I am 61 years old and have had them all. I currently have a 40 ft. fifth wheel, a 32 ft. class c, and a slide in truck camper with two slideouts. Trust me on this, get the smallest camper you need, not the biggest one you want.

    • @dillonh321

Thats what I'm thinking, I would like the 30ft 5th wheel. But I'm only gonna get a 18ft travel trailer. Enough for a single person.

Yes, this is so true. My wife and I have a 19ft travel trailer, single axle. Included is a twin bed, set of bunks bathroom. We also have two cats and a dog. We would have gone smaller, but we wanted the cats to have the bunk area so they have their own space, away from the dog. They all get along, but they like their space. We are thinking about getting a sprinter van or smaller camper when the cats pass on.

I work as an RV tech. Listen to me when I tell you that smaller RVs will last longer per dollar invested than the larger ones, especially those with slide outs. Slide out motors fail all the time.
Gas: You will save untold amounts in gas with a smaller RV than a larger one.
Price: You are camping. You will be outside 50% of the time if not more. The RV is there for a place to eat, sleep, and number 2. Why spend 80k when 20k meets your needs?
Maintenance: Fixing things is expensive. Its really nice when the most expensive item on the trailer is the fridge. It really sucks to spend 2300 bucks just to replace the black tank on a 28 foot behemoth. Thats my going rate.
Longetivity: All RVs die. Its life. 20k for 20 years is much better than 80k for 20 years.

kickinthebucketofmilk good comment. I’m not a camper at all but enjoy these videos. However, I think the little ones would suit weekend trips whereas the big ones are made for whole summer type trips.

If you’re watching this video then that means you have access to the internet, it takes literally 30 seconds for you to open a new tab, check the price and move on.

The second one is great. Love the fact the table can come out of the trailer and be used outside. So many of these trailers just have booth style table set ups. The only problem I'd have with this model is no real cabinets above the kitchen area and the small fridge. I personally prefer a little bit bigger fridge that has a freezer that you can put some frozen items into. Great video over all but next time open more of the cabinets doors and the fridge doors. 👍👍👍👍

I'm looking at this review of the smallest Geopros and I immediately thought of their great, full featured popup. Rockwood must have some really talented and thoughtful designers because once again we are treated to examples that at first glance makes one think, "Ah....more minimalist small RVs."
But Mr. BTBRV shows us all that minimalist is more a state of mind than reality when it comes to what Rockwood can accomplish with tiny RVs.

No one ever seems to notice or mention the extremely short and vertical back rests that provide absolutely no upper back support and will kill a back after an hour or so sitting like that. So impractical. Also, no one mentions the fact that as you lean back, all the window and blind hardware jabs you in the back. What good are amenities if you can't sit comfortably waiting out an 8 hour thunder storm system. It took us 10 years and 11 campers to learn this stuff :-)

I like these compact trailers but was surprised the 16' weighed 3800#'s. I have a 20 Keystone Passport Ultra Lite that weighs 3400#'s and it is fully self contained. Has full rear bath, slide out sofa/bed, full fridge/freezer, oven and 4 burner stove top and a microwave. Has a rv queen bed (5" shorter than regular queen). It is all aluminum frame construction on a steel frame. Has winter pkg and fiberglass sides with foam insulation. For the price difference I would check this model out. My F150 2WD pulls this RV with ease.

  • @rodneyws1977

Obviously a lot of the comments are people joking about the guy's tow recommendations. For the interested, any compact SUV would be able to tow the 12 foot model as long as they're OK with the tongue weight. There is absolutely no reason you'd need a full size truck to tow the larger one. Mid size trucks have 6000+ lb tow ratings now and neither of these trailers are over 3000 lbs.

These days, something like these travel trailers are ideal if you wanted to get a medium to large size for living in. With inflation and rent prices being so expensive, getting one and a little piece of land would be about as cheap as rent in most apartments or houses. I’m sure minimalist living isn’t for everyone, but for practical people that want to save money it would be perfect.

I was looking at some RV trailers at a motorcycle show last year and they had some small ones for around $16k and they were super nice don’t know the brand names because I’m not into them but I’ve been shopping for one for about a year now and I can’t believe the prices on the smaller trailers, you can get alittle bit bigger for a lot less money, which I don’t understand

Interesting but... people should know if they are looking at Rolex or a Timex, in other words price, price price is pretty important. When you consider how many nights you'll actually use this each year and how long your'll keep it, what it will be worth when you want to sell it then you'll know if you are staying a something affordable or equal to a 5 star luxury resort. Also if you don't have some property and live in the burbs you'll also be looking at a monthly storage fee on top. These things would be so cool to rent, not sure about owning one.
