What about how much his forefathers paid and fought for to give him a good life? I'm sorry but there are rewards in life if you do the right things the narrative is to completely do away with that
They kicked me and my family, including an 87 year old lady, out of our home in lisbon because the government changed the laws in order to make it easier to sell real estate to foreigners. The real estate prices in my home city are obscene, none of us can afford this. Add to that this absurd level of unmitigated immigration, my city, the place where I was born and raised isn't the same anymore. Garbage, grafitti, and crime everywhere is kebab shops. I despise it.
Wow ,I thought it was just us here in England but it seems like it’s all Europe ,I wonder when the people will rise up and throw the elites out.If you don’t have borders, you don’t really have a home.
Who did you vote for? If you voted for the politicians that did this, then... And if the people of Portugal are actually upset about all of this, then why not stand up to the govt about it? Loosely translated, if the Portuguese people vote leaders in that do this and then remain silent when your cities are destroyed, then the silence of the people makes them complicit.
Exactly! It's a combination of different but very destructive policies that are putting pressure on cities and lowering the standard of living for Portuguese people (in this particular case) and most Europeans. This is happening despite us paying very high taxes. The worst part is that these issues could easily be avoided, but our politicians have proven they do not have our best interests at heart.
The fact that you showed all those downsides, whether it's the graffiti or the drugs, and say it's the nicest capital in Europe tells us everything about where Europe is headed.
The migrant enrichment from Africa and the Middle East continues and other countries of Europe and the EU doesn’t do anything to stop this mass invasion from Africa and the Middle East. What is the agenda????????
Stop telling us you don't know what has happened to these businesses. For God's sake, ask the people you are walking past. The old former teacher called them tourists they were never tourists they were immigrants/refugees. Immigrants bring their culture with them a point politicians don't want to understand.
Married to a Portuguese, living in the UK. Portugal is my second home, and Lisboa my favourite city with so much to offer. It was always so beautiful to sightsee, without any thoughts of being afraid., and the cuisine is so amazing. This truly breaks my heart. All our cities and towns are being destroyed. It makes me want to weep. 😢 Is this an organised agenda!
Not only Lisbon, unfortunatelly Brussels, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome, all capitals of Europe have the same problem, due to the unnamed european politicies and politicians. It is our duty, as europeans , to revert all this s...t !
Someone from Berlin here, used to be exciting, full of promise and even safe in the 1990s, quickly deteriorated after 2000 and now is a complete hellhole. I moved to the countryside and never go into the city unless I am forced to. If we could rebuild the wall, this time around all of Berlin I would be for it :)
@@zellhaufen8583 I completely understand you. Not too long ago, Portugal was the third safest country in the world, we were so proud of it. Now... you know, everyone knows.

I don't recognize it anymore, I don't enjoy it frankly, and allot of the country is in similar state. We are quickly losing our identity, our culture, our language, our houses, our rights, our security...everything. Absolutely devastated to see my country in the state it is nowadays.

Well, that homeless guy you talked with, is Fredo Mergner, once a great jazz guitar player that came to Lisbon from Hungary, back in the 80's. He was also a language teacher. And he was, still is, a charming nice guy, whom I was lucky to know back in the days at the lisbon jazz spot Hot Club. Unfortunately he was a victim of heavy drugs and lost it all. I thought he was gone by now. Poor Fredo. How wonderfully he played.
Thank you Neil. For helping that older gentleman. There are so many seniors out there suffering now. It's a pathetic system that would let this happen to people that have contributed to society all their working lives.. Much respect for you
I am German and the homeless man definitely had a german accent. Made me very sad...... Oh and by the way.....wonderful Germany is being totally destroyed by illegal immigration. The Germans are paying for 2.5 MILLION illegal immigrants now.....official data. Giving them housing and food and social security etc. That is on top of the now many GERMAN and older people that are in need of help. The Great Reset is working out great for the criminals. It has become extremely unsafe now. What a shame. Europe is being destroyed. We have to stop this.
My heart is breaking right now. I was born in Lisbon 62 yrs ago. My family came to Canada when I was a baby , but we went back every other year for 2 months. My family is from Monte Estoril, not far from Lisbon. I do not believe my eyes, to what this once great city has become. There was NEVER any graffiti or garbage strewn about:( My daughter moved to Lisbon 2 yrs ago and is living there, cannot see what she sees in it to be honest. I know things change, but the city has gone really down hill. I hope they manage to bring it back to what it once was. We always had some immigration from Mozambique especially , but never to this extent. I wish I knew what caused this decay and downward trend. Shame, such a shame. I have no yen to visit.
@136760mas1 That's what you get for joining America's wars through NATO. As an American, I saw this coming after the invasion of Afghanistan. But that's not enough, the EU supports Biden in getting a nuclear war started with Russia. You, EU, need to point the finger at yourself for having no spine.
Neil.., the time for tourism is done. Find your homestead, dig in, make inroads amongst your community, buy a local business… insure your pantry is stocked. Don’t be caught off guard in another country. Times are getting very dangerous… and the safety window is closing.
This is what Stefan Verstappen is encouraging and teaching people to over in Canada, where they have the same issues going on. A stranger came onto one of his live streams recently and told his story on how he was almost murdered on public transport during the afternoon (lost 9 litres of blood). He has to delete most of his streams due to RUclips targetting him, because he names the enemy of humanity on a regular basis.

As an American with part Portugese ancestry ... this is heartbreaking. Who do we have to thank for this state of affairs? The Davos crowd? The EU? WEF?
The problem is there are very few Portuguese still in Libson. Immigrants have flooded the city and as a result it has become an undesirable place to be. Even Porto has become the same.
We let our elders in the streets and our governments import and finance migrants at the cost of our own labor. What kind of disrespect is that for our own roots :(
I was not aware of the term "cultural enrichment." I suppose the human fertilizer is the enrichment to which they refer? lol Europe was already incredibly rich in culture when I first traveled to Spain in 1972 and when I last was in Europe in 2003. Why in the world would Europeans think that their countries were deficient in the one thing they all displayed in abundance? To an American, Europe was a paradise. Returning home was always shocking as the rampant ugliness, commercialism, & fakery bore down upon me... it tooks weeks to readjust to the hideousness.
I was in Lisbon about twelve years ago and it looked beautiful, I guess the whole world has changed with the exception of places like Hungary and Poland, I wonder why?
You didn't have to go to Portugal to find towns with no shops left, you just need to come to Wellington in Shropshire. All we have left are Charity Shops and cafes
That's why the WEF, Fauci and Bill Gates started the Plandemic to get rid of small businesses and reduce us all to factory/office workers. Their SARS plan failed 20 years ago and we all know what Bush and Blair were guilty of!
You are bang on .! South Africa was the testing ground for the scheme of The global elites/ illuminati /WEF, then Europe , Canada, USA, and Tomorrow the. World. Or The New World Order……All Satanic.!
What does south Africanisation mean? I am in Africa by the way...South Africa to be exact and even I shocked that the city officials over there let things look like this...Do they not have law enforcement? 🤔
Lisbon is becoming a 2 class society. The ones who can afford the crazy high rent and expensive condos and the homeless. The graffiti for me is always a red flag, I find it correlates with the level of incompetence of the people who run the city.
Didn't the Mayor of New York enact a law that cleaned the city up? I think it was called "the broken window" policy. Broken windows indicated neglect which attracted crime. Flooded the place with cops. Small demeanors were punished and eventually the place was reconstructed and cleaned up which in turn attracted people back in to spend money. Of course that was America where somtimes a short acting "local and benign dictatorship" can do wonders. Unfortunately Europe has had a bad time in the last century and is allergic to dictators, even benign ones. So nothing will get done.
The buildings themselves are covered in grime and look neglected similar to the old buildings in Cuba - abandonment will follow. The EU and the UN are doing this degradation on purpose to bring in their cultural Marxist Communist utopia, "You will own nothing and be happy". I don't think people will be going along with that much longer and karma is coming for these organisations.
As an American who traveled to the European side of Russia, things are quite different... as in better than the EU Europe. So stop saying Europe and say EU. That was the failure. I'm lucky I'm old enough to have seen a Europe without an EU, and it was beautiful.
I am just amazed how a friend of mine who is so pro-EU and all the madness with it is totally blind when it comes to the shitty state of western society. Europe is dead
yep they all are, these people love the degenerating status quo, they have neither the vision to imagine a better future or experience to remember a better past.
To simplify it very, very much. -Not enough living space is being built. -Housing and rental prices go up through the years to the point where they become barely affordable. -Refugees start showing up and get housing through governmental help (place to live + money to rent) thus reducing the available housing even further. The shops are equally affected because the rental prices hit them just as hard.
Europeans have voted for this over the years. This is what you get when you vote for left wing politicians. Western Europeans can’t seem to bring themselves to vote for politicians who actually would introduce policies that would do something about this.
In Germoney, for example , the only party who is opponent to this development is framed as " far right " , right wing extremists...and so on...the majority of people are so mainstream media brainswashed and uninformed , that they accept their destiny and think , it has to be like this because of their former guilt , Putin , the climate , the wars in the world....
First of all, I would like to thank this English couple for this very illuminating video of the state of degradation that many areas of Lisbon have reached. Even areas of the historic center so often visited by me where there were shops and warehouses buzzing with activity, are now closed doors and gates or shop windows all covered with paper with graffiti scraps that follow each other in an endless Indian line. It's like seeing areas of accumulation of rubbish and the remains of homeless people spread across the city, denigrating the image of old Lisbon so well portrayed in Portuguese fado. It's seeing non-Portuguese people wandering around aimlessly because they don't fit in anywhere because they simply aren't working anywhere! This is the «wonderful» legacy of António Costa with the contraption first, then with the absolute majority and now everything continues the same with his little twin brother PSD. These rulers are ruining the country without caring about the people's voice for anything. Their position in relation to the immigration referendum clearly shows their aversion to democracy even though they fill their mouths with this word! - The left is not democratic, it is totalitarian and has inverted values! They adopted a single narrative to screw those who don't think like them. They collude with governments regarding uncontrolled immigration and hiding the identity of criminals, but if they are Portuguese they are the first to reveal it! Whoever dominates language dominates thought, whoever dominates thought dominates action and whoever dominates action dominates the world! This top-down imposition of mandatory mass immigration is destroying the cohesion and identity of countries in Europe and the Western world, but it is part of the 2030 agenda of the UN, EC and WHO, with a view to a global umbrella government as was announced at the UN WEF at the beginning of September this year. This is all premeditated!
Yep. Thing is, why are they doing this? What is the end goal im still not sure? Digital ID? What will anyone gain from this chaos and destruction and infiltration other than war/civil war??
@@Samuca1300 And look who’s in the leadership of UN…autocratic regime leaders, left leaning cowards who fear their own populations, anti Western villains, oppressors of their own populations. No clear corrections in flight. No solutions just outrage.
The exactly same thing it's happening in Spain and all over Europe, that's the agenda 2030 and WEF. We ,citizens of Europe ,should stand up against all the government puppets ,get rid of all of them and start fresh all over. Remember only the people save the people, not the corrupt governments. Sending you lots of love and strength to fight back❤❤❤❤
I have seen this before. It is a behaviour designed to degrade the environment to the point where it becomes a no go zone. If it is not cleaned up, the people who can relocate will relocate, the business leaves, and the spiral downward continues...
@CloudSeedz Apologies, I realise I sound like a toddler, Why is that... Why... Why... 🤣 But...... Why? What do 'they' gain from white flight? Black cities... What do they gain from black cities... What's the objective..?
Here in Kettering it's strange to see many foreign shops, crappy little tat shops, barber shops. You have to wonder how they can stay in business. Oh yeah money laundering.
Portugal is often viewed as a refuge from the Orwellian UK, but it comes with significant challenges. Property prices in cities and the Algarve are prohibitively high, while rural areas, though more affordable, are still underdeveloped compared to Spain. Strict rules on land use and planning permissions frequently catch buyers off guard. Many find they cannot build on purchased land and are forced to buy another property nearby if they wish to work the land, creating financial strain. The Euro’s one size fits all approach continues to create economic disparity, locking vastly different nations into an unsustainable system. While Portugal offers some appeal, its structural and regulatory flaws make it less of a sanctuary than it appears. It also seems to be suffering from the same issues plaguing the western "free world". The diversity has found its way to Lisbon and alongside Socialist policies is destroying the place.
Major rip offs regarding real estate in Portugal . Worst construction in Europe , worse than in the ex Soviet Union; in the Algarve they use sea sand in construction
True diversity of cultures does have a positive effect, I agree, but the type of culture which are coming in and the amount of them from my perspective gives a very negative result. It’s like salt on a meal, too much of it at some point turns counterproductive.
@@MichelBisson7074 No, it does not. A diversity of _local_ culture is one thing, a diversity of a spectrum of the 3rd world imports will *always* be detrimental to developed societies.

As a lisboeta I can say the following: First: those people in "baixa" are not selling real drugs. It's a tourism scam and that's why no police goes after them. They only went after you because of the filming. Second: you did not venture into any dangerous place as far as I could see, the corner you crossed and came down again (near the Palace of Independence) actually goes into a very nice area called Colina de Santana where Amália was born and Camões lived. Third: we have always had a graffiti problem since the eighties - and yes it's a real shame and our culture seems not to have changed that much -. Fourth: the construction is because of a new drainage system to prevent flooding in winter time . Fifth: we currently have the worst Mayor since the last thirty years and there is a major problem with garbage collection. Sixth: due to the lease law of 2012, most historical/old shops are closed due to high rents. Hope this helps. Cheers.
Been here in early 2000s and this city is a so much better now than it used to be. This video focuses on negatives (which were there for many years, they did not appear in the last few years as the authors claim), and ignores huge positives available in Lisbon and in this country. Not sure what interest authors are pursuing but it is clearly biased - don’t believe the tone and bias of this video, these guys are trying to bs us pursuing whatever interests they have.

@@rafaelrico9418 Yeah, it's really bad in Rome and Athens, and it breaks my heart.
Didn't the Mayor of New York enact a law that cleaned the city up? I think it was called "the broken window" policy. Broken windows indicated neglect which attracted crime.
Totally wrong, before buying check what you can do, there are the same rules for everyone. The government of the city and country is right-wing
Major rip offs regarding real estate in Portugal . Worst construction in Europe , worse than in the ex Soviet Union; in the Algarve they use sea sand in construction
Very refreshing attitude and I love the way you appreciate the archiecture!
It never ceases to amaze me when people don't recognize cultural enhancement when it smacks them in the face.
True diversity of cultures does have a positive effect, I agree, but the type of culture which are coming in and the amount of them from my perspective gives a very negative result. It’s like salt on a meal, too much of it at some point turns counterproductive.
The Champaign Socialists and Greenies wont ever see it from their ivory towers.
@@MichelBisson7074
No, it does not. A diversity of _local_ culture is one thing, a diversity of a spectrum of the 3rd world imports will *always* be detrimental to developed societies.
Heartbreaking what the WEF and EU have done to Europe, the UK and America,,it s madening, gos bless neil from Scotland
Wait until they start on Scotland it has remained relatively untouched so far.. don't let them turn it into England
@BobCarolgees-p8f Yeah I know ,just now in Glasgow every new build house is going to you know who ,our churches are turning into mosques, spot the Scot
so UK had left the EU a long time ago.... and ? any better?
Europe has done it to itself
But they’re smarter than you right? 🫤
The population of Africa is predicted to double in the next 30 years. The fun is just beginning.

Amazing to see how people who live in Lisbon just walk around ignoring all the shit going on.
Glad I live in a small mountain village.
They prefer cities where they can rob or beg…instead of working hard😢
Most people live in a dream world
Fear is key and self censorship via embarrassment or money taken away drives it all and we all know who pays for it all, those who have large noses yet small hats.

Well, you can but it would make you a naive fool 🤣

Thank you for helping Will. He’s very dignified but unfortunately at the mercy of his situation.
went in the 90s it was amazing. do not think ill return. There are Defibrillators everywhere now here in the UK. its because of all the heart attacks since the safe and effective.
Which has caused it all.
It still is amazing... but the amazing bits are now fewer and smaller.
Cheers.
Thank you! 🙏
Um belo resumo, exato.

Basically diversity is not a problem.
Got it 👍
First - You are obviously biased
tenth - you’re still biased
Been here in early 2000s and this city is a so much better now than it used to be. This video focuses on negatives (which were there for many years, they did not appear in the last few years as the authors claim), and ignores huge positives available in Lisbon and in this country. Not sure what interest authors are pursuing but it is clearly biased - don’t believe the tone and bias of this video, these guys are trying to bs us pursuing whatever interests they have.
The lack of diversity in the nicer areas is quite telling, eh?
Well, it's true when they say better to be rich than poor. the rich people of Lisbon didn't ask for illegals so why should they get them if they can help it..!

Another fallen EMPIRE
Not blighted. Big Portuguese companies are in Africa. If Portugal wants to be free its companies must cut ties with Africa and get their companies out of Africa.
