Chester could sing like an Angel and scream like a Demon. I loved hearing both of them singing together, harmonizing so well. I first heard Linkin Park in the Army back in 2001 just out of basic training watching "In the End" music video. At first I didn't like Mike's rapping part, but I grew to love it. I've always loved Chester's vocals. I heard about what happened to him 1 day after it happened randomly looking around RUclips, actually cried for someone I never met. "Who cares if one more light goes out? WELL I DO!" Stay safe.

He co-founded the band in 1996 and contributes as their rhythm guitarist, singer, keyboardist, primary songwriter and producer. He also formed a rap group called “Fort Minor” & has a solo album which you should also check out! Needless to say Linkin Park probably wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for him..he’s a musical genius and legend for creating a new genre, that many bands today try to mimic.

There’s no need to worry or apologize, because tragedy is an emotional experience. So it’s absolutely understandable when the emotions take over. This was the first Linkin Park song I ever heard, seeing the official video, and as soon as the chorus hit I loved it. Chris + Chester also teamed up to sing “Hunger Strike” live, when Chris was with his band and Chester was the guest. That one is very special, too. They where very close friends.
In fact. Chris Cornell's birthday is the 20th of July. And July 20 was the day Chester decided to end things. No doubt a choice he was conscious about.
Also. a thing that gets me with this clip.
When Chris comes in he sings. And when he gets to the line " Against my will I stand beside my own reflection, It's haunting " Right as him and Chester hugs. Each standing next to a reflection of themselves. A reflection that haunts them. They both had a pain inside, that would follow them to the end. A end that was connected since Chester died on Chris birthday. So they once again could stand beside each other, as a haunting reflection.
That he sings those words right as they hug. It just seems so telling.
An other emotional thing for people who know LP. But something that is still new for many.
LP and Chester's family did a memorial concert for him after his death. Where performers and friends and LP played songs and told stories.
Near the end Mike did a song with the crowd. They would do Chester's part. And they gave it all. Its really something.
The entire concert is something, but I get most people are not gonna watch a 3 hour show. But this one song is really something people should consider listening to.
You can find it by typing this in the search bar.
Linkin Park - In The End (Live Hollywood Bowl 2017)
Mike really stepped up when Chester passed.
He knew he might have just lost one of his best friends. But millions around the world lost something to. He was there for Chesters family. And he made sure to be there for the Linkin Park family. He talked to people. He knew it was on him.
The memorial concert show that to. He, in what could only have been a very hard time for him to. Make sure to help others in their grief.
He is such a good guy.

The governor of Ohio, USA (at the time I worked at the governor's mansion) stated his disappointment of Chris Cornell's death, as they were to perform at Rock on the Range in Columbus. As for these two, Chris passed on 18 May, both my wedding and divorce anniversary (02/05), and Chester passed on 20 July, both Chris and I's birthday.

It’s ok. I’m sitting here crying with you and I have watched this video dozens of times already.

No need to apologize, most of us get emotional too. 2 incredibly talented artists yet so troubled, their escape was thru their music and we'll be forever grateful for that, thru their pain they have saved millions probably

You are just now finding these artists. And I love the emotion. Chris Cornell was the soundtrack of my childhood with Soundgarden, Chester Bennington was the soundtrack of my teenage years. I mourn them both, but Chris I mourn more. Soundgarden was an absolute favorite of mine. I was 10 when I dicovered them in 1994. Blew my mind. I have seen him in concert with Audioslave, and by him self. I had bought tickets to finally see him play with Soundgarden, the band he got famous with. I was so excited. And then 4 days before the show he took his life. I cannot tell you how heartbroken I was. I can still remember me sobbing over my computer reading the news. He was one of a kind. I'm just glad I got to see him live at all.

Love your reaction to this. I loved these guys too and it's comforting to know others feel the same way as I do when I see this. thanks for the raw reaction.

beautiful reaction, first time here but you understand the whole thing which makes it so much better to watch the understanding of pain most of us have here, but other reactors don't. thanks for this.
