- A Sainsbury's grocery haul for my family of five!
This week I decided to shop in Sainsbury's for the majority of my shopping needs. I'll take you through what I bought, how much things cost and the total I spent this week.
Hopefully this will help some of you decide where is best to get your shopping this week or just give you a few ideas for your shopping and grocery needs 🙂

Just a tip that you may already know (you are fab with your labels!), reduced fat coconut milk is just coconut milk but with more water added (water will normally be first ingredient of reduced fat, and coconut extract the first ingredient of normal) but they are normally the same price so it's better value to buy full fat and if you want it thinner/reduced fat, just add more water!
I did not know that! Definitely doing that next time around 🤩
I actually prefer to buy the creamed Coconut blocks and then you can make up your coconut milk as required. Less ingredients too...
@@super_ted_7371 yes these are great! The KTC one is great value but just sometimes don't want the faff of straining (i find it bit grainy without doing it!)

Pork is great in the pressure cooker with onions, garlic, parsley, veg or chicken bullion, and anything else you like. Stays moist and is so tender! I usually add carrots, too. Yum!

Nice big shop vicki. I did my food shop yesterday & i seened to have ran out of a lot of things so a stock up was needed ( household/ meat / vegetable/ baking), particulary on these things. I absolutely know what you mean about meal planning, i love finding new recipes, meal plannijg, cooking , but lately sometimes it just feels like hard work. I do try to cook at least 2 new things every week as well but when i was doing my meal plan this week i was a bit cant be bothered!! Had a few things onnthe plan but walked around lidl with a fre days 'blank' on the plan whuch us nit like me at all. So have got to wing it now & make a few things up!! But 2 new things im trying this week are sloppy joes, & a fakeaway popeyes chicken burger 🍔 so see how they go down. I try not to bit & bob shop once ive done a big shop its so tempting isnt it, you go out for the 2 things you need , & im not disciplined enough to just go get the 2 things, & before you know it, its another £20+ gone, so unless its something im desperate for i really try not to do it. Quick tip vicki, if your spice cupboard is well stocked , why dont you make your own spice mixes yourself? Thats what i do, i look up the ingredients on a spice rub, then just make my own. Ive always got empry spice jars so just make then up, whack them in the jars. So much nicer & you control how much of everything you put in. Just a thought as i know you like your different flavours
I love the idea of making my own spices, I’d love to get my cupboards more organised and give this a go! I’m interested in the popeyes burger, we don’t have one near us yet but I think it would go down well ☺️

You got a good deal with the Salmon. Me and my boy's are not keen on sesame oil. We all had upset stomachs, and my 6 year old vomitted. We do have intolerance to certain foods so maybe thats why...sensitive stomachs.

I’ve really noticed the cost again the past few weeks- it’s never ending.
Spain hasn’t been affected (was there for Christmas) and I just am seething really.
There’s nowhere left to turn to . They’re all price matching each other while the big brands just keep going up and up.
I had Sainsbury’s yesterday. Like you,need a fresh injection of different eats.going to try and make a bang bang chicken noodle salad…recipe sounds straight forward for the sauce.xx

I recently did wholewheat rice noodles,chicken,all the salads and- a clementine broken up. This was also superb. Mashed potatoes when I do it next,I remember that was a delicious combo . Have fun xx

Thank you! I’ve been using a Pantene leave in conditioner and also oiling the ends, it’s made such a difference! The curls are just a heatless curler I sleep in. I’ve also used my dressing gown cord, I wish I could send a picture of how they turned out 😬 think the lion from the wizard of oz lol 😂

Fun fact I’ve never actually dyed my hair. I was never allowed when I was younger & it’s just stuck with me 🤣 tattoos and piercings yes, but no funky hair colours for me (yet 🤪)
