but it was one time use
Maybe everyone knew this:Back then, there is NO plants level and family, and the game became so hard, unlike now
I miss the old map it's way cooler imo.
I wish they would've kept the old map design. I loved those labyrinth(ish) style paths that went all over. Also the plant level up system was worst move made for PvZ2 ever...
I remember completing that gold bloom quest, but that was on my old tablet.. now I have to use real money to get it :(
i remember at first the gargantuar giving only 1 key that you could use on ANY world but then they changed to a key chaine wich let you unlock every world at once but now its after you deffeat zombozz that you get the key to the next set world instead of just a world you chose (sorry for my bad spelling)
remember when all the levels were unlocked on the start?
I remember when you straight up got 10 keys to unlock all the worlds
ahhh I remember all that. it would be cool to bring back the old epic quests...
A thing that I remember I don’t know if it’s that old, but there were levels past the zomboss level and they were levels that were really hard
Dang the old version Is more fun
no
@@zackcool878 Yes, it was more fun.
The pinch gives me so much nostalgia i used to think it was way better than the snowball one
Played the game the day it came out. Nostalgia kicked in remembering all of this.
I am a Plants vs zombies OG I remember everything I have been playing for 15 years and plants vs zombies 2 for 11 years from now. 😅
I remember playing when big wave beach hadn't released and I was so curious and watched videos of a random guy editing and saying the next world was "ice age" i really got hypnotized with his fire watermelon concept.
Pvz2 is actually the first game I downloaded in my new phone.
The best part about plants not having levels, was that zombies didn’t have either
This is just nostalgia man
Ah yes PvZ 2 was better without the upgade system for plants. And yes, I remembered that Gold Bloom quest!
I really missed having Gold bloom for free. It's so hard getting sun in later levels.
For the first one, you don’t need to remember, it’s an App Store pic
Remember the yeti hunt? When you would play like a "special event " and the yeti would come in some time of the level you gotta basically kill him before he walks out of the feild.
Here's one of my favourite fun facts:
Previously, Chili Beans could kill Pianist Zombies, as when they squashed the Chili Bean it counted as eating them (the Barrel Roller wasn't affected as the barrel is an inanimate object).
Thats why I had a gold bloom in this old acount...
You missed:
1. Mummy memory(bring so much memories back)
2. Create new profiles (my PvZ account is too old, I have 7 profiles)
3. Ultimate Battle, Demonstration Mini-Game in the OST
4. When the worlds are ordered by update, not by difficulty.
5. Snow Peas have no ability
6. Levels were never a thing
7. Grinding stars and unlocking new worlds was actually hard
8. The background actually looks like a piece of the world and not just floating in space
9. Arena was called Battlez
The earliest things I remember were the premium quests for gold bloom, electric boogaloo, and aloe, as well as waiting for the second half of neon mixtape tour
I actually beat that gold bloom epic quest, it was really hard
4:22 it's about time (no pun intended) that someone finally remembered greatness when it was at peak....
