1,000,000! I never thought it would ever happen, and it may yet dip back 999,999 as usual. But, I will enjoy if for a few hours. The record is happy to be back in the homeland.
I hear you.. I just bought a Fanny LP for cheap on Amazon from The Beat Club, and Israel Vibration an outstanding roots reggae album form Jamaica in the 80's. Did I need them, no.. But, I want them !
Indeed, and it has been 🙂 But, if previous patterns are repeated, I will drop below that magic number for a while and then cross over again. Nothing is ever easy!
When people get VCLT, you don't even have to put "from Steve," anymore. We all assume that is who it is from! I've not listened to Mr. Wilson myself, but I'll be looking him up.
Very cool VCLT from the Captain of Steves! I well traveled record indeed and a cool story behind it. I like the album artwork and the inner sleeve artwork as well. Nice assist by MGK Colton!
You hit the 1000 mark! Congratulations Brian, well deserved, and a great VCLT from Steve. He was also kind enough to send me one which Mike remembered to give to me while I was sharing a glass of wine with him and Patty on the Sunday night. Cheers.
Super cool VCLT! Always wild to listen to something and make a connection to another artist and it turns out to be a real connection. That’s a good ear.
Nice VCLT...Sounds like it would be right up my alley too. Anything connected to Fleet Foxes and Father John Misty always seem to connect with me. Very cool.
Hi Brian, how have you been? Always nice to the Love Train go around, Canada, Chicago, Boston, Canada… Had Never heard of this artist, love the artwork, will keep in mind and look up, enjoy your evening ✌🏼
Very nice VCT from Steve! It definitely took the long way home And congratulations on reaching 1,000 subscribers! You've put in the work, and it's paid off. Take care of Brian
Thanks, Mark! Looks like Steve's channel is now gone. I heard through the grapevine that someone hacked his email, so I am wondering if that is related. In any case, my link to his channel is dead and it seems to no longer exist. . .
Thanks Mike! No doubt a few subs were a result of your generous shout-outs 🙂 So, thanks for your support! There's also no doubt that you have caused me to spend a lot of money on records, but that's probably a good thing 👍😆
There are a lot of albums I've never heard of but somehow this one just strikes me as really something I've never heard of. The cover is intriguing. I hope Steve comes back soon.
This album was totally off my radar, but I am happy to have heard it now. It's quite good. I just read that this dude produced the new Father John Misty record. That is on my wish list now too, along with hundreds of other things 🙂
First off Brian, many congratulations on hitting 1,000 subscribers. It's a real milestone, and well deserved after all the hard work you've put into your channel. I look forward to watching you grow your channel further. I was a fan of Jonathan Wilson around the time of 'Gentle Spirit', and I saw him live a couple of times in a small club. For some inexplicable reason, I lost track of his career after that. I must dip into the more recent albums. I liked the laid-back Laurel Canyon vibe he had and especially his guitar playing. I recall that he became Roger Waters' guitar player, which no doubt helped pay the bills. Steve is very generous.
Hi Carl, Steve is very generous indeed. Thanks very much for the nice comments. I never imagined attaining 1000. I guess I thought that if 50 people watched the channel, I would be happy 🙂 I will now, of course, have to look back to earlier Jonathan Wilson albums. This music obsession is a never end series of rabbit holes!
@@EmbryonicRobot The Jonathan Wilson track that sticks out for me is 'Desert Raven'. It reminds me of CSN, America and Gene Clark (who did a song called 'Silver Raven) ... There are so many rabbit holes to go down. It's fun isn't it? I'm currently obsessed with Nick Cave. I played 'Push The Sky Away' earlier. The track 'Jubilee Street' is magical... The best thing about doing a RUclips channel is building up a network of fellow obsessives who become friends. I'll keep plugging away to hopefully eventually get to 1,000 subscribers.
@@carltweed942 I recently got a copy of Push the Sky Away. It's fabulous I was very late to Cave, for no reason that I can understand. I am sure you will get 1000 before you know it!
Sven is a very generous man. My winnings from his last comp are in the mail! I'm sure it will be a record & movie he won't dig 😂I'm glad you took that post it note off. For a minute I thought you were showcasing your new solo album. I really like Will Oldham and related so I reckon I might like this too.
@@EmbryonicRobot What is going on? You're right because whenever I check my sub thread Sven's posted another seven videos...hmmm. Hope all is good with the great man.
@@EmbryonicRobot He did send me a random message an old vid saying that he'd deleted his old email and was going to send me an email from his new email address. So far nothing.
Good question. Maybe it's a double entendre? In any event, I will be thinking about that as I listen to the record in future 🙂 But, because I had to know, I just did a Google search, which led me to this statement from Progressive Rock Central: "Eat the Worm, sounds like an invitation to finish that larva at the bottom of tequila bottles; just to see what happens. And that is the sound and feel of this album throughout. Jonathan Wilson telling you to experience more out of life, before it is too late, and so you do not have any regrets, later." Who knows? 🪱
Glad the record made its way back to the homeland Brian! Congratulations as well on hitting one million subscribers! ✌️
Does that make him a millionaire of sorts? 😅

I've always wanted to be a millionaire. Of course, I have to now put the cap back on the champagne because, as predicted, I am back at 999!

Wow, Lots of mileage on that album Steve is always so generous.
Enjoy the music my friend.

999!
It took a long time!
Nice VCLT from Steve.
Agreed. It was my lucky day 🙂
Oh so nice to get VCLT, and it being in great nick after all the travel 😄 Like to off kilter artwork too!
Enjoy 🎉! Steves Generous indeed
He is the king of VCLT and a really great guy. Some day, we will meet in person (I hope).
Nice story. I have his first two albums on CD. Cheers
I guess I have some catching up to do!
This is an excellent record, and very much Father John Misty sounding !
I agree. The sad news is that this might cost me some money because I may need to search for his previous albums

I do have some Father John Misty but I have not heard of Jonathan Wilson. The record did make quite a trip and that was great of Steve.
Steve is solidifying his reputation as one of the nicest and most generous people on the planet 🙂
999 subscribers. A threshold is about to be crossed. 👏🏻

Hey Brian..Steve is such an awesome dude..never heard of this artist..sounds interesting..👍❤glen
Hi Glen - Steve certainly is n awesome dude, but did you happen to notice that his channel seems to be gone?
Interesting and a good call on the Father John Misty connection, and.. Made in Canada 😊 I'm listening now.
The funny thing about made in Canada is that there was time, not so long ago, when there we no pressing plants in Canada. Things have changed!
That's awesome ! I can think of Stars, Broken Social Scene, Wolf Parade.. All on that good Canadian wax. The Dears too !
Nice gift from Steve. Enjoy!!! Congrats on 1000 subscribers. Awesome job!!!
Thanks, Rich. Steve always knows what to give. His wife must be very happy!
