Portugal is often viewed as a refuge from the Orwellian UK, but it comes with significant challenges. Property prices in cities and the Algarve are prohibitively high, while rural areas, though more affordable, are still underdeveloped compared to Spain. Strict rules on land use and planning permissions frequently catch buyers off guard. Many find they cannot build on purchased land and are forced to buy another property nearby if they wish to work the land, creating financial strain. The Euro’s one size fits all approach continues to create economic disparity, locking vastly different nations into an unsustainable system. While Portugal offers some appeal, its structural and regulatory flaws make it less of a sanctuary than it appears. It also seems to be suffering from the same issues plaguing the western "free world". The diversity has found its way to Lisbon and alongside Socialist policies is destroying the place.

went in the 90s it was amazing. do not think ill return. There are Defibrillators everywhere now here in the UK. its because of all the heart attacks since the safe and effective.
Years ago I had quite the experience in Portugal. My young daughter slipped on wet tiles and we were concerned that she had a head injury. We took her to the hospital and they sent us to a hospital in Lisbon. I can't remember the name of the hospital, all I can say is that it was our worst nightmare. It was a big ward and all the beds were occupied. Our daughter needed to use the restroom. It was a big room with no doors, urine soaked cardboard on the floor, and the only toilet in the room was covered in poop. I mean COVERED! It was beyond disgusting. We asked instead if they would give us a bedpan for our child. When the bedpan arrived, it too was covered in poop. All we could do was to cover it completely in layers of baby wipes, so that she could use it without having to touch it anywhere. That hospital was the most disgusting hell hole I have ever seen in my life. The ward doors were locked and homeless people were all gathered on the other side of the door, and were banging and shaking the door to get in. It was a terrifying experience. Nobody came to check on our child, so we said we wanted to leave. They were so reluctant to let us out of there. Hours passed, still wouldn't let us leave. Finally we were able to convince a staff member to let us get the hell out of that place. We checked out and booked ourselves in to a five star hotel. Thankfully, our daughter had no injury and was her usual self after a day or two.
What a nightmare! I was at the main Lisbon train station a few weeks ago, and the toilets were disgusting. The stench of urine so bad that I gagged as I opened the door. I could not go in. The only other one had only one toilet working, but still dirty and no toilet paper. The escalators did not work, and the whole design left me not wanting to come back. Not as bad as a filthy hospital, but the two together leaves one thinking of major corruption because where are people’s taxes going? Not on their own city and services.
Thank you for the tour! We were there 4 years ago and it was wonderful. Unforntunately the cities are where the real trouble will start when the recession/depression hits.
What! They have nothing and they aren't happy? Klaus said they would! Haven't forgotten what was carved into some stones in Georgia! Their mission statement.
It's still your best option for a capital in Western Europe. It's not perfect, but it is quite delightful. It is certainly a lot safer than cities in the USA. (Your should also go visit Porto/Gaia.)
Why are people just complying ? I just can't go on commenting as I wish because YT blocks me in writing what I want? I am so surprised you are still on this channel?
I see this in videos from San Francisco and LA and Seattle. I saw this in person in Canada, my country, 25 years ago. Where I live and have for over 25 years we have none of this filth and degradation. There’s no graffiti, filth in the streets, homeless encampments, people trying to rob you or sell you drugs. You can literally go out at night anywhere and not feel your safey threatened. I live in the city and have gone out to a nearby park at 10 PM and people are out walking their dogs. That’s all. The more I see of these European and North American countries the less I want to go out anywhere and I lived in and traveled often to Europe in the 1990’s. And people are allowing this to happen. One thing I noticed going back to Canada in 1998 and after was the amount of apathy. Residents either didn’t care or were afraid to say anything. I won’t say where I am as I don’t want these people coming here. Western culture and society has been decaying ever since the 1950’s and is evident everywhere now.
Trudeau allowed 6 million legal and illegal immigrants into Canada 2023-2024. There are encampments in every major Canadian city. Downtown Vancouver is a cesspool of homelessness, human suffering, and drugs. Trudeau continues to destroy Canada and facilitates the invasion of immigrants into the country. Once mass deportation starts in the U.S. you can be sure many will escape to Canada, adding to the already destruction of medical, benefit programs, housing, education, economy, and infrastructure of the country. It's criminal what Trudeau has done to Canada.
There seems to be a pattern in all these major Western cities... Something all these formerly safe and beautiful but now dangerous places have in common... If I could just put my finger on what it is...!
You cannot blame the immigrants. They are leaving the hell holes where they were born: Places that were and continue to be effed over by the West, especially the terrorist empires of the USA and France.
This is a bummer. I was hoping to visit Lisbon soon. I had seen a number of travel videos and was looking fwd to it What is wrong.. Portugal, Spain, France, UK, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany......its like this in the cities and government just let's it happen ! It looks pretty deliberate to me. Tough policing, expulsions, incarceration is perfectly possible and that would deter much of this.
I live in Amsterdam and every day I realize how blessed I am to live at such a beautiful place on earth! And certainly the most magical location in Amsterdam; next to the Olympic Stadium. 3 minutes walk from a river. Beautiful boat houses there. Wonderful park. 10 minutes on bike to Museum square. 12 minutes bike to the forest.
I've been to Lisbon 3 times Neil but it was definetly changed the last time I went which was last summer. Unfortunatly thats the same for most major cities in Europe at the minute.
He's made a right hash of his well heeled origins hasn't he. Curious you show no sympathy for other poor people in the video who came from less privileged households.
Thanks for sharing the reality of the de-industrealization and societal regression and loss of self respect, colleges dumbing down their students . The architecture in Lisbon is striking and appealing .
I have seen this before. It is a behaviour designed to degrade the environment to the point where it becomes a no go zone. If it is not cleaned up, the people who can relocate will relocate, the business leaves, and the spiral downward continues...
Very odd with the all the street sellers in Lisbon. Selling on the streets without a license used to be forbidden and the minute you set up your stall the cops would come and serve you a hefty fine and take everything. Getting a license was a bureaucratic nightmare and nearly impossible, How things have changed!
Will came off so well. I was shocked when he said he was homeless. Same happening here in the US with the skyrocketing cost of housing. All the good people are slipping through the cracks. Where and how does this end?
I live in algarve, Portugal and first visited Lisbon in 2003. It was lovely, clean and mostly safe, although someone behind us one day did have their handbag snatched in a tourist area. But the rest of the visit was really wonderful. Next time I visited properly was about 3 years ago I spent a whole day walking about on my own in some of the areas you visited making my way to a flea market and I had no problem at all. I went up lots of small side streets. No grafitti and no empty shops. Maybe the cost of renting these shops has become too high for people to make a living. Or maybe there's just not enough money around for people to buy the extra things they want to buy as their monthly budget goes on high rents, high food costs etc. This is a massive problem in the western world where politicians do not seem to be interested in the wishes or the well-being of the people they govern. It's so sad to see all the grafitti on some of the beautiful architecture.
I know the world since 1941, when I was born and started travelling outside my home country Germany in 1956. I can really see it now what comes true, the agenda 2030 the WEF predicted: "You will own nothing, but you will be happy!" This is the beginning. I am glad I left Europe in 1987.
Home in Norway and just finished chopping wood for another month ( wedge and sledgehammer is excercise for a stubborn woman ) -4 C here and will be rain tomorrow... Ice everywhere then. Lisbon looks nice in spite of burglars, drugs and graffiti. Never understood why ppl do that to themselves.

Jeez !
What a nightmare..filth..poor girl
sounds like 30 years ago in Cairo.
In America u don’t even have free hospitals, at least u had a hospital for free
Another city being ruined, blame the bought and paid politicians 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for the tour! We were there 4 years ago and it was wonderful. Unforntunately the cities are where the real trouble will start when the recession/depression hits.
when it hits lol i'd say its aready there
It never ceases to amaze me when people don't recognize cultural enhancement when it smacks them in the face.
Thank you for helping Will. He’s very dignified but unfortunately at the mercy of his situation.
What! They have nothing and they aren't happy? Klaus said they would! Haven't forgotten what was carved into some stones in Georgia! Their mission statement.
That is so unfortunate. I was in Lisbon in 1993 it was so beautiful.
Lisbon off my list of places to visit .
Good luck to find another European city that has a different reality. It’s all over Europe!!!
It's still your best option for a capital in Western Europe. It's not perfect, but it is quite delightful. It is certainly a lot safer than cities in the USA. (Your should also go visit Porto/Gaia.)
@@derikuk2967 visit the airport and leave.
The West is gone now
True. But hang in there.
I lived in Lisbon 10 year ago it was such a lovely place. Seeing it now looks terrible
Why are people just complying ? I just can't go on commenting as I wish because YT blocks me in writing what I want? I am so surprised you are still on this channel?
They have imported too many third-world individuals and one is too many.
Why are you
No shops as the new "Portugese" have no money and the locals don't go there anymore as it is dangerous and smelly.
I have been complaing about graffitis for years they need to criminalize who make it, and clean.
LIBERALISM
The lack of diversity in the nicer areas is quite telling, eh?
Build back better. Indebted to BlackRock. Etc.
I was there in 1995, it was absolutely beautiful. Fond memories
Wow what a shocking revelation. I can see that Lisbon used to be a beautiful city. I try to avoid cities when I travel. So sad😢
How sad. Stay safe out there.
Go visit Budapest, really beautiful.
I’m heading there in September. Loved Lisbon, but it didn’t look like this 3 years ago? Maybe just the area being filmed??
- or Warsaw or any other Polish city.
Western Europe is in total decline due to the policies of the EU. Eastern Europe is still beautiful and safe. ❤
Diversity enrichment.
You cannot blame the immigrants. They are leaving the hell holes where they were born: Places that were and continue to be effed over by the West, especially the terrorist empires of the USA and France.
Economies must collapse in order to bring in CBDCs. Getting closer...
Diversity allows you to share global cultures 😆😆☠️
A wonderful cultural experience. The man who wanted your phone was to call his mother and spread his love throughout the world.
This is a bummer. I was hoping to visit Lisbon soon.
I had seen a number of travel videos and was looking fwd to it
What is wrong..
@@Dutch_Gonneke Boring city.
It's a beautiful city, many attractions. In this video they are wandering around in the wrong places.
I can still tell it's a beautiful city. It makes me sad that I never saw it at its finest
Lisbon was sooo beautiful before
Such a nice gesture to help gentleman Will out with accommodation. Sad to see the decline of Lisbon.
All courtesy of the Ashkenazi mafia.
Glad someone gets it.
👏🏆
Diversity Macht Frei goyim
$halom.
Thats what WEF is. Klaus Schwab a dual citizen.
A good, honest tour. Thank you guys for giving us a peak at what Europe has become.
Is there a common denominator on view to explain this decay?
Yes... It is all part of a HUGE plan, currently ongoing...
Yes. Africans.
Emigration.
Gimmi gration
Dr. Coudenhove-Kalergi, Soros, Schwab.
I've been to Lisbon 3 times Neil but it was definetly changed the last time I went which was last summer. Unfortunatly thats the same for most major cities in Europe at the minute.
Thanks for helping Will. He is underweight and lost his teeth. He still dresses well and is very intelligent. God bless and help him.
What's the objective to having the affluent depart?
Next time I visited properly was about 3 years ago
I spent a whole day walking about on my own in some of the areas you visited making my way to a flea market and I had no problem at all.
I used to carry a decoy bag/ wallet when I lived in NY.
@LilyGazou sounds like a good idea. But we shouldn't have to live like this.
politicians have NEVER been interested in the wishes or the well-being of the people they govern.
I know the world since 1941, when I was born and started travelling outside my home country Germany in 1956. I can really see it now what comes true, the agenda 2030 the WEF predicted: "You will own nothing, but you will be happy!" This is the beginning. I am glad I left Europe in 1987.
Disgusting to see the destruction of a beautiful city.
its the boat men's fault everything's closed
So nice of you to help that man!
Third world imports from ex colonies like Brazil and countries in Africa all the way to Tibete and East Timor, and throw in a few more from Bangladesh and India
@@j0s3mar9uesThat's what you get from stealing the resources of of Africa and other poor countries. Don't cry now. You have old money that was gained by unfair business practices. Zero sympathy here!!😢😢
It would be so much different if that "element" was not there. the same is happening in the US.
They have pillaged "that element's" countries, leaving them little choice but to go where their assests are. The chicken has come home to roost. Be careful how you steal the resources of poor people to beautify and modernize your country. The injustices against Africa and other poor countries are now in plain sight all over the world! That other element indeed!!!
What's the demographic of your 'elements'?
Thanks for the walkthrough. I can scratch Lisbon off my list.
I have been saying for 40 years that cans of spray paint should be banned except for necessary industrial use. Another place I won`t be visiting!
Good point
It's a fair point. They come in all sorts of bright colours, and not matched to car colours so what legitimate use do they really have? I've never seen an aerosol-sprayed car or anything else that didn't look rubbish - and it's so rare to see what might be considered a legitimate use of them.
but but people need to express themselves. After stealing the can.
WHO complied the most with jab mandates? Could it have been?
I had to test negative last time I was there before I could board my flight and had to show negative results when I arrived. Besides that stress, the trip was amazing
Yes Portugal .Highest excess death rate. But the PCR Test truth came out in this very city.
Clearly not enough migrants to work in the shops. Hence why they are shut 😐
Looks like Birmingham
Try Saint Petersburg for your next vacation.
It is a gorgeous place, but my terroristic (NATO) government makes visiting nearly impossible and expensive.
