Thank you for being patient. I'm afraid this could be the last video for a while, because I'll be at university. Thank you for all the nice comments on my videos, it's been really great.
Wishing you best of luck on the uni!
Eyy g'luck at university my friend
Your works are a classic of the internet, don't worry. Just remember to come back once you're a little richer.
Congrats on even getting into a university. I wish you good luck.
good luck with uni, thank you for your service.
I love how this wasn't even an ultimatum video, it was just Morshu dropping bars
I think that Morshu's ultimatum is very clear from this piece. In an echo of Morshu's Paradise, Morshu sings about his dilemma: should he profit from war and misery by selling arms to Link, or live an ethical life of poverty? While we know that Morshu's profiteering eventually helps free the people of Coridai, there's no way that he can really know how Link will use the bombs, rope and lamp oil he sells ("used for good or bad, I can't tell"). At best, Morshu can only trust in his own judgement of character, and nobody else's ("the system's fine as long as I head it"). We cannot count Morshu as without fault though. By his own admission he's blinded by greed ("gotta make money and never look back"), and while he attempts to justify it with a rags-to-riches story ("I got dealt a bad hand..."), it ultimately rings hollow ("rubies [...] they are my life"). Morshu stays up at night, and while he'd have us believe that his fears are purely business ("To have good sleep is a rarity [...] If I dip into the red I'll pack up"), it's clear that his true fear is in selling arms to the wrong person ("I need a customer to count on").
Has Morshu truly become a monster? This is the tale of the Coridai Cretin.
Fantastic analysis, though I would say, the "customer to count on" was more of a desperation to have a true friend amidst all the faces in the crowd in his shop
"My way of life is frozen now...
""My friend sorry. Please come back...""
...cause' I can't quit. I don't know how..."
That confirmation makes me feel a lot better to know his more "moral than corrupt" perceived inclination & makes me feel happier with deciding to donate rubies to the Morshu foundation. (Also, as someone starting my 1st year uni, best of luck Burnt Lamp)
Although I prefer the more moral theory of Morshu, that's a really good analysis, Sanchezman. Good stuff.
@burnt_lamp I figured that it was him needing a sense of financial safety, therefore asking for you to come back later (as he follows it with "a reliable person I can amount from")
I'm 32 and this is deep
Morshu knows from bitter experience that if you get a reputation for lenience, people will only take advantage of you. He's known Link for a long time, and generally trusts him, but if you show favouritism, then where does it end? You can't give credit to everybody, so who's to judge that Link's sob story is more valid? At the same time, if you show callousness to your true friends, they may just as soon leave you behind. Link is a valuable repeat customer, and you want to be able to give him something he can't find anywhere else. So it's a balancing act. It's an ultimatum.
When the world needed him the most, he returned.
Not quite.
Holy fuck.
The lines "It's nice to be rich, but at the end of the day, as long as you have enough it's ok." goes unbelievably hard.
Well done once again.
“I’ve got dealt a bad hand but it’s not a bad pack” is just such a good line
Never imagined you could make a song cover for Grinch's Ultimatum song. Well done, this slaps hard af.
Holy shit, the lyricism on display is sublime. This is better than most non-YTP rap I've heard.
"The systems fine as long as I head it" sounds like it's cut dialogue it's so smooth. Great work man!
Using “richer” to sentence mix “scripture” is both hilarious and genius
"To loan is to lose" - Morshu 2022
i was expecting another passable grinch's ultimatum edit and then morshu started freestyling and blew my mind
*returns with one great video with morshu rapping to grinch's ultimatum*
*leaves again*
Chad
I like to imagine at the beginning Morshu is pleading with a customer "Come back! Come back!" then catches himself and flips it into "Come back when you're a little..."
“Don’t lecture me on scripture- I’ve read it. ’To loan is to lose.’ Quote me, I’ve said it.”
Easily the best line within this work. Morshu is aware of the apparent immorality within his work, as he’s read these scriptures, which is presumably referring to philosophical, or even religious text. However, although he agrees with the premise of the ethics, he finds himself disdaining those who subscribe to it, as he finds they misunderstand his situation and his moral code. He doesn’t hate those who cannot pay upfront, he just knows that, if he gives credit, he will inevitably fall. He believes that this is an important nuance which needs to be understood, and should be added on top of the base scriptures.
Note the “it’s nice to be rich, but at the end of the day, as long as you have enough, it’s ok.” This further exemplifies the point made by the line discussed within the head comment. Morshu outright says it’s ok to only be scraping by- he knows the feeling. He just finds that it is best for him, his family, and even his customers that he becomes as rich as possible, without ruining his moral code. He can refuse credit without tainting his morals, as he believes it is not an immoral thing to do.
@@JM-cl7pl (rips from bong) "Duuuude....."
But seriously, these actual analysis comments are some of the best parts of any good Morshu song.... video... thing.
Why do morshu parodies with original or semi-original lyrics always have such unironically great lines and rhyming. Seriously, well done on the lyrics on this one, there's some legitimately great lines here, and they're totally original if I'm not mistaken. The original doesn't even have lyrics. Fantastic.
It feels like morshu is oftentimes portrayed as greedy, but here we see the reality that he's like all of us, just trying to get by in an expensive world where only those that can make a profit will survive..
Can you please post the lyrics raw
That was so shockingly poetic lmao
Lamp oil, rope, bombs, you want it?
It's yours my friend, as long as you have enough rubies.
Sorry Link, I can't give credit!
Come back, come back, come back when you're a little-
Lamp oil, burn up the turmoil
One slip and I'm buried in the subsoil
I sell bombs to keep me afloat
But if I can't make money I'll sink my boat
I have rope and it often sells well
Used for good or bad, I can't tell
But I don't care, cause if I get my pay
I can open up and eat another day
Gotta make money and never look back
Ride on the train and keep it on track
If I fall behind I just pick up the slack
I got dealt a bad hand but it's not a bad pack
I can't have debtors so I can't give credit
The system's fine as long as I head it
Don't lecture me on scripture - I've read it
To loan is to lose - quote me, I've said it
Rubies, the finest gems of them all
They are my life and my port of call
It's nice to be rich but at the end of the day
As long as you have enough, it's ok
The grind never stops - I can't get a fresh start
Timings are tight so I gotta work smart
Night and day are the same to me
To have good sleep is a rarity
Come back - I need a customer to count on
A reliable person I can amount from
I balance the books, but it's often no fable
It's a horror story, and then I feel unstable
If I dip into the red I'll pack up, cause its over
I feel like every day I find a four leafed clover
Cause I always find a way to turn a profit on my wares
Too good to be true, but then again who cares
Gotta make money and never look back
Ride on the train and keep it on track
If I fall behind I just pick up the slack
I got dealt a bad hand but it's not a bad pack
I can't have debtors so I can't give credit
The system's fine as long as I head it
Don't lecture me on scripture - I've read it
To loan is to lose - quote me, I've said it
@@burnt_lamp How are the lyrics so good nd the sentence mix works, it even rhymes
@@YeprilesteR its just a matter of patience. I make multiple rewrites per line until I have the flow I need
*_...and that's the tale of the Koridai Kretin..._*
"I got dealt a bad hand but it's not a bad pack" goes so unbelievably hard
I absolutely love this. It’s nice that ya returned, even if it was for naught but a moment, but it was not for nothing. A light in the distance waits for ya my mate.
I've been looping this for 2 hours and will likely loop for many more, the flow is just that good. Amazing and genuine feat of lyricism.
Sick choice of beat, love Grinch's Ultimatum and love Pilotredsun!
Another absolute banger from the top modern musical artist himself, Morshu.
GOD the lyrics u make for these songs are legit SO good?? when i first discovered u, ur morshu covers made me unironically hyperfixate on zelda cdi for a little while
burnt lamp youre literally a lyrical genius with two sentences of material. Every morshu remix youve made goes so hard and has unexpectedly banger lines. Love to see it
I can't believe you wrote the lyrics for this, it's precious.
one of new favorite songs
"Have I truly become a shopkeep?"
er
Good lord, we definitely getting out of hyrule with that one! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was NOT expecting him to rap holy heck

This legit feels super nostalgic lol, can't believe only a year's passed like damn. Feels like two years lol
Good luck with uni mate, wish you the best 👍
Jesus fuck, the lyrics smash.
THIS DID NOT DESERVE A HEART
Ok no heart for you
@@burnt_lamp Thank you.
Underrated
Holy crap, this is amazing.
I was expecting another mildly funny ultimatum shit post, but instead I get Morshu dropping SICK bars over PSR's classic, a vibrant and powerful piece about self-control, hard work, and a personal vow to not participate in debt slavery.
It sounds silly, but I'm genuinely moved by this.
Godspeed, and end the fed.
This is the best kind of video to find at 2am
I wasn't expecting a rap when I saw the thumbnail.
Also, as always, a reminder:
He has two fucking lines.
I was just listening to Lamp Oil Inc again yesterday, glad to see you back!
Dude this fucking slaps! Straight bars! Morshu spittin' mad rhymes

This is actually really good
didn't think sentence-mixed morshu rapping over a pilotredsun song was something i'd see today, but i'm glad i have.
this goes oddly hard
Have a good time at uni, Burnt Lamp. I'll be listening to A Merchant's Shanty on repeat until you return
Wtffffff this is so good. I wasn't expecting a whole song
I am so glad to see this! The rope line is hilarious, and about balancing books too) Glad you're back with some new stuff!

dude. hip hop + Zelda + pilotredsun all in one video, very specific crossover episode but all subjects that I love
Thank you for making theses
Ah, i was having a bad day, thanks so much for this, now i feel better
so fucking well done
I'm an average fan of those shit post character AI covers made by fans but I think we should all agree that art like this is 10000000× better and takes a lot more effort, I fucking love stuff like this, it's like bread and butter and to compare the AI stuff it would be stale crumbs in comparison.
That morshu rap came out of nowhere
And thats the tale of the koridai cretin
This is absolute fire
So good
This song is perfect when you need to get into the business mindset! "Got dealt a bad hand but it's not a bad pack" is such a good line and resonates with me a lot :)
I love how morshu doesn't say much, but you make use of the whole dialogue really well.
My god, i honestly thought you stopped doing those for good.
Glad to see more of our favorite vocalist.
Oh it is you again old friend welcome back to my RUclips recommended

A tragic tale about a man's descent into pure greed. What was once a struggle to get by has become an empire of ruppees that turned the person at its head into a ruthless husk. His soul is good as sold 'cause he doesn't get to feel, no
This is another masterpiece as usual. Bravo!
The text at the bottom: awesome lyrics that flow well and rhyme amazingly.
