I miss Zen garden where you plant just to plant, not for a boost to use in the game, simply a plant. You water it, apply fertiliser and apply pesticides. And different scenes, I remember each of them cost a fortune to unlock! Woah, and the Tree of Wisdom also. So nostalgic.
I'm not sure how many people plant for the boost unless they're still progressing through adventure or they're trying the harder penny's pursuit difficulties. What I miss is when you could put down a plant and get some money from it and the plant boost. Gave me a real reason to not keep planting until all I got were marigolds

Since puff and fume, hypno, sun and magnet shroom barley changed, and scaredy looks different compared to his older model. And if course he’s a plant you have to try and unlock through non normal means. Pretty sure sea shroom is next to return, since there are videos showing his unfinished state.

Some info about a few unused plants in this video: Mini Peashooter (from what I remember) is the same as a peashooter, but for its plant food, it covers the entire lawn (that isn’t already occupied) with clones of itself. Burnade has the same sprite as the Iceberg Lettuce, and might’ve been one of the most overpowered plants in the game if fully added. From what I remember, it explodes about 3 times, in a 3x3 area.
EVEN MORE INFO ABOUT THESE: Mini peashooter have chances So mini pea doesnt always take over the entire screen some times he just create 2,4 or even more And something interesing but hard to explain is his multiplication system Lets say you put 1 plantfood to peashooter and it makes another right? well if you put a plantfood in the new cloned peashooter it create 2 news And make the same Like X1, x2, x4, x8.. etc And it deals a mediocre amount of damage Burnade in the other hand It makes damage based on zombie health, so basically a garg is a teal bomb but reduced to 3x3
I believe that originally, they planned to have gravestones in all worlds, that's why the Grave Buster is always selectable in any world, even if that world has no gravestones on it, unless it's a Last Stand level.

i think the reason why is because of the empty lawns on the background, it would be real unsettling walking through those places with the unused music playing in the background, knowing that some zombie could come out of nowhere and just eat your brains.
there's also an unused theme meant for Pirate Seas composed by the original PVZ composer Laura and the plant "Beet" from PVZ Adventures was meant to return same with the Adventures version of Bamboo shot (tho functionally it's just an early Banana Launcher)
Burnade actually uses iceburg lettuces sprites. Heres the stats (levels do nothing to unused plants) BURNADE Sun Cost: 0 Recharge: Sluggish Ability: Sends a zombie back to the beginning of the lawn, and shortly explodes doing the same damage as the zombie it killed. Plant food: Allows burnade to use his ability 3 times before dissapearing. MINIPEASHOOTER Sun Cost: 25 Recharge: Fast Ability: Shoots peas, they take 25 shots to kill a basic zombie. (Normal peas take 10) Plant Food: Duplicates more minipeashooters in its own lane, or, if space is availible, the entire lawn?? (Its inconsistant) They are both usable using hacks. Ill post a vid soon.
The Mini Peashooter has two main differences from a regular Peashooter. 1. It's weaker and costs less and 2. It's power up is to clone itself one tie ahead
Update: -The dark veterans where added to the game, but only their sprites, they werent added to any official level if im not wrong -they added textures for iceage Fossil head, but not propertiers, strangely, he has the required animations to play just fine
i dont exactly remember where, but i remember hearing that the reason DA is so empty compared to the other worlds is that a lot of the team at popcap left mid development
I would have liked Scaredy Shroom since he is my second favorite plant while Ice Shroom is my favorite. Although the future music was cool too and has a lot of the final sound affects. Pretty cool.

That event is on right now, go to the adventure mode and you should see an all star zombie icon next to the travel log icon. That's where all thymed events are.
There's also an unused version of Pirate Seas shown in one of the Crazy Dave Transmission videos that released before the game came out. Laura Shigihara released the track on her RUclips channel 2-3 years ago

if i had to guess i would assume that a good theory for why scaredy shroom wasnt added in pvz 2 is because in dark ages sun production is easier than pvz 1 night levels and since the jester zombie exists it would make no since to added scaredy shroom especially when the dark ages chapter was only 20 levels and there where alot of other useable plants such as peashooter and cabbage pult and repeater and laser bean and bloomerang just to name a few and also we are forgetting that puff shroom and laser bean and non projectile plants where required in dark ages because of the jester zombie and theres also the wizard zombie which is just a weaker version of the #1 Voted Most Annoying Zombie and also dark ages as a whole is just a weird chapter in terms of balance since the chapter is actually easy with the right setup and since the jester zombie can force players the alter there entire setup all just because of him and puff shroom and laser bean are good in this the scaredy shroom wouldnt have any where to be in, in terms of balance and in other levels the scaredy shroom would just be a cheaper and weaker peashooter and this is assuming that the scaredy shroom is cheaper and that it still has the hiding mechanic and since the scaredy shroom doesnt make sense for dark ages and plants vs zombies 2 meta and balance then i think that the scaredy shroom would not be that good and since most pvz 2 players dont even use peashooters anymore now since the game now has a level up system for plants and theres alot of premium plants and plants unlockable via and during arena tournament seasons but around the time dark ages was released there where already the far future and wild west and pirate seas and ancient Egypt there where already alot of good plants also the Chinese version of pvz2 dark ages had a jousting zombie that had a horse and it was a knight zombie on a horse that worked like the zombie bull or rodeo legend zombie except that the jousting zombie would launch it self all the way to the end of your lawn right next to your lawnmower and it was a knight zombie and the zombie would leave its sword in the ground where ever the horse launched him at and the sword would act like the same way that the surf board dropped by the surfer zombie in big wave beach does and this would mean that there would be a knight zombie right next to lawnmower or end of lawn (if they used there lawnmower) and a horse zombie and a sword stuck in the ground all for the player to deal with meaning that if it where in the game and it was also in the games Chinese version then it would be very weak of a plant Also Another Thing, The Scaredy Shroom Appeared In Plants VS Zombies All Stars which was also a Chinese Exclusive plants vs zombies game scaredy shroom also appears in plants vs zombies adventures and garden warfare 1 and garden warfare 2 and battle for NeighbourVille i think

i think the reason why is because of the empty lawns on the background, it would be real unsettling walking through those places with the unused music playing in the background, knowing that some zombie could come out of nowhere and just eat your brains.
there's also an unused theme meant for Pirate Seas composed by the original PVZ composer Laura
and the plant "Beet" from PVZ Adventures was meant to return same with the Adventures version of Bamboo shot (tho functionally it's just an early Banana Launcher)

Burnade actually uses iceburg lettuces sprites. Heres the stats (levels do nothing to unused plants)
BURNADE
Sun Cost: 0
Recharge: Sluggish
Ability: Sends a zombie back to the beginning of the lawn, and shortly explodes doing the same damage as the zombie it killed.
Plant food: Allows burnade to use his ability 3 times before dissapearing.
MINIPEASHOOTER
Sun Cost: 25
Recharge: Fast
Ability: Shoots peas, they take 25 shots to kill a basic zombie. (Normal peas take 10)
Plant Food: Duplicates more minipeashooters in its own lane, or, if space is availible, the entire lawn?? (Its inconsistant)

The Mini Peashooter has two main differences from a regular Peashooter. 1. It's weaker and costs less and 2. It's power up is to clone itself one tie ahead

-The dark veterans where added to the game, but only their sprites, they werent added to any official level if im not wrong
-they added textures for iceage Fossil head, but not propertiers, strangely, he has the required animations to play just fine
I like how pvz2 reflourished used some of the unused zombies for the game and added extension levels for all the worlds
Power Lily has a hidden plant food ability and Imitater has a zen garden animation
using plant food on a plant that gives plant food is a bit counter productive don’t you think

I noticed that the scrapped BFN iceberg lettuce uses the Chinesse exclusive ice chain plant's design instead of the actual iceberg lettuce
I would have liked Scaredy Shroom since he is my second favorite plant while Ice Shroom is my favorite. Although the future music was cool too and has a lot of the final sound affects. Pretty cool.

Hey your videos are really great btw! You seem like one the game pros so I have a question, I saw there was some upcoming sports themed Lawnbowl something event going to happen in the game and what happened to it, is that also unused now?
That event is on right now, go to the adventure mode and you should see an all star zombie icon next to the travel log icon. That's where all thymed events are.
The event is in the game for some users, it is just a bug for some people not getting access to the events
Also I don't have access to the lawn bowl and backyard big top events and missed out on it
There's also an unused version of Pirate Seas shown in one of the Crazy Dave Transmission videos that released before the game came out. Laura Shigihara released the track on her RUclips channel 2-3 years ago

or he will shoot faster the closer the zombie is (×1.5 in 5 tiles) (×2 in 3 tiles) (×2.5 in 2 tiles), like he's panicking or something like that. He will cost 175 sun and will boing the zombie if the zombie reached him (only 1 time).

if i had to guess i would assume that a good theory for why scaredy shroom wasnt added in pvz 2 is because in dark ages sun production is easier than pvz 1 night levels and since the jester zombie exists it would make no since to added scaredy shroom especially when the dark ages chapter was only 20 levels and there where alot of other useable plants such as peashooter and cabbage pult and repeater and laser bean and bloomerang just to name a few and also we are forgetting that puff shroom and laser bean and non projectile plants where required in dark ages because of the jester zombie and theres also the wizard zombie which is just a weaker version of the #1 Voted Most Annoying Zombie and also dark ages as a whole is just a weird chapter in terms of balance since the chapter is actually easy with the right setup and since the jester zombie can force players the alter there entire setup all just because of him and puff shroom and laser bean are good in this the scaredy shroom wouldnt have any where to be in, in terms of balance and in other levels the scaredy shroom would just be a cheaper and weaker peashooter and this is assuming that the scaredy shroom is cheaper and that it still has the hiding mechanic and since the scaredy shroom doesnt make sense for dark ages and plants vs zombies 2 meta and balance then i think that the scaredy shroom would not be that good and since most pvz 2 players dont even use peashooters anymore now since the game now has a level up system for plants and theres alot of premium plants and plants unlockable via and during arena tournament seasons but around the time dark ages was released there where already the far future and wild west and pirate seas and ancient Egypt there where already alot of good plants
also the Chinese version of pvz2 dark ages had a jousting zombie that had a horse and it was a knight zombie on a horse that worked like the zombie bull or rodeo legend zombie except that the jousting zombie would launch it self all the way to the end of your lawn right next to your lawnmower and it was a knight zombie and the zombie would leave its sword in the ground where ever the horse launched him at and the sword would act like the same way that the surf board dropped by the surfer zombie in big wave beach does and this would mean that there would be a knight zombie right next to lawnmower or end of lawn (if they used there lawnmower) and a horse zombie and a sword stuck in the ground all for the player to deal with meaning that if it where in the game and it was also in the games Chinese version then it would be very weak of a plant
