Thanks for your video, tried all suggestions, but problem continues. Alexia follows command to turn on the radio, then seconds later just cuts out. This has been happening for a couple of months now, and nothing seems to work. Ive decided to remove all amazon products as not very reliable, just more reliable to turn on the radio and removes all frustration of Amazon.

Do you have to deregister a device or can I just buy one and factory reset it?

As registration is a security feature, designed to allow the owner of an Echo device to disable that device in the event that it's stolen or lost.
It is very difficult to de-register an Echo device if you do not have access to the Amazon account it is registered to.
This means that you have to be very careful when buying a second hand Echo, and ensure that before you buy, the Echo has already been de-registered.
You can tell that an Echo has been deregistered, when you power it on and it gives the following message. "Hello your amazon echo is ready for setup"
Hope that helps answer your query.

This did not solve my problem with my Echo 2nd generation device. I did get it off my Alexa app.

      Hi Donna
At the moment Amazon have not yet released a 3rd Gen Echo. However, as soon as a 3rd Gen Echo is release we will post a video on how to factory reset it.
Amazon have just release the 3rd Gen Echo Plus and Echo Dot. As we have already posted videos on how to factory reset these devices they might help with your query.

How to Factory reset a 3rd Gen Echo Dot - ruclips.net/video/wkrNGIuV2uU/видео.html
      Hope this helps

This vid is out of date - the Alexa app on IOS has changed. There is no list of devices in Settings from the home menu. Its Home menu - Settings - Device Settings - then select the Echo device to deselect. Scroll to the bottom and click Deregister next to 'Registered to'.
