I have not done one thing to my hair since going natural in Dec 2017, so this silk press, treatment and trim was much needed. I hope you enjoy.

This is the best silk press I’ve seen on 4c hair. The amount of movement and silk you had looked like that of someone who had type 3 hair. Mad mad
It really is the best I have ever seen . It was nice watching someone who says they have 4c hair and its really 4c. Those products worked and her hair was so shiny and beautiful.

I had a bad experience with her unfortunately and she charged me full price despite I mentioned I wasn't happy. Left me under the dryer for an 1 hr whist attending to another client.

I pull my hair as well from the crown and now I'm trying to strengthen it so it can go back to looking full. Hair pulling is actually a disorder. It's called Trichotillomania.

Did your hair have that burnt smell after? I want to get a silk press but I hate that silk press hair smell.
@@shiellaneeza If the stylist knows what they're doing then you won't have burned hair smell. I straighten at home and my biggest tips for avoiding burned hair is making sure the hair is CLEANSED well and don't put the heat too high for your strands. I can't go over 380 without getting that smell. Which means anything higher is burning my hair. Oh and hair tools MUST be clean.
@@cfoster6804 thank you for your response. I always clean my hair tools every time I wash my hair. I'll keep in mind not to go over 380 whether it's me doing it or a hairstylist.
Firstly, the stylist did a great job! Second, I pull my hair too 🥺 I’m American so it’s considered a taboo topic where I’m from, but I love how carefree and open you are about it! I read a lot of comments from others who say they do the same. Idk I feel seen now and I know that was not the purpose of this video lol. It’s such a bad habit I’ve tried to stop for years now 😔 I told my therapist and she literally told me I have too much hair to suffer from TTP and I was like girl no, I have it 😒🙄. I pray we all stop “pulling” 🙏🏾

Wow! I thought I was the only one who pulled their hair. It's my edges - it's the worst :(. It started as a teenager, haven't been able to stop since. I think it might be a stress thing.

@@trudyadjrah8268 yes!!! It started for me when I was a teen as well and I haven’t stopped since! The longest I went was 6 months( was so proud of myself) but I was wearing wigs which helps because I can’t pull but as soon as I have access to my hair I start back ☹️. Omg I can’t believe I’m talking about this but God wanted me to watch this video. I shouldn’t feel ashamed but I do 😭 my therapist told me to journal how I’m feeling when I get the urge to pull but I haven’t been doing that.
@@jasmyn09 i suffer from it too, and its been since I was a baby 🙃 it comes and goes in waves.. no shade to your therapist but every doctor can't treat everything and neither can every therapist 🤷🏾♀️... im trying to get into group for mine because like you, I have a ton of hair so you wouldn't know unless you were constantly in my hair... and that's not a reason to negate something that's troubling someone. This may be surprising, but I've found really great information online too, which hopefully will help me on my path... all the best

I started off pulling my eyelashes as a child, boy oh boy do I regret it. Now I pull the side of my edges 🤦🏾♀️ it’s such a bad habit, but I feel you girl. Your hair looks bomb 😍😍
I’ve pulled out my lashes as a child. I still do but I’m trying to stop. I have a few lashes rn. What helps is wearing falsies and watch your hands. Since I’ve done it so long sometimes I do it without knowing so watch your hands.

I was delighted to see someone else who loves their tiny 4c coils. I LOVE my 4c coils too! I think 4c is so underestimated, but it is the most versatile hair type. Us 4c folk can have it all, from the tiniest of coils to the biggest curls ever, and all the way to bone straight. Nobody else’s hair can do that! Again, gorgeous hair! 😍
Now I really want to try Olaplex. I’ve never used it before, but I’ve heard so many good things about it. You’ve convinced me to try it. 😊👍

I pull my hair at the back of my head/the nape and my edges. It’s a habit but I mainly do it to detangle the damage from my leave out. It’s actually helping for me.
I had my first silk press yesterday. My hair feels so good after going natural for 4+ years. I am going to get passion twists next as my hairstylist told me I need to keep my hair in a protective style. Thank you for the video!

This woman knows how to do a silk press like old school presses. An older woman from my neighborhood used to press my 4c hair as a child so good that people were always asking if it was my real hair. This silk press was THAT kind of caliber!
She did a great job, her customer service is excellent, that is my target this year to find a great hairdresser like Jennifer.
