With *these* old eyes the 14 or 16 inch models are the clear winners. As for price and performance, you’re looking at $1,599 for the properly configured M2 Air vs. $1,999 for the 14” Pro.
absolutely , the M1 with 512 SSD is the perfect all around lap top for diverse every day activities, I love mine. VERY few people would actually see any difference compared to the M2, the fact that the SSD on the M2 slows down sooner is a big plus for the M1 as well. M1 MBA = KING
@@volkssturm9694 M2 only has bigger screen, more brightness, new design, better camera, better speakers, magsafe in the same color, better performance overall, lighter body, new amazing colors. So yes, M1 wins lol
The M1 MacBooks were a big hit. The M2 MacBooks have received a lot of criticism, especially the base models. Apple has been very quiet about this and it makes me suspect that they intentionally crippled the M2 MacBooks to try to correct the mistake they made with the M1. The mistake was making them too good to consider the higher models as in the Intel days.
I think they are playing the Value Proposition game too by crippling features. It’s so they can sell the M2 MBP models for more using the same hardware.
I've been burned multiple times by first gen of apple products and I'm no longer willing to pay them to beta test their hardware. The fact that this CPU is meant to run hotter by design and this laptop has a worst heat sink than the M1 air doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
base model to base model, the M2 has an SSD that is half the speed and it will throttle more under load. If you aren't going to push the machine, save the money and buy the M1 Air
The M1 air with 16gb ram and 512 gb ssd costs me around 1500 Euros, the M2 Air with the same config costs almost 2000 Euros just the same as the 14 M1 pro. I have started video editing as a hobby and currently use my desktop pc (R5 5600x, 3080, 32gb ram) for that but I want something as well for the go since I am often on the go. Which model would you recommend me? I want to keep the device at least for 5 yrs.
Hello. I want to have a nice experience in areas such as video/film, note-taking, listening music, and editing, and I'm looking for a "long-lasting" device. In other words, my priorities include high-quality visuals, quality audio, writing experience, etc. MacBook M1 - 16GB - 256 (Is it unreasonable to buy it because it's 2020?) MacBook M2 - 16GB - 256 (2022) The M2 version is $230 more expensive, but I can afford it. However, some say that if the M2 doesn't have a 512GB SSD, it might experience slowness. Is this noticeable problem? I think the M2 being more recent is a good thing for longevity. Does the M2 provide a noticeable different experience compared to the M1 based on the features I'm looking for? The issue of "slowness" bothers me, especially if it doesn't have the 512GB.
Went for the Base M1 as it does all i need from it. Considered the M2 but as I just needed a small laptop to take with me on shoots and for business trips the M1 Air was alright. I do even edit my vids on it and it keeps up with 10BIT 4.2.2 4K Footage, which for sure is interesting. The M2 is a nice and more modern looking device but for me it was just not worth it.
I bought the M1 MacBook Air M1 in late 2021 thinking it would be a placeholder. Got the base on sale at Best Buy brand new. Two years later and I love this thing. Space may become an issue down the line with OS updates but I doubt it. I use it to stream and check and send emails.. apple music and tv. Basic stuff that doesn’t require storage. Pros: the screen is amazing. Same with the speakers. Build quality and being able to open the top one handed. Battery is black-magic.. lasts forever. Keyboard is great, trackpad even better. Cons: I’m not sure.. none for me. I do wish it came in black and I do kinda like MagSafe and the nicer cables but.. not for an extra $200 like the M2 Air so yeah, no complaints I suppose. If I lost it today and had to buy a new laptop.. I’d still buy a M1 Air, I’d just buy 16gb ram. Worth mentioning though, the 8gb I have now has never been an issue. Every bit as quick as a oc I had w 32gb of fast ddr4
I love the M1 Air for its form factor. The wedge shape makes typing on it so much easier on the wrists. Plus, it's dang fast and has terrific battery life. I will confess, I ordered an M2 Air just to see what it's all about. So we'll see if I eat my M1 words once it gets here.
Makes packing it way easier too, people don’t see that til they have to do that though which is to late. Can pack it in anything. The M2 air is a lot harder to do that.
If you think 16G/512G M2 is too expensive, buy M1. If the price is OK, choose the M2. Usually I use macbook for 5 years , so the M2/16G/512G/8C8G is my choice. Yes, it's not cheap, but if you divide the price difference by 5 years it's still a good deal.
I think you just ended my 3 week struggle with the ‘price divided by years of use’ equation. And just so you know, that’s the exact M2 config I’m looking at as well so you got that right too… Kudos 🙌
apple really rushed this product out and even though i feel like i would love the midnight color, i should just purchase an M1 to upgrade the SSD and RAM because those add up quick $$$. i wonder if apple will take their time with M3 or sell it to consumers next year hoping we will "buy" their market slogan "improved and better performance" but with a lot of flaws
I think since M3 is going to be on a new 3nm node from TSMC it will be more efficient than M2. The M2 Air is still faster than the M1 Air but it's too pricey.
hey I am a programming beginner and I have a request, instead of using the compile test for coding you should use the Mandelbrot set test by benchmark games, as it shows real performance of the machine. python for multicore. its easy to do and it is much more relevant. if have any issues in running those tests you can ask me as I have had some and you can refer to Alex Ziskind's videos for it. this would be of great help to people watching your channel
I do web development (frontend). I'm currently using a core i7 1165G7 16GB RAM DDR4 3200 Linux. I want to know if a base MacBook Air M1 (8GB RAM) is better or, at least, equivalent in firepower. In some benchmarks, considering the multicore score, seems to show TWICE the score (the Mac is higher). I often reach 80% of my RAM capacity
I’m very disappointed that Apple throttled the base version of the M2, and bet they will be sued to high heaven for it. Because of this I’m going to get the M1 instead. I refuse to shell out another $200 to upgrade the memory.
This is really a good and comprehensive reviews. BUT it would be really appreciated If u could also make a comparison video between M1 16Gb/256GB model and M2 16GB/256GB .
In India you can buy a MacBook Air M1 16gb ram variant for ₹107900 while for MacBook Air M2 8gb ram variant you have to pay ₹109900. Clearly M1 is better value for money.
yeah frr like the obvious choice for me as I'm on a budget is to go for M1 but the design man. The thick bezel of M1 Air's just bogged me, out of everything like that black bar looks useless. M2 on the other hand looks modern and having that extra space on top is like a dedicated space for the mac options. Also knowing Apple, only refreshes their notebook design for like every 7 years. Hopping in to the first gen redesign is a smart choice like your laptop wouldn't look so outdated in the future.
I got the base m1 air as my first apple laptop and I was weary.. the m1 interested me though and my 12 year old Dell had died. Two years later, this is probably my most prized possession. Not cause cost, but because I use it probably 8 hours a day. It’s an amazing machine. It feels first-class. My Dell felt like economy lol.
right frr man like I just like the redesign did by Apple. And knowing Apple they only refreshes theur design for like every 7 yrs so having the first gen redesign wouldn't make your laptop looks so outdated in the future.
if you're buying in used markets, MacBook Pros are a much better deal. People buy the M2 Air is for the new design. But it's ashamed that Apple put just one NAND chip in the base model, making the SSD speed slower than the old Air. Upgrading it to 512GB would push the price to very close to base 14-in MacBook Pro, which again, is a much better computer overall.
I don't know what I want to buy because I have tiny bught and now I love M2 chips it's so much confusion. Hope I win the giveaway and enjoy the experience of apple device 😔
This will be my first time getting a MacBook and I’m very undecided on a m1 or m2 (upgraded specs 512gb and 16gb ram) the m2 being about $250 more idk why people keep saying upgraded m2 is the same range as a m1 14” pro when after tax it’s over 1800, about $300 more than an upgraded m2. Not sure about you but that’s not exactly pocket change. Btw any suggestions between the m1/m2 are appreciated
I'm always very intrigued by seeing these comparisons year by year because I still remember just two-four years ago the M1 was like the laptop to end windows lol, and now we're nitpicking because there is better, technically. I am perfectly happy now with a few-year-old laptop with an M1, because it was way more than I needed then, and it still is now (especially the 16gb model, runs multitasking laps around an 8gb M3 chip for example). So, with my workflow, the only thing I would personally gain by upgrading to the newer more-expensive MacBook M2/3, I'd get a brighter screen and MagSafe lol.
TBH, only the SLIGHTLY BIGGER (by 0.3 inch) SCREEN of the M2 is what makes me wanna choose it (though I'm not really sure of its significance over the slightly smaller m1 in real world scenarios). 😅 I don't really mind the slightly better chip (arguably), slightly brighter screen, slightly better camera, slightly thinner bezels, slightly wider touchpad, slightly better speakers (arguably) magsafe, and full-sized function keys. IF ONLY the M1 and M2 both have the same screen size, then I would easily go with the older, cheaper one, the M1. 😔 APPLE knows how to play the game. 😂

I'm having a bit of a dilemma at the moment. I'm thinking about upgrading my intel 2020 MacBook air to either the M1 MacBook air or the M2 MacBook air. I'm heading into college as a freshman and don't plan on doing any coding or 3D rendering or anything of the sort; just taking pre-medical courses. After having education pricing, trading in my current MacBook air for $325 credit, and using the $150 gift card provided (I plan on asking to apply the gift card to the same purchase instead of being provided the gift card only after the purchase), the price for the M1 MacBook air will go down to $424, while the base model M2 MacBook air goes down to $624. My current laptop works fine and I haven't had much of a problem with the performance aside from the occasional hiccup in speeds, probably due to thermal throttling. If anything, I would be paying this $424 or $624 for convenience instead of actual "needs". Is it worth upgrading to one of these models? Should I instead focus on putting the money into my Roth IRA and wait out a couple years until at least the 2024 models come out? Thanks.
I have the m1 MacBook Air, and it is an absolute champ, just save some money and go with m1 , and I’ve done tons of research and the m2 has horrible cooling problems so you will just get worse performance with the m2 MacBooks. So just get the m1 air
The price difference outside the US just doesn't justify the existence of the m2 macbook, I am very disappointed with the 'upgrades' for the amound of extra money it costs. (800 euro for 2 year old M1 VS 1500 euro for a brand new basemodel M2 with reduced SSD performance and the other nitpicks.) For the target audience which is people looking for an entry model computer, this device just doesn't make sense. My friend bought a new HP envy hyperbook that looks a lot like a macbook with 16gb ram and last years I7 for 700 euro
Been following since a bit before your channel exploded in 2020/21 and thanks for the opportunity of winning a Mac, my Acer is dying and I’m crossing my fingers 🤞🏻 That said as usual your video is probably the best comparison there’s on RUclips! Sure the M2 is overall better, speed aside, but the price gap is too hard to ignore.
Hi there! I have a question for you or for anyone who might be able to help here. When I open a new window and at least one of them is in full screen mode, I can't find a way to toggle between each window. For example, if I have two files open in Preview, I can easily toggle between each file by pressing CMD + `. Same thing if I have two windows of Brave open - it works fine if the window I'm toggling to is not in full screen mode. Do you know if there's a way to toggle between files/windows using the keyboard when the windows are in full screen mode? Thanks a lot in advance for your comments!
I bought an M2 Air, but will return it for the M1 if I'm not blown away by the new version. I found a way to improvise Mag Safe on my iPad Pro and will use it on the M1 Air if I choose to buy one. Amazon has magnetic adapters for USB Cables. One plugs onto the USB C cable connector, the other goes into a USB C port on the iPad Pro or Air They connect via magnets on each adapter. Works well for data transfer, too. Great video, mate!
Does the one connecting to the port on the device protrude a lot? If so, that might damage the port during transportation. I was thinking of the same but decided not to for the reason stated.
I've watched this channel for year. By far, this video has been my most anticipated this year! Killed it! Keep on the good work!✨️ Even I need to get a macbook air for my college! Hope I'll get one soon🤍 I'm on discord too 🥳
For me I would take the M2 because of the bigger, brighter screen and MagSafe power. I would order it with a 512 GB hard drive though. If I spent any more on it like for more Ram, I would jump to the M1 Pro 14” MacBook Pro for $1800 on Amazon.
@@albertwang864 I ordered the M2 MBA with 24Ram and 1tb ssd also. cause at the store the air was just sexy and light, I love that mid-night color don't care about finger prints, I could get a D brand skin to cover it, having extra ram and storage it shouldn't over heat cause the extra power will take the load off the other chipset getting a 8gb with 256ssd thats already a struggle for the mba. with apple you can't cheap out.
I've measured the speed of my Macbook Air 2011' SSD with the Blackmagic Speed Test, I think there is something wrong, it couldn't be so low, 86 MB/s!!! The new Air M2 with 256 GB SSD is a lightning compared to mine!
Yes, what reviewers ignor is 99% of those buying an M2 Air are coming from older Intel machines so the NAND speed and quality will be a great upgrade. Very few are upgrading from an M1 so that speed difference is not going to be noticeable for buyers. It is a good time for that reason for Apple to move to MLC NAND (multi-layer) from SLC as it will effect the fewest amount of people.
1 in 200,000 (more or less) - at least it's better odds than winning the lottery and no stupid instructions like: "Comment down below for your chance to enter into the giveaway" or: "Like all my other videos to be considered..." How would you check if someone is 18 though? I guess asking for their ID (Passport) or something. Anyway, hope I win, need to buy 1 more item for my uni studies in a few months (iPad mini 4), so it would be great to have that out-of-pocket load off. But if not, good luck to all the others who are participating in the giveaway :)!

Why would you run till Thermal Throttle just doesn't make sense on MBA M2. I have the M2 base model for work and everyday task it has never even got hot with several windows open. Also I bought a SSD 1 TB for extra storage makes no difference to me how large files are stored just don't like it on my Laptop. My point being is that if you can afford to get the M2 MBA you should M1 is good don't get me wrong but for the long run I would get the newest edition. This M2 MBA is going to be my daily for many years to come. Oh and last thing before my upgrade to MBA M2 I had the MacBook Air intel the one right before M1 and I can cook an egg on that thing fan stayed on I had to upgrade it started to slow down gave it to my Daughter.
I have a MSI gaming laptop that needs to be plugged in 24/7 and the battery only last 2 to 3 hours, if your lucky. its a 32gb i7 core 4k screen with 512gb nvme with 1tb ssd the battery is new and huge. just basic web browsing the battery still dies fast. I would love some coffee right now.
The problem for me with the M1 Air is price and spec, as a minimum I'd get 512/16 and when you spec it like that suddenly you're not far off the base 14 Pro and personally if it was my money thats the one I'd get. I know costs have gone up but Apple should have dropped the M1 Air price and bought in the M2 at $999US for the base.

@@insenjojo1839 to match the base specs you’ll have to pay at least 30%+ it’s not a bad laptop but they’re still way behind the m technology
@@hazemkh i was comparing the m2 air/m2 pro with the base xps 13+, the base i5 actually outperforms the M2...and they are priced pretty similar...
@@insenjojo1839 the base xps has a 1080 outdated screen. 3 hours less battery life with 2 fans that can’t keep it as cool as the fan less air. A better xps 13 will cost more than the outstanding 14” m1 pro base that outperforms i9’s
I saw an M2 MacBook Air at my local tech store thing. It felt pretty nice in my hand.
Did it feel nice on your head too?
I appreciate that unlike most RUclipsrs you're looking at more workloads than just video editing.
M1 for the win, it's basically the same performance for hundreds less.
I disagree
@@volkssturm9694 M2 only has bigger screen, more brightness, new design, better camera, better speakers, magsafe in the same color, better performance overall, lighter body, new amazing colors. So yes, M1 wins lol
M2 base model is better than M1 any given day.
Good point. I think they also adjusted for profit with this machine.
I’ll be the space monkey
I'd rather have a cooler machine with faster ssd, so I would choose the M1 MacBook Air for programming
The M2 base model should definitely be the one with 512Gb storage
Apple does it since forever. They always make the base models lacking in at least one area, so they can force users to "upgrade" and pay more.
@@rafadydkiemmacha7543marquess brownlee supremacy
No offense but if there’s one thing to upgrade it’s the RAM to 16GB not SSD
base model to base model, the M2 has an SSD that is half the speed and it will throttle more under load. If you aren't going to push the machine, save the money and buy the M1 Air
good advice
The M1 is the one that I would go for. Great video.
To me the form factor of the MacBook Air M1 is better . It has this sleek look.
I have the same thought! What did u do?
@@christinasvevo4280 went for the M1 air. Since I travel quite often this choice suits me well. I wish the display was a bit larger though
in germany there is a 500€/$ difference between these two
yea man same in Slovakia
Hello. I want to have a nice experience in areas such as video/film, note-taking, listening music, and editing, and I'm looking for a "long-lasting" device. In other words, my priorities include high-quality visuals, quality audio, writing experience, etc.
MacBook M1 - 16GB - 256 (Is it unreasonable to buy it because it's 2020?)
MacBook M2 - 16GB - 256 (2022)
The M2 version is $230 more expensive, but I can afford it.
After 3 years apple is still selling MBA M1 because people still prefer to buy MBA M1
M1 is a champ with time proven performance ability. For the price you can't go wrong 👍
The M2 is a nice and more modern looking device but for me it was just not worth it.
it's too late i already bought the m2
How are they asking +200 for adding just 8gbs of ram, like I can order a 8gb 3200mhz from corsair for just €30 and their asking 200 for the same💀🙈.
The only reason I'm getting the M2 Apple MacBook is because I have the money just enough to buy it.
My M1 MBP purchase is really justified, since I could only afford the base 256GB.
I have Both. you will be happy with the M2 Air. It's an upgrade.
The M2 Air is still faster than the M1 Air but it's too pricey.
but i like macbook m1 because of its design build.
Thermal pad mod please senpai!
M2 base should have been 16gb and 512ssd. Thank you for the video. I hope to win the computer for school.
M2 all the way! My Midnight is coming on thursday!
BOOO, M1 better all around for every day activities.
hey I am a programming beginner and I have a request, instead of using the compile test for coding you should use the Mandelbrot set test by benchmark games, as it shows real performance of the machine.
python for multicore.
its easy to do and it is much more relevant.
if have any issues in running those tests you can ask me as I have had some and you can refer to Alex Ziskind's videos for it.
this would be of great help to people watching your channel
will it burn and break because its fanless? the m1 air?
No
I do web development (frontend).
M1 would still be better. The crippled SSD on the base M2 is no joke
@@MF_OXF what do you really use the mba for? I doubt anyone who take video editing seriously runs it on 256gb ssd
@@RunForPeace-hk1cu Yeah any serious video editor or enthusiast wouldn't stick with only 256GB SSD. They'd have 512 at the very least but usually 1TB.
I would love to see this comparison, with an external ssd it would be an awesome value
In India you can buy a MacBook Air M1 16gb ram variant for ₹107900 while for MacBook Air M2 8gb ram variant you have to pay ₹109900. Clearly M1 is better value for money.
M2 all the way loving my Air base model ! Dont notice ssd speeds at all .
Had the choice between both and when next to each other M2 looks amazing
yeah frr like the obvious choice for me as I'm on a budget is to go for M1 but the design man.
Still on the fence whether the faster SSD in the M1 outweighs the processor/display/camera/speakers of the M2 air
if i were to get the M1 how many years would it last me before i’d have to upgrade? (average student use and music production)
Thanks for the review. M1 Air seems to be the way to go instead of the base model M2
Personally I really like the m2 over the m1 (I mean the 16GB 512GB variants) but my pocket is telling me to be contented with the m1 😐
right frr man like I just like the redesign did by Apple. And knowing Apple they only refreshes theur design for like every 7 yrs so having the first gen redesign wouldn't make your laptop looks so outdated in the future.
The m2 is 1500 usd in the Netherlands and the m1 1130. Ridiculous
if you're buying in used markets, MacBook Pros are a much better deal. People buy the M2 Air is for the new design. But it's ashamed that Apple put just one NAND chip in the base model, making the SSD speed slower than the old Air. Upgrading it to 512GB would push the price to very close to base 14-in MacBook Pro, which again, is a much better computer overall.
Base Air M1 >> Base Air M2 if we considered value for money and don't want to spend $200 more for re-design :)
I don't know what I want to buy because I have tiny bught and now I love M2 chips it's so much confusion. Hope I win the giveaway and enjoy the experience of apple device 😔
With sales and lower prices recently, M2 is not worth the extra 30-40% imo, with the slow ssd on top of that...
Apple perfectly planned to fit this M2 MacBook Air in between M1 and M2 pro 14inch
What’s the visibility comparison when outdoors? The quick shot in the video couldn’t see anything on the screen, was it actually on?
The M2 Air is more performant and more expensive - That's fair. The M1 Air is still awesome and a great deal. Buy either one and you'll be happy.
stop assuming I am using my macbook only for docs and chrome, I am here to render 3d and code
I am still going to get the M2 air because I would rather not have someone at school trip over my charging cable and yank my M1 Air off the table.
I don't really mind the
slightly better chip (arguably),
slightly brighter screen,
slightly better camera,
slightly thinner bezels,
slightly wider touchpad,
slightly better speakers (arguably)
magsafe,
and full-sized function keys.
IF ONLY the M1 and M2 both have the same screen size, then I would easily go with the older, cheaper one, the M1. 😔
APPLE knows how to play the game. 😂
hey can you stream on twitch and play on low settings at the same time? and I'm wondering if you play long time let's say 1-2 hours FPS starts dropping? thermal throttling i mean
300€ (306$) price difference in Austria
Can i go with apple macbook air m1 256gb or either build a pc for 80k? Which will be good for editing and slight gaming
After watching this video I had no doubt that I'll go with the MacBook Air M1 happily 😀
I can’t wait to get the new M2 Air! But I guess by time I save enough for it with the ssd and ram upgrades they’ll be releasing the M3! How wonderful!
Then you can get the M1 and floored discount by then.
Definitely going for m1 here. Thanks for the comparison, it helped me a lot 👌
I don't you have any hope that you will read this comment but,
Thanks, man for the giveaway. Really waiting for 200K. To be honest, I haven't won any gifts in my life 😪😪and no expectations at all, Let's cross the and hope for good and want to congratulate for 200K and might get the achievement soon🥰🥰🥰🥰.
I'm getting MacBook pro M1 pro 1 tb 16 gn with the same price of M2 air 8 gb 256 gb, which one should I go with
I'm having a bit of a dilemma at the moment.
So just get the m1 air
idk but M2 feels not value of money for normal users who don't have works like heavy coding or editing to do
If i win the giveaway, i'll push the extra 1000 bucks to get the 14'' MacBook Pro instead... M2 Air is not worth at all.
The price difference outside the US just doesn't justify the existence of the m2 macbook, I am very disappointed with the 'upgrades' for the amound of extra money it costs. (800 euro for 2 year old M1 VS 1500 euro for a brand new basemodel M2 with reduced SSD performance and the other nitpicks.)
For the target audience which is people looking for an entry model computer, this device just doesn't make sense. My friend bought a new HP envy hyperbook that looks a lot like a macbook with 16gb ram and last years I7 for 700 euro
For your case ,stay away from Apple products.
I sincerely wish to win your giveaway cus I've been so stressful due to unable to afford the Mac, besides it''ll be my first time using it.
Been following since a bit before your channel exploded in 2020/21 and thanks for the opportunity of winning a Mac, my Acer is dying and I’m crossing my fingers 🤞🏻
That said as usual your video is probably the best comparison there’s on RUclips!
M2 air 512 is worth buying cuz I'm directly get into Mac universe from windows
i want the m2, but my wallet says m1😔
Good. M2 is not worth your money at all
You wont regret the M1, trust me
M1 is still rocking
I bought a M1 after watching your videos.
Killed it! Keep on the good work!✨️
Even I need to get a macbook air for my college! Hope I'll get one soon🤍
I'm on discord too 🥳
For me I would take the M2 because of the bigger, brighter screen and MagSafe power. I would order it with a 512 GB hard drive though. If I spent any more on it like for more Ram, I would jump to the M1 Pro 14” MacBook Pro for $1800 on Amazon.
I ordered 1tb SSD, 24Ram M2 air. I really don’t like the thickness and the weight of 14Pro…
Albert Wang I don’t think you can go wrong with what you ordered. Should be a nice computer with no slowdowns because if minimal specs.
Excellent video, as always! Thank you.
i hope i win :D
My MBP M1 is a great buy, I do need the active cooling for future proof, but I've never heard the fans, wondering if those are there haha
Best you tube channel for apple products review. Just seeing the video but can't buy it. 🤣🤣

1 in 200,000 (more or less) - at least it's better odds than winning the lottery and no stupid instructions like:

How would you check if someone is 18 though?

I use the M2 all day everyday and the Battery Life is outstanding get at least 14.5 hours with a steady work flow and have 22% left. the screen is great The speakers are okay nothing to write home about. I use my Sony XM4 most of the time with phone calls video calls music and movies.
M1 MacBook AIR is better because you can buy the 16GB version for the same price as the 8GB M2 MacBook Air.
Who is playing Tomb Raider at sub 20fps? That's barely playable. What a terrible comparison.
$500 USD is far off for me...
