    Folks, many of you have asked if you could upload “CLIPS” from our video collection if you see something that you feel is important or informative. Yes, you have our permission to share them via RUclips as Clips or Shorts. We make these videos to explain how we apply stucco or plaster. Through thousands of comments we’ve received, different folks find certain content very helpful. Thus, feel free to “SHARE” our stuff.
    Again, feel free to upload your favorite clips, as it seems to be a win-win situation.
    We show our work because we are honest, confident, and transparent. We have nothing to hide; we know what we are doing. If I had to say where we were schooled, it's closest to, say, the University of Morals, which means if it's not done right, you go back for free and do it again, but this time properly.
    Thus, all can depend on us for sound advice and workmanship.
    Few politicians have ever graduated from “The University of Morals. 😉

    Howdy all, Jason, my son, filmer, and plasterer, made this video to explain how to stucco walls or cut up front porches. For your information, stucco needs two coats. In this video, we applied three, as the dash coating is considered another coat.
    I’m adding it because it’s so funny. It features a “Handy Andy” and a “Real Plasterer,” whose skills surpass anything we have done. I was impressed by the professionalism in this old video. • Lathing and Plastering...

      Howdy Bob, by itself, you will have at least an hour before it starts to set; float it while it's firm. Use skill, not muscle. Rapid set, set in about 15 to 20 minutes, they do sell the retardants at some of the HD stores.👨🏻‍🔬

      Are you referring to sakcrete Base coat mix…the scratch and brown one step mix?
      Do I need a finish coat or can I just prime and paint ? Thanks!, Bobby!

    What is the trowel called you used to apply the basecoat?

    • @StuccoPlastering
      @StuccoPlastering  Год назад +1

      It's called a swim-pool trowel it's 20 X 5 and holds half a hawk of mud. I tell folks to use a Marshalltown 14 X 5 as the one I prefer is too cumbersome for most folks. 👨🏻‍🔬

    Kirk how do you mix your brown coat

    • @StuccoPlastering
      @StuccoPlastering  Год назад

      Evening Joey, you can type those words into our channel for a tutorial. We usually use a premium cement plaster mixed with three times the amount of sand. Premium stucco means it has lime that acts as a plateriser and common which is added and used for structural strength.👨‍🏫

    Can anyone tell me what is used to attach the wire ? And do you attach the wire flush to the wood/tar paper?

    • @StuccoPlastering
      @StuccoPlastering  Год назад +1

      A lathers staple gun was used the paper is self furred as 99 % of the wire is set off the wall a quarter inch, Sorts of like Dobies used for concrete. Thus the stucco becomes embedded with the lath in the center. Type in lathing instructions on our page.👨‍🏫

    Can anyone tell me how long the stucco needs to dry/cure before prime and painting it?

    • @jasonsnider8749
      @jasonsnider8749 Год назад +1

      Never paint stucco if anything Fog coat it.

    • @StuccoPlastering
      @StuccoPlastering  Год назад +2

      The boring fact of waiting the traditional 28 days before painting new stucco.
      When new stucco is first applied, it has a high pH of around 14.
      It’s best to wait a few weeks or more, depending on weather and hydration, for the pH level to drop to around an 8 or 9. Why? If painted too soon, the paint can blister, ghost, and peal or not adhere as well as it should due to new stucco’s high acidity. 👨🏻‍🔬
