Thanks for the comprehensive review. I wish they'd have made the V2 a partner offering, rather than a replacement of the T10 XP-L -- the V2 is quite inferior for my use, with the brighter "firefly", and side switch that trades conventional activation and soft-switching (half-press switching) for something I'd have to further explain to anyone I hand it to. Both have pros and cons, surely, so i wish it was just a partner product... And I can't find the natural white light color anywhere :-/

I like the magnetic tailcap of the new model, but I definitely like the location and function of the switch on the old one even more. I wish they would've just upgraded the old T10 with the more powerful LED that the new one has, while still retaining the nice low firefly mode. The TH20 headlamp from ThruNite can run either a 14500 battery or a standard AA battery, and still retains the low firefly mode with either one. Not sure why they couldn't make the new T10 do the same thing. Oh well. In its current state, I wouldn't say that the new model is an improvement over the old one. To me, they're very much equal at this point. I think after I finish typing this, I'm going to go back to running a regular AA in my T10 V2 just to have the low firefly mode back. Pumping out the most lumens on the highest setting isn't everything after all.

I'm sad that the keep getting rid of the stainless steel crenulated bezel, not just for selfdefence, but the just don't dent or scratch when dropped. Oh yeah why isn't there a lantern cone.

The thing that bugs me the most about the V2 is that Thrunite has not said what version of a 14500 should be used with the T10 V2 and they have not offered a package deal (that I know of) of the light and a suitable 14500 with a charger. All that makes the V2 less attractive to me as I do not already own a 14500 or a charger. And it seems that Thrunite stopped selling that little yellow one cell charger by itself. The only way to get it is combined with an 18650 battery. Trying to buy a 14500 and charger of another brand is questionable and about doubles the price of the light. Dang Thrunite, what's your frick'n problem? Get your head out!

I really like my Nitecore D2 charger a lot. It can charge my smallest 18350 and rechargeable AAA batteries and can also charge something as big as a 26650 battery. (and everything in between) You can charge 2 batteries at the same time, and either charge 2 of the same type of battery or 2 completely different types of batteries at the same time. Costs about $18 on Amazon.

But I agree, a package deal of some sort would be great.

Floridian Idiot so the nitecore d2 will charge all rechargeable 14500 battery’s I’m new to rechargeables and don’t know if there’s different types of Rechargeables

I think it should recharge basically any type of rechargeable battery that's small enough to fit in it, protected or unprotected. It automatically shuts off once the battery is fully charged, so overcharging shouldn't be a problem.

Floridian Idiot thanks and they raised the price for the t10 v2 about 50 that not right I’d got one but this was like the best budget light and they had to raise it
