Within the city itself, there are many forms of public transportation. The Guadalajara light rail system, named SITEUR (Sistema de Tren Eléctrico Urbano), Spanish for Urban Electrical Train System, provides rapid transit service within Guadalajara and the neighboring municipalities of Zapopan and Tlaquepaque. It consists of 3 lines: line 1, running from north to south, with 19 stations, line 2, running from downtown to the east, with 10 stations and line 3. The trains are electric and have a top speed of 70 km/h (43 mph). The 48 articulated cars currently in service were built in Mexico by Concarril/Bombardier. Construction on a third line began in 2014. Line 3 will run from Zapopan, in the northwest, to Tlaquepaque and Tonalá, in the southeast, via the city center.
The Guadalajara Macrobús is a public transportation system based on the concept of bus rapid transit, where each bus has a single route and boarding station. Phase I of the Macrobús project opened in 2009 with a 16-kilometer-long (9.9 mi) corridor following Calzada Independencia and serving 27 stations. The Guadalajara trolleybus system has been operating since the 1970s, along with many city buses run by private companies and a bustling network of pedestrianized streets. ~Wikipedia

Además en unos 4 meses terminan la construcción del sistema "Peribus" , que con sus estaciones , accesos incluyentes para todos con puentes peatonales , extensas ciclovías y nuevos autobuses será lo más moderno de América .
Y ya comienza la construcción de la nueva línea 4 del tren ligero , ya tiene presupuesto y la exigencia de concluirla el 2024 y será muy bonita y moderna .

It's interesting to see a real bus rapid system, not a system where a city claims to have bus rapid but, instead, runs limited stop buses in mixed traffic.
It’s very cool, also it has a express service were the buses only stops on a few stations
Literally Querétaro. They mix their Public Transport between regular streets and exclusive tracks, compared to Guadalajara with his O
own route and own track in their now 2 lines.
In Latam we have real BRT systems because we don't have money to pay a tram system (o well, we DO have it, but our politicians steal it 😳)
The most interesting thing is that the fast bus system in Guadalajara only has 1 line (already in the next few months or in 2022 the work of line 2 will be finished, the longest that will run in the middle of the periphery), but the most It is rare that when arriving at its station it has the advantage of having two lanes confined, for what reason, an express line is introduced (where the stop stations are skipped (called normal paradores) and only certain stations are marked as express, to be able to move faster and also to pass emergency vehicles (medical, police, prosecution, forensic and military).
On the other hand, line 2 will not have that.

I from to this city and i explain a thinks:
1_. The BRT get 1 line and other in construction, the BRT system use a convenical bus articuled a simple bus fro express route.
2_. I think Guadalajara get 200 o more routes of buses every route go to city, countryside, any place in the city or Metropili area for the price of 9.50 pesos mexicanos (0.48 dollar)
3_. Exist a routes luxury, why luxurys?, simple, the route luxury (707, 709 and 710) get a padded seat, TV and Air cold in the buses
4_. Exist a places what the distance of city center is considerable, for example i know a route that run from the city center to a 26 Km. to north to the city

Yeah, the R-186 (C-125) from the Downtown at Old Central in GDL to the Municipal Head in Tlajomulco, this route across GDL, Zapopan and Tlajomulco, and it's wild!

BRT seems like not a perfect solution when there is much more efficient and green alternative such as LRT. Unless it's constructed on top of the existing highway infrastructure
@@mihan2d it is actually. over the "periférico" It was pretty necessary and you can make a full 360 trip circumferentially in less than 1 hour when sometimes takes about 2 hours and a half. in adition the biggest bikeway in Latin america is already finished. the same 42 km each side
@@VNDREW7 and we can't afford another kind because it's less expensive a BRT. Imagine a TL line in the road. It would be a wildest cost just for that, probably a price that we can use for two or even three of them, depending how much would be.
Busiest Light Rail in America
This video was interesting, but also very disappointing. Right at the beginning we glimpsed a BRT worked with high-floor buses which have doors on the left hand side so that they can serve 'island platforms'. I was hoping the video would concentrate on this very unusual form of public transport. But we had just a few more glimpses, and we never saw the inside of a BRT station. (We did see the inside of metro stations,)

NOT your best work! It's your sequence and presentation that I object to. You need a graphic representation that gives a context as to how all the communities come together. As a Mexican I know my city but for those who have never been there your work makes it appear that you're? in chaotic Colombia or Brazil.

I don't really film bicycles or bike share programs. Public transit is my thing - although occasionally have done urban escalators!

Lamentablemente la línea del macrobus presenta diversos problemas continuamente ya que suspende el servicio por inundaciones, caídas de árboles o algunos otros incidentes. Por otra parte ya están utilizando camiones y como en ocasiones tardan mucho en pasar van repletos. Algunos choferes tardan en salir de la estación del mirador por estar platicando con los despachadores

El transporte se tarda en pasar y es caro, y lo digo como habitante de la Ciudad, que realmente es caro
Pinchi trasporte culero más el Macrobús, se tarda muchísimo en pasar y la capacidad de las nuevas unidades es deficiente además que con cualquier llovizna ya no circula, las unidades de trasporte público siguen con chóferes que no están capacitados para operarlos y siempre van a exceso de velocidad, el tren ligero es de los más eficientes pero últimamente ha tenido averías por el mal mantenimiento de los vagones.
En conclusión el trasporte aquí en Guadalajara es de pésima calidad.
México, la décimo quinta economía en importancia en el mundo, Guadalajara de importancia estratégica en América del Norte siendo la segunda más grande del pais y el transporte público en su 95% en una PORQUERIA Y UNA INFAMIA TOTAL; ...... toda la ciudad esta construida solo para el carro particular incluyendo los de plataforma y taxis

@@hectorcampos9244 Según los datos del último censo del INEGI, Monterrey es la segunda zona metropolitana más grande del país, es cierto. Pero olvidaron mencionar que el gobierno de Nuevo León mañosamente añadió a su zona metropolitana municipios que ni siquiera eran conurbados, que en realidad tienen urbanizaciones poco desarrolladas y que para fines prácticos solo se anexaron para solicitar al Gobierno Federal una mayor partida presupuestal. Es como si Guadalajara se hubiera anexado a Chapala, Jocotepec, Acatic o Tala que ni siquiera forman parte de la zona conurbada. Estoy hablando con datos fríos, sin apasionamientos y sin orgullos de qué ciudad es más grande que la otra, pero lo que sí es un hecho es que el transporte público de Guadalajara está mucho más desarrollado que el de Monterrey, y como punto de comparación tenemos la Línea 3 de cada sistema de tren eléctrico.

Never had a car and I lived in Guadalajara 35 years. WORST public transportation system IN THE WORLD (extremely unreliable bus service)for a city of this size. Been to US, Canada and Europe.
