  • Stellantis NV and Samsung SDI Co. have agreed to establish a second battery plant in the US to support their growing electric vehicle (EV) offerings. The facility, set to start production in 2027, will have an initial capacity of 34 gigawatt-hours. While the location is yet to be determined, this follows the companies' announcement of a $2.5 billion battery plant in Indiana. Stellantis aims to offer 25 new battery electric vehicles in North America by 2030 and to sell 5 million battery-electric vehicles globally by the same year.
