Your tip about sealing the cuttings with wax to avoid rot is amazing!! I'm in the beginning stages of starting my own garden and house plant business and your channel has been both inspiring and so helpful! 😊
That's so kind of you to say, thank you 💚
Hey, if you've tried this could you let me know if you need to clean the wax off or if the roots will grow through?
@@elifbilecan7009 you're only dipping where you've made the cut, which will be below a node. That's where the root will sprout from so no need to worry.
Your curly hair is GORGEOUS. Love ya girl - videos always make my day 🪴
Awww thank you so much 💚
Perfect video for what I needed to know. Thanks so much Claire xx
TYSM for this!! I just bought a philodendron white knight and even though I live in a warm place and we got a heat pack the plant froze with only one decent leaf. I’ve been meaning to propagate it and this really helped!!! New sub
Many thanks Claire, another super useful video 😊❤️
Thanks for the tips now my white princess is big and healthy thanks to you❤
I just got this plant today, just a cutting and am excited to see it grow
Ooooh how exciting! I really hope it does well - they're super fast growers!
Your white princess is so so beautiful...I did see when you broke a leaf.......you handled it well....I think this plant is going to be highly hunted for collectors...It has grown on me everytime I see one ...they always look nice for most growers...I would buy one for sure!! I just heard about pon....never heard about it until yesterday....you will have to do a video for us with your pon philos! Love your channel so much! See u soon
Thank you, and yeah that leaf snap was truuuly TRAGIC! They're such beautiful plants 💚
great video! very informative :)
My baby is always so excited when she hears your intro 😂
Would love to see a video on your thoughts about moss poles vs coir poles vs planks of wood. It’s got me all so confused lol
Awwww bless her heart! I'll definitely make sure to cover that soon - that's a great shout
Great content love ya hair down! You go girl 👧
Thankssss!
Great video and lovely plant.
Thank you! She's a beauty isn't she!?
Great video and that White Princess is fire 🔥🔥
Thank you! 💚
"WOAH, ALL THESE NUTRIENTS! CAN'T COPE!" 🤣 I love to think that plants react this way :DD
Can you share potting mixed of white princess?
Hi! thank you for amazing information. I have a white wizard. I was treating it for thrips and by accident left it in a cold area. Now the white one the old leafs are all turning brown and it looks bad. But, it still grows and the new leafs are pretty. could i then cut it below where the ne leafs begin as long as there are nodes over the place i cut? And when should i plant the cutting into soil? I'm pretty new too this, and I learn so much from you videos!
Thx in advance from a fan from Norway :)
Do you suggest misting when the humidity gets low if I don’t want to use a humidifier? Or would the water and stones suffice?
What would be the reason for yellowing tips? Also I have patches of clear/yellow where it looks like the leaf has gotten stuck while unfurling.
Watching this vid when I don’t even have the plant yet 😂 I’m dying to get 1! How easy woul you say? Thanks so much claire 🙏🏾💕
Haha - it's a great plant! Really not difficult at all once you find the right spot for it and just watch your watering. I've found mine really low-maintenance 💚
I picked one of these up about 3 weeks ago and although it's not dying (which is nice) it's not really doing anything else either. I can't pinpoint what it's unhappy with, or maybe I'm impatient and it's still settling in.
Hi Claire 👋 just binged watched your pink and white princess videos and as you say the care seems very similar. Was wondering if you have any info on care differences between white princess/white knight? I’m not sure which mine is as it was labelled white princess but it doesn’t climb like yours does and the stem is a more green/white/pink…
They are super similar in their care needs - the only thing (can't remember if I mentioned it or not) is that the PPP pink variegation can sometimes fade in super bright light and isn't as prone to browning as the WPP. I don't actually own a white knight at the moment, but stocked them back when I had my shop, and from my experience (I never cared for them for more than a few months at a time) but seemed incredibly similar 💚
Is it better to use a pole with either coco coir or moss , compared to a thin pole to just tie ot to as it grows ?
In new to plants and got the white princess and a ppp dark cherry variant. I didn’t realize the struggle of keeping the humidity up, my place is always around 30-40% I don’t have a humidifier yet, in return I do spray mist them twice a day. Is that enough for them? Or should I invest in a humidifier? They’re the only plants I have outside of an my aquarium and some pothos.
How do you take a new start from caladium?
I’m having issue with my philodendron white princess the Ariel roots seems to be dying and leaves are drooping. I also noticed root rot when I received the plants I treated it with peroxide and cinnamon, and still looks very sad.
Great video, may I ask what the delicate looking pale green philodendron is trailing behind you on the left if the monstera?
It's a golden pothos (epipremnum aureum) 💚
I see this is an older video and I know you might not see my comment but I thought that I heard you say in this video you were going to put a link underneath about how to treat water a few different ways affordably that makes it safer to feed your house plants. Maybe I'm wrong because I didn't see it so I just thought I'd check. Thanks for your gorgeous informative videos
Buy waterconditioner for aquariums.👍🏼
😍 your channel. I recently bought a large leaf single cutting from eBay. The leaf has now died and gone yellow. I'm left with a short chonk with two pink nubs one has a tiny root coming. Shall I just leave it in the water without the leaf or put it in pearlite in a container?
If it were me I'd probably use sphagnum moss with this one (just because I've never tried perlite for this plant before). I wouldn't leave it in water without the leaf tbh just incase it starts to rot. I really hope you manage to save it 💚
✅💚🍀 nice Channel !
Hello first of all i love your vidéo, i learn so much. Thanks alot ❤️I have a white princess since 3 week, it’s à top cutting she is still in sphagnom moss for is roots. There is a new leaf on it’s way but the tip is brown/black what should i do ? She is in a green house with a grow light .
Sometimes they can be slightly slow to get going, so to help her along I'd recommend increasing light, temperature and humidity (and obviously making sure the sphagnum doesn't dry out). I wouldn't worry about the black tip for now, it's probably just a reaction to being chopped and roots not yet forming 💚
What is the plant in the hanging pot to the right of your head? Its so cute, looks like natural hair in locs! lol
I love this plant so much I got one almost a year ago and I just can't figure it out. It's always yellowing and looking mushy like the New leaves comes out dark and mushy.
Ive tried more/less light more/less water etc but I just don't get it :(
So I just bought a house and I am having the worst time getting the humidity up in my home. It sits at 40% and even dropping to 30% at night. I just put my white prices in a clear plastic bag and placed it over a air vet to keep it warm. I also water it and drained out the excess before placing it in the bag. do you have any advice? this poor plant has had the worst time and even dropped one of the three leaves that it had when I bought it.
what would cause the leaf of a white princess to become wet and mushy. Ive had it less than a month and only watered it once. Also the white parts are mostly opaque. Im a new plant mama and am at a loss. TIA
Hi!! I have an small cutting og a white knight, is veeery small, so I was wondering if I should transpass it to a bigger pot or should I leave it to overgrow the tiny one he is in right now.. Is winter at the moment and most of my plants are dormant :)
I'm not a pro or anything but I'd suggest leaving it , they say plants do better in the same pot and only need to be changed once roots start growing out ect.
Claire, Can I grow my white princess in water?
Hi! This is a wonderful guide! I need a bit of help though. My plant is growing leaves but before they can get large they shrivelled up and felt dry and curled up. Do you know what’s causing this? The stem still looks healthy but I don’t know what to do. Thank you
Omg!?? The wax trick!!!
I have never thought about it. I will be trying this. I’ve had issues with propagation with a few cuttings where it would rot.
Thank you for that!!!
Question, does it matter what sort? Soy wax? Or just any kind of wax
No worries! I've always used just plain beeswax 💚
would a grow light / grow lamp burn its leaves or would it be okay? ive just bought one however my room is quite dark so im a little worried! x :)
itll be fine! i have mine under a growlight and shes doing AMAZING
What is the word you say at 7:14 that you are thinking about repotting in to? I really wanna know!!😊
I think she said pon. Lechuza pon
Luckily I have built in humidity because of my 15 fish tanks lol
Does the variegation tend to revert on white princess?
It depends on the plant and the conditions you're offering it. As you can see my one here has actually increased in variegation as time's gone on 💚
Sorry, what do you mean by “transfer her to pond” @ 7:15? What is pond?
Hey no that's my fault for not making it clearer. Pon is a substrate (Lechuza Pon) that's used instead of soil. It basically looks like loads of little rocks but provides a fantastic environment for plants to grow, requires very little attention/watering and in my experience keeps plants super happy! 💚
What happens when your white princess produces only White leaves?? Do you chop them up??
Purely white leaves are so beautiful, but because they don't contain any chlorophyll they usually don't last very long. You can chop them, or you can just enjoy them while they last and wait for them to naturally die back
My poor White knight is giving me just green leaves. I'm struggling getting the right light for it
Is that a white princess or white knight? The stem looks burgundy and not pink.
I've never seen the white princess..I have the pink princess
They're both such gorgeous plants! 💚
